theres a million answers to this thread and all of them are irrelevant until you move there and meet the neighbours in question, they prob wont give a crap

or they may be police officers, who knows

you just need to think on your feet pal

asking for suggestions from a load of people who dont know you, dont know where your gonna live and dont know your situations is not going to be much help at all

funny, i was asked this the other day by a neighbor, she said how come you live alone in that house, only 1200 sq ft. i said because i worked hard and now Im going to live comfortably, she's just jealous because she works at starbucks and has 3 kids and another one on the way, i asked her why she has so many random dudes coming over all the time, she walked away talking shit. haters gonna hate and especially if you got more then them on your own hard work and not welfare.

Online business that needs room for storing boxes, office.

Maybe subletting to friends or if you own you could be fixing up the house as an investment property to sell at some point.

Tell them you and your friend 'got it like that' and are 'about that life.' Also purchase some cars built by GM in the 80's and put large wheels on them.

Creating a cover story for having a big house is kind of, well different. Plus why would the neighbors ask or question it? Is the house the biggest one in the neighborhood? People have to live in every bedroom or it's weird?

Just my 2 cents: If you live in a house you have neighbors that live all around you..in houses.

You have friendly neighbors, fighting neighbors, nosey ones, invisible ones, dangerous ones.

They have one thing in common they care about THEIR house. Doubly if they are buying the place and ten times if they are a parent.

You are under a microscope. It's just like your boss is watching you for a whole shift it's no big deal if you know what your doing.

Have a simple plausible story. Don't be an asshole, but don't make them want to visit. Be normal and forgettable blend in and disappear.

If your really trying to do something big do it right. Pick the right place in the right neighborhood.

Re-doing the electrical is no biggie. It's the neighbors and their judgement of you that you care about.

People that have dogs & pets can not rent apartments, they are forced to rent a house with a back yard. So get a dog! & when people ask you complain about the high rent, And tell the nosy MF's that you had no choice but to rent a house because of your dog/pets.
Other option is to tell them to go & get f***ed.
Bro its all in the attitude you carry. Just be yourself wave a hello & a smile to neighbors but don't engage in excessive conversation as this will lead to curiosity even if its the friendly kind it can be dangerous.
