Why are you living/renting a big house and only one or two people live there?

Thanks for the replies.

It makes sense to not have an elaborate story so it doesn't lead to more lies that could be discovered. When buying a house you wouldnt have to worry as much and shouldnt have many neighbors anyways if you find the right spot.

Same goes for leasing a house, it shouldnt even be attempted if the manager or owner is being extra nosy about what your doing with the space.

I like the answer about liking the spot so much your not worried about the higher cost and you've always wanted a house with extra space.

Ive Lived in HUGE houses my whole growing career...

Couple things you can do....

Bring a friends daughter or two and say your a single father, works great...

Say your used to bigger house because your family is rich is another excuse ive used several times..

But in reality, ive been asked probably 4 times out of 20 why I need a huge house, they only care that they get paid on time...

I've got a lot of shit........
Simples
Good and simple, I was thinking of something along those lines

I wanted to live in a nice house with some privacy but most houses have at least a few bedrooms, but I don't really mind because ill need an office space and storage plus it would be nice to have a room for my Mom to stay in when she comes over for holidays.

Krunchbubble, a couple questions- can they see if you have kids on a credit report? Do you find owners renting their property check credit the same way management companies do?

On a credit check can they see if your renting another property or have a mortgage on a property?

Credit check will certainly show a loan out with any major bank/lender.

Unless there is a different type of credit check that property management companies use I'm pretty sure credit checks will show your mortgage, car loans, as well as any other accounts or lines of credit open.

Still none of their business though. You can still rent a home if you have a mortgage. For all they know you moved out of it's location and it is now a rental property.. or it was financial decision to rent your mortgaged home to someone else and rent a cheaper property. Many reasons to be renting while holding a note.

No, kids wont be on a credit report....

I ALWAYS tell them they CANNOT run my credit, I have a recent one right here....

Its too easy to pull your own credit and do whatever you want with it, make yourself have a 800 score....

Pay stubs too....

I would ask them why they need that SUV/Mercedes/BMW....when a Honda would work just fine--

I live in a 3 bedroom place. I abandon the downstairs since the landlord didn't replace the carpet there and it sucks. I use 1 bedroom as my bedroom, another as my study, and the third has been re-purposed as my living room. Also I have cats, and the smaller a place I live in the more it would smell like animals.

you could ask this same question to the other hundred residents of any McMansion neighborhood brother dont worry about it

they all got 2-3 old people in them

Say you are a hoarder, hoarders need lots of space and it's not uncommon for them to live alone and not let anyone into their house.

Not sure what kind of area u fellas are in. But around here big house is big money. An I damn sure won't rent my shit out to anyone who tells me they are a hoarder. An any owner/ landlord with decent property likes knowing there shit is being taken care of. :joint:

funny, i was asked this the other day by a neighbor, she said how come you live alone in that house, only 1200 sq ft. i said because i worked hard and now Im going to live comfortably, she's just jealous because she works at starbucks and has 3 kids and another one on the way, i asked her why she has so many random dudes coming over all the time, she walked away talking shit. haters gonna hate and especially if you got more then them on your own hard work and not welfare.

this doesnt seem like a big deal at all when you live in a single family house i would just say i like alot of space and im wealthy. what would you guys say if it was a 2 family house? i plan to get a house with 2 units so i can grow in one unit and live in the other unit that way i can have guests over without anyone knowing what im doing. im worried about people not seeing anyone living in the other apartment

Tell them you are a writer, inventor or an internet pioneer.

The other explanations for 'over renting' tell them your a trust funder. It could explain odd hours, eccentric behavior and always having enough for rent.

The first few you would have to tell a story......but if they believe your a trustifarian they wouldn't want to converse much.

who gives a fuck what size house u rent/buy?

but i guess if asked

"I plan on start on a family"
"I told myself, once I'm able to move out of this piece of a shit "studio" , I moving somewhere 5x's it's size."
If your planning now let me run this by you, and everyone here, EARTHBAG home!!! I have 10x20 paid 750 for everything but septic, which is currntly testing a worm bin flushing toilet filtration system currently set me back only 250 as now, but I bought my acre for 800 bucks well outside city limits, own paid for, no bills other than gas food, and saving for my main goal, my own bigger property with the works, turn this into a rental one day, hell if I charge 500 a month would pay for itself in less than a year. Just me my wife, my dog gun, and smoke. I own my own business so I work when I need to. Just thought I would throw it out there for those tired of the system, and rat race.

Yes some draw backs by not being in town, but not worth struggling to pay rent to someone elses shite, plus I like the fact 90% of my income goes to what I want, thats worth it to me let me tell you, hell I live only 38 min from town, so aint that hard up for city life that a quick drive cant fix.:tiphat:

I guess the OP shoulda stated what's a large home. Large homes around this way are 3000sq ft. Definitely looks funny with a hoptie parked outside that will make ppl wonder.

Claustrophobia (from Latin claustrum "a shut in place" and Greek φόβος, phóbos, "fear") is the fear of having no escape and being closed in small spaces or rooms (opposite: claustrophilia). It is typically classified as an anxiety disorder and often results in panic attack, and can be the result of many situations or stimuli, including elevators crowded to capacity, windowless rooms, and even tight-necked clothing.[1] The onset of claustrophobia has been attributed to many factors, including a reduction in the size of the amygdala, classical conditioning, or a genetic predisposition to fear small spaces.
