Why are you living/renting a big house and only one or two people live there?

Seems like a reasonable question for neighbors/landlord to ask themselves, Anyone have any good ideas for a cover story if someone was to ask?

Online business that needs room for storing boxes, office.

Maybe subletting to friends or if you own you could be fixing up the house as an investment property to sell at some point.

etc

I like the space.
I always wanted a big house.
I grew up in a 2 bedroom / 1 bedroom and always wanted a larger place to live.

Pretty simple, no?

Nosey neighbors. Better to have an answer ready then not. An in experience i have been asked by the owner why I want such a big house. The divorce and kids goes well with them. :tiphat:

OP - all your stories open up the need for more stories. That's a lot of lying. Why not just say nothing.

Now you need an imaginary business, kids, etc.

Or people concerned about who you have coming and going. Just hold your piece or peace or however it goes.

It's not really all that unusual to live in a house much bigger then you need even for the average person. Some rich fucks live in houses the size of shopping malls, do they need all space, no but it still doesn't stop them. If you can afford it who gives a shit, haters gonna hate.

I needed a multi-bedroomed spacious place as I am opening a quiet discrete bordello and dont want the riff-raff and trouble that usually goes with down-market brothel type establishments :tiphat:

^This.

If they are asking questions like this beyond just wanting the rent paid on time then they are not the landlord you want. Move along to the next potential property/landlord.

No stories..
I want a big house because I don't like small houses. I want to live in a house.. not a granny ranch.

you just tell them you want a house instead of an apt because you dont want to be living with a bunch of people over and under you. your a professional and not yet have a family but can afford to/prefer to rent a home. also tell them you dont know many homes that are built smaller than 2 and up bedrooms so you cant control that. have a good story about what you do and dont think people dont do backrounds or checks with all this internet crap. run it like a business. dont have nitwits over. you will be interupted cause people do want to check on there home. replace windows, funaces ect. look and see how close your neighbors are. there so many things to consider but this is a start. never be late with the rent. setting up cameras in the house hidden of course will give u piece of mind that nobody entered while u were gone.smell control to the max.
