Mines always running. They have a large selection of different aroma cartridges. That's just an added bonus to please your senses. All the cartridges neutralize odors, not mask. Like I said, the different aroma selection is just an added bonus for your senses. The Classic Neutral cartridge is what you want though.

Our proprietary membrane technology works safely and quickly, using natural oils to neutralize odors and enhance indoor environments.
Vaportek dry vapor systems do not use or create ozone, and contain no added alcohol, petroleum distillates, CFCs or harmful ingredients. These systems have been proven especially successful in the restoration/cleaning industry to quickly, safely and effectively remove odors.

Kinda worried about the oils statement and how it would react with the bud. BTW I'm not trying to say these solutions would ruin the bud, or even make it bad, just that it could possibly be not as pungent or change the finished smell compared to using carbon filters.

no doesn't effect bud at all. It neutralizes the air, not the buds. Go with fan and carbon filter if you like, or both. Fans are really loud though

boyblue the bdrm is appo]rox. 10x14. i will need a fan/scrubber anyway so what size do you think i would need?

watts so it's safe to run all the time then.

I will have to look at them for harvest day, right now the whole block knows when I cut down, mostly because I don't want to listen to the fan the whole day when I trim.

Maybe try a combo of both? If one doesn't cut it, add the other.

8" fan, with a large scrubber, in the room, venting into the attic or outside. Maintain a negative in the room, make sure all air exiting room is scrubbed, issue solved.

I have many rooms that work off one 8" fan, pulling air from under the house (through the central heat duct that I knocked out). Fan is in the attic, air is pulled through the scrubber, then across the lights, and up into the attic. The negative produced by the air being sucked out of the room passively pulls the cold air from under the house into the room. 4K rooms run perfectly with one 8" fan on a thermostat.

I use another house fan in the attic to push or pull air out of the attic.

Usually it only takes one 8" hole that is easily fixed when you're done.

Just make sure you produce a negative pressure environment, with all exiting air being scrubbed.

you think 8'' with a mountain air filter is too small for a 10x14 room?

dont waste your time. i have a mt air wasnt impressed. i went out and bought a few vaporteks. dont have the computer gizmo fan dispenser.. ill just run a small fan behind it. this run will be all vaportek no carbon. ill keep ya posted on my results when they flower.:tiphat: if i can get 60 days out of a cartridge, ill be happy.

Vaportek Optimum 4000 with the High Output Classic Neutral cartridge. It'll completely neutralize the odor, not mask. Problem solved.

Back in the day, good old Rez preached about these...so we got one.

From my experience....all it does is mask the smell. These are great outside of a room....added security. To "completely neutralize the odor" all of the air must be treated...through a duct with either a carbon scrubber or ozone. We had a 12" scrubber sitting outside the rooms, in a garage. Also running a 4000 with neutral in that garage....scrubber got old and before it was replaced, I could smell pot from the driveway, 15 + feet away. 4000 cartridge was fresh...so was the smell of sour diesel.

They help for sure but for a bedroom grow open to the rest of the house...it's not gonna fly...esp if he grows decent bud. Better than lysol, no VOCs or anything..

Glad it works for you....but the 4000 by it's self, did not eliminate the smell for us.

This has almost turned into a odor mask thread.

For 6k which you will be doing eventually, get the carbon scrubber and fan. Everything else will go back on the shelf. Make the investment. No disrespect to anyone elses' opionions, they are very valid for 2k watts.

I think a 8" inline and a 8" phresh will work, I was worried about my room (12x9) and I have the inline vortex running on medium on the speed controller on 24/7 exhausting using a passive 4'' intake from the basement where the flower room is located

8" fans aren't cheap, but you're going to need a fan sooner or later so if you can eat the cost now live broke for a week or two and you'll be happy you did

I just bought the Vaportek and the extended 120 day cartridge for $214 delivered. The machine was $159 and the cartridge was like $53. Delivery was around $14. It was from a company called Johnson Supply........... I'll report back on it's effectiveness.

isn't sour d one of the stankiest strains out there? Someone mentioned growing low odor strains. I think sour d is definately not a low odor strain...
