Pics from 6/11

Inside the greenhouse. I've since trimmed down the living mulch as it was getting pretty tall in places. Also cleaned up the lowers and suckers on all but the 2.0 girls. They'll be getting that treatment soon and I REALLY need to start pulling the tarp as these ladies are going to get big when they start to stretch :headbange

The BLR seems to just be content sitting there hardly growing right now I feel like. I was told that she takes her time but makes up for it when stretch starts. I sure hope so because I was looking forward to getting overwhelmed with training a giant plant. Still very excited to see what she brings to the table.

Got most of the work done on making some more sites. I repurposed one of the cages from last summer and used them to make raised beds. As you can see I used burlap on the inside (couldn't source landscape fabric and wanted to make them anyway) and left the bottoms open except for excess burlap sitting on the native soil. I figured the roots could go down as they pleased but otherwise use up the space inside the bed primarily. I made two of these. I bought another roll of burlap to go around the exterior in order to provide a little more buffer against wind/exposure and drying out too fast. I might still do a landscape fabric layer and then burlap over top of that but we'll see. Two of the Bodhi LHB x Wookie testers will go in those for full term season. You can actually see them in the post before, they are on the ground with one in a gallon container and the other in a 2 gallon.

Thanks for stopping in Hatch. Good to hear you are going to have some 2.0 and Daywrecker outdo (I assume?). Do you have a grow thread going where you can post a link?

looks good! you have plant limits to deal with or just blowing it up?

I just put some plants out on a huge tract of hunting land near me owned by rich city doctors.
they have their tree stands near the road but there are logging trails back on hundreds of
acres that have a huge swamp where I doubt they ever visit.

I'm collecting topsoil, leaf litter and natural mulch from the piles left by the loggers
and carrying to in buckets to natural holes where big trees fell over at the edge of the swamp.
the holes are wet and I'm hoping the plants will dig the swamp conditions. I'm making mounds and covering them with mulch that is everywhere from the spring flood.

it's a spot where I go mushroom hunting and this year I'm plugging OGKB 2.0, Forum, ECSD, CBD Cannatonic and a Chernobyl that I like early.

Who dat you got back issues ??? just wondering why you just did not dig up a decent hole and blend in organic soil and plant in the ground ?? rather then limiting plant root structure and eventual root binding possibly i now roots will grow out of the potato sacks . but being above ground soil temps , watering is going to be a issue
looks great otherwise

you should of made floating containers tied with a string :) with wick that will keep soil damp
Only issue i see is being in a swamp area is come flowering time its going to be humid as fuck possible Bud rott

I don't know how to count, if I did I wouldn't have as many out... That sounds cool about your woods spot and harvesting local materials.

My biggest concern is going to be the amount of water required but hopefully it won't be as big a deal. I'm thinking that wrapping some more material around the outside will help retain some water. I'm not worried about roots growing into and getting bound into the burlap. This is essentially a low tech smart pot and I'm sure there will be a lot of root pruning going on. The soil itself on the hillside is pretty rocky and not much fun to dig into. Worst case I guess these things can be broken down, a hole dug, and the soil reused. This will do for this season at least.

I was thinking about the bud rot too. Keep your eyes peeled and you're probably going to find out who is the most mold resistant the hard way unfortunately. Post some pics up though as it sounds like a cool area.

makes sense though floating beds in swamp or shit even ponds :) make a wick system that will keep soil moisture levels perfect or some type of slow flood an drain with bell siphon,, dam one can get pretty into making new pot / self watering systems my only conern with your dat ??? is soil temps being above ground possibly slowing plant growth and yield
I have dug in some pretty clayish rocky grounds just takes time with a pitch fork and spade
but if your growing there every year then why the hell not do it , during summer couple hrs every other day beating the shit out of that hole then once its done place weed fabric and start LOS no till style or even till organic grow ??
you could even add 10 " pvc pipe
And use it as actual compost with live worms that actually each nuruents deep into the soil food web just by watering it :)

I'm definitely picking up what you're putting down but this will most likely be the only season I'm using these spots. If for some reason I'll be using them again next season I can reevaluate their performance and adjust accordingly. Thanks for posting a picture of the floating containers that you mentioned. I really like the concept.

Typical Colorado weather today, sunny and beautiful until clouds start rolling in mid afternoon and eventually starts hailing pretty hard. I ran up the hill when the bigger stuff started falling so I could throw some emergency shade cloth over the BLR to protect it until it passed. Otherwise the girls have really been doing well and taking off. The BLR is doing well also which is nice to see. I was worried about it for so long. Here is the BLR as of yesterday.

After reading a thread on here about Daywrecker aka original Headband I'm not sure if I have the real cut. Can anybody help verify if it is or not? Here are some pictures of the plant in veg from yesterday.

Any thoughts on if it's Daywrecker or what it might be otherwise?
Whodat I just looked at my daywrecker and she's similar but I've got more diesel type fat three bladed leaves. Yours may just be super healthy and growing fast though, mine is a few weeks behind. I'll try and get a picture up to compare once it gets over minor transplant shock.

Thanks for the follow up regarding the Daywrecker. It is a nice cut. Not fussy, easy enough to clone, yields well, vegges well, great bag appeal and frost, decent smell. I just want to be sure of what it is.

Subbin. Good luck this year whodat.

Thanks man! I was actually going to start depping tonight but only realized 10 minutes before 8 and didn't know the best way to set it up. I'll get it set up for tomorrow hopefully. Does anybody know, it's the black color out, white inside right?

Black inside yo

Thanks man. How do you secure yours to the ground or whatever to make sure the wind doesn't blow it around? I ended up buying the end of the roll special from Forever Flowering Greenhouse so it's way oversized for my baby greenhouse. Would it be beast to just let the excess lay on the ground and put some 2x4s on it or something to weight it down? How much do I need to worry about the material ripping or tearing?

Thanks again!

That would work. Gorilla tape for patches. Attach one side to 2x4s by rolling and stapling. The other side can just be pulled over for placing the 2x4s down. I used to use sandbags. If humidity is too high run an inline fan blowing outside underneath the tarp. Check the inside for light leaks. Seed plants have a higher chance of herming when depped for some reason. If I ever do it again I will probably do all clones. Keep your pull times exact and consistent to minimize the stress.

Thanks man, good ideas here. Sandbags would be better weight with no sharp edges to possibly cut or wear the plastic. I'll buy a roll of gorilla tape to have on hand in case I tear or punch a hole. I don't know about a fan though, maybe I'll just cross my fingers and hope for now. I'll try to keep pull times as close to 8 as possible, that's the goal.
