So here's what I'm pulling the trigger on

  1. Hypoaspis (Stratiolaelaps scimitus Womersley)
  2. Amblyseius swirskii
  3. Rove beetle (Dalotia coriaria) or Atheta coriaria
  4. Nemasys - Steinernema feltiae
  5. Amblyseius fallacis on bean leaves
  6. Amblyseius cucumeris Rapid Release

I figured the shotgun approach was the best one.

This is America dude, speak a da English

some very nice looking plants who dat is. Love the biological pest control with the lady bugs and wasps. Are the wasps eating grasshoppers in the pic? you think the grasshoppers are eating the stem like that? Only seen them eat leaves here.
Keep up the great work.

Peace GG

The wasps are just naturally around I didn't introduce them or anything. It's unfortunate but they don't go after live ones. They are on a fresh one I just stomped super quick though eating it up, it's pretty wild. It's pretty funny but it seems that they'll eat so much that they get the itis and will roll over on their back and just kind of lay there for awhile.

@who dat is I just finished a round of Bodhi's Lemon Diesel x Wookie testers, and a couple of the plants have some really tiny, undeveloped seeds. Like pin head sized. You had mentioned that you got hermis from this cross, right?

None of these plants ever had full blown male flowers, and I only found 2 or 3 unopened nanner looking things when I trimmed. The seeds are actually flat, like very small pepper seeds.

I had 5 plants packed under one light, and only found seeds on some lower branches of 3 plants. I've never seen this before... but is this what happened with yours?

The pot is killer, though, lol!

I had some Lemon Diesel x Apollo 11 G F4 testers that I found some random seeds in. Otherwise I ran my Cacoon (Loompas Headband x Wookie) testers that I got a bunch of seeds in but they came from pollen that leaked out of my male pollination chamber. I never saw any nanners or hermi flowers on otherwise regular girls

For the sake of not having to retype everything I'll just copy and paste from IG, info below.

Out of 8 Dank Zappa males I narrowed it down to 3 so far. I was hoping to hear some feedback on what you guys thought. Here in the picture from left to right are 2, 7, and 4. After this photo was taken the 4 plant was leaning like it didn't want to support its own weight, bad sign for a dad? They are all smelly on stem rub but different smells. I loke the structure of 7 the most. Any thoughts and feedback is appreciated.

Some phenos had little to no sidebranching at all, 7 seems like it has the most going on. Their structure is similar to females

I am trying to pick a winner to keep around for a little while to work with and start a couple projects using Chem 91 SkunkVA, Star Dawg IX, and Garlic Breath to make some funky weird ass smelling F1s. I like the idea of letting them dry out and also supercropping to stress them for recovery and stability, good call. Seems like 4 is an easy call to cull then. It would be nice to get them outside to flower out. I even bought some Florel to reverse males if I want, still might try that to flower them outside after taking cuts.

Any and all info, input, advice is appreciated. I'm sure selection will get easier after this first time.

I've been wondering about scientific ways to go about a selection like that. Maybe try counting the number of growing tips and comparing?

I like what you have going on. Lots of little projects. I'd like to start trying light deps and having plants in different stages at different times in different soil mixes like that. Thanks for sharing.

Looking good bro!! Hope the hoppers have slowed. Getting cold round here!! Cheers

The colder nights have been nice in slowing them down but they come out again during the warm days. I'm continuing to spray the plants with essential oils, neem, and my garlic/chili extract in rotation. Budset has started in but I need to keep up the IPM so they don't destroy the whole plants. I'll taper off the neem after another week or so though.

It seems like the best way to do it is with stress testing for stability, stem rubbing for terp profile, and just taking into account the overall structure that you want to pass on down the line. I'm still intrigued with the idea of reversing the males though.

Thanks for stopping in
