Ive grown several strains of WW from diff.breeders and Ill still go for Nirv.
Its a heavy strain, easy and fair price( you can fool around without getting broke)
Try crossing it with Nirv. W. Rhino and youll get totally stoned. :joint:

ther is so much controversy over the 2 and i cannot get any of the "main" breeders to show me pics???
i have grown out nirvana strains because i lost my expensive shit to the cops so i bought nirvana and was pleasantly suprised!!!

mau at nirvana sell f2 versions but in some cases its better than the original i think!
not every thing he salls has the skunk in it!
people assume that but i hear that mau will buy a strain,,,, like 5 packs or so........and he grows them out (50 in total) and selects his parents then backcrosses 4 times before release!
i had the original one in 95 and this looks spot on!
very,,, very nute sensitive tho! but hey//// that is a widow trait all in itself!
try it!
its only 15 bux!!!!!
shanti himself kinda backs up the legitamacy!!!!

FYI,

An odd note, the Nir. WW that I have after a 7 month cure is even stronger now. I guess some weed becomes more potent with a longer cure.

grew nirvana White Widow last year for my first grow. wish i would of kept some moms, but it was my first grow, so i was just happy that they survived :pointlaug .. still have some bud left from this grow. been curing for 8 months now... so so good. i will agree with whoever said that they got more potent after the long cure.... i still have 5 seeds left so next time around hopefully i get a good keeper mom

also made some killer bubble hash from the trim and popcorn buds from these

3 plants, under a 250:

I have had a WW mom from Nirvana that I have had since 98, and I have tried WW from 3 other breeders and none of them ever came close to the Nirvana. She has been so good to me over the years I don't think I will ever get rid of her, very smooth smoke and a knock out stone.

Goyakla White Rhino is another great from nirvana, I have grown out many times if I didn't have such a great WW I would have stuck with the W Rhino, very good yielder and a stone that is out of this world just the smell can be a problem, no-matter what I tried the second you walked into my place you could smell her, but everybody that tried her said it was amazing.

I grew nirvana White widow outdoors 3 years ago, I thought it was ok but lacking the potency I was expecting from white Widow. Others that year were much stronger. Reefermans Gypsy's Kiss(white widow X petrolia headstash) was much stronger and better yielding for me even though I don't think gypsy's kiss is that strong either only 7/10. I still want a good White Widow so next time I want to grow it Im going with black widow from Mr. Nice hands down.

I do have friends that still mention that white widow to this day though so maybe you will like it more than me. It gave me 6oz in a 5gal bucket.

where are you getting the info that nirvana bx them 4 times before the release of the strain? that wouldn't exactly make it an f2 then now would it....
also how would and f2 version be better than the original? ibls and f1s cost more because there is less variation.

Perhaps only Shanti is qualified to answer who's got the original WW parent stock seeds (Mr Nice, Sensi Seeds, Greenhouse Seeds?).
Homegrown Fantaseeds claim to have "the mother of the White Widow strain", which they call First Lady. Whether there's any truth to this I cannot say. I grew Nirvana's White Widow, it was good but nothing worth writing home about. I grew Dutch Passion's White Widow too, same thing. I run WW's sister Misty since years, and since I think she outdoes the WW in both high and taste it could explain why I fail to get impressed by this very potent plant.

Most of the breeders selling WW is euipped with F2 plants, Nirvana is no exception. On the contrary, their whole business idea is based on selling cheap F2:s of other breeders' work. When Nirvana say (in their fancy web site intro) that "Years were spent traveling, seeking out and collecting marijuana seeds from the finest strains" they mean travelling from Dutch growroom to growroom picking the cherrys out of the cake.
Whether this is deplorable or not is up to each and everyone to decide. As said, most breeders and seedbanks have at one point or another cashed in on other people's work, and personally I'm glad that Nirvana sells good, cheap genetics to those that cannot afford better pedigree strains.

Of course an F2 can surpass its parents in quality, that's the magic of genetics. The thing is, the word "copy" has a negative value and "original" a positive value to us, so we tend to imagine that the original is always best. Not so.

As Rosy said ... heja shanti could be one of those who might know ...

my knowledge ends with being sure that Shanti took his S.Indian male which makes 1 part of the WW as he left greenhouse and opened MNS

and to nirvana ... , those guys have everything except f2´s .. its not possible to do a f2 of every strains they mention to have with only 3 males for breeding [NL, skunk and Haze] this is the reason why many many peopz find purple pheno´s in strains where even not a single purple should pop . , but hej for 20 bucks in nothing lost

I'd guess that Nirvana Seeds have 5 ~ 10 separate growers/breeders/seed makers who produce their many strains...and so it would be silly to suggest that they only use three males!

I'm a fan of Nirvana Seeds, I've always had great germination rates .....I've had better results (iow bud that produces a nice high) from Nirvana than strains from other breeders that were 3, 4 and 5 times more expensive.

Nirvana WW is one of the top selling strains. I grew it last century, it was 8.5+ out of 10 for potency, produced hard resiny buds in 9 ~ 11 weeks but lacked complexity to the high.l.the taste was unique too. The high was overwhelming in the first 15 minutes for most light smokers. I crossed several WW males with Big Bud, Ice, Hazes, IP 2000 and 3 or 4 other strains. I produced lots of seed and grew quite a few of them out for a few years but the potency was not passed onto the next generation...they were all good smoke but nothing exceptional

..actually, I've just started a few of those WW crosses I made back then..maybe I'll find a ncie one?....

If you don't want to call Nirvana's strains F2:s Fjällhöga, what do you want to call them?
Seems to me that if you want to cash in on a top selling strain, all you have to do is to get a few packs of seeds, make a good choice of parents and produce your own seeds.
I talked to Wernard the other day (the creator of Mellow Yellow, Holland's first coffeeshop, and Positronics, Amsterdam's first growhop, and the Positronics seedline). He told me that Nirvana's founder worked for him in the growshop in the 90's. He went solo in the mid 90's and founded Nirvana. Nirvana Seed Company has many Positronics strains in their own line, for some reason. Misty, Citral, California Orange Bud and others first appeared in the Positronics seedline.

Anybody here thinks Nirvana's founder got his own Citral strain from Pakistan, or from the original seed stock sitting right under his nose in the growshop?

Hello all
I grew 7 nirvana's white widow females years ago and they weren't very stable.
4 were small with a bad yield, one of these had a very good motivating high.
3 were very vigorous with an average yield: among them there was one very sativa which is the strongest pot i have had (no more than one and a half hit) and i have smoked many (in switzerland, holland, amsterdam and lots of others...). Every one who tried it says it s the strongest thing they ever had. i run her 3 times and didn't save her cause anxiety level was too high. Sometimes i regret that it was so strong! and speedy
I saved a more indica one which was the tastiest with a strong giggly and well balanced high . for all, taste was floral but lacked .The one i saved is a little more tasty whith floral and gummy notes.

Geriminaton time?

Geriminaton time?

How long WW need to come out from the soil? I have put 5 seeds (Nirvana WW), from Gypsy on germination. They start to pop up in 3 days and then I put them in soil. Now it is 4th day since they started germination. Anyone have sme expirience with duration of germination of these seeds?

if you germed in paper towels til you saw a root... then placed in soil... should take 2-4 days for them to come up

how deep did you plant the seeds?

They had a root 3-4 mm long.
I put them in 5-7 mm deep holes that I made with toothpick. And then just covered them with soil and sprajed with watter.
