Next Gen is the guy who was half of Federation seeds. Its the same Romulan. There are several phenos, always have been. The piney peppery one, the grapey one, and the one I liked best the superglue flavored one. This pic is the superglue pheno.

wow, lester thanks for chiming in.

since, I think, you have experience with next gen romulan I was wondering if you can tell me about your experience with their seed stock. How many seeds to find a "keeper?" Also if you could compare the various phenols effect wise. I have never heard of the superglue phenol what is it like?

If you came across the piney phenol did it have a tropical fruit smell component to it?

I have not grown Nextgens myself but a friend has and he wound up with plants that were very similar to the federation ROM I used to grow.

The piney definitely has that fruityness, distinct romulan flavor. Its the most common pheno. Effect is indica, euphoric, happy, warm. First taste is pine then the flavor translates to fruity or peppery, think black pepper, depending on how its grown or pheno.

The grape is my least favorite, I feel the weakest stone and grapey flavor but some other flavor I don't care for, very alien, hard to describe.

Superglue smells and taste of how superglue smells. Its uncanny how that taste compares. My favorite pheno. Has a hint of the peppery after the glue taste. Effect is blasted stoned, hotface, pissing myself laughing. Best way to describe it. It is also the fastest pheno in my experience. My friend did not get that pheno out of a pack.

I would personally do an open pollination with the pack, it would be worth it, there is gold in those genetics. Smells and flavors I have never experienced before. I would say that you have a good shot at finding some keepers in a pack.

thanks for sharing that info lester. I think what would personally interest me is the evergreen phenol but its good to know about the variation in the line. Since I had "the romulan" mostly what I have come across as romulan was deep herbaceous, musty, with an aniseed and fennel fragrance. Did you experience an of those notes in the phenols you have tried?

Also was the pine a kind of sweet citrusy pine or more of a deep, spruce, rosemary, traditional christmass tree (balsam fir) type of pine?

i just binned big bag f2 raskal romulan . didn't think much of the f1 . i,d like to try a good romulan one day . the bud doesn't really do it for me . think its hard to find a good one from what i,ve seen.

so i guess what,m saying is , i wouldn't be buying raskal romulan , never thought i,d say don't buy raskal gear lol its only the rom

last try i have a single pisces rom/haze. i know its a cross . but if pisces (jimmy) used it its the real deal .

Thought I had posted about Rom.

I think there's another Rom. thread for anyone interested.

I bought a pack of Fed Rom in 2004.

LOVED IT ! Pot-smoking friends loved it !

Tried Next Gen Rom in 2014/5 ... bunch of no-sprouts - in a pack of 15.

Also Tried Freedom of Seeds Romberry - Rom x Blueberry.

Close enough - 5/5 females in first batch.

'Worst' plant in first batch DISAPPEARED - cause it all got smoked.

Others got seeded.

Can only put so much energy into a Rom Quest.

The pine is like outdoors, spruce is a good example.

Never ran across floral or anise. It wouldn't suprise me. When I made f2's the result was all kinds of smells and flavors. Also it needs to be dialed in. It isn't hard to grow but the more you love it the better it will be. I liked the earlier high versus the late plants.

I'm growing out Classic seeds romulan. Out of a 10 pack 4 survived my ham fists and it looks like I have 3 males and a female. 1 male is Sativa leaning, super vigorous, branchy, and smells like tropical fruit/cherries. One female is average but smells like tropical fruit. I'm going to try and make seeds and see if I can get a good representation of true romulan next round.

The male has me super excited.
