I honestly remember when the bullrider was coming around my scene in sd about 5+ years ago when grown probably by one of the originals or one of the better growers. I am pretty sure the BR originally started out by an older grower that knew his stuff (when it really got kicked up a notch in quality) cause as rumor goes it was some kids cut in the closet or something and then handed it out to somebody that ended up getting to this guy who was older than me at time. Anyways the reasong I say this is anyone who was getting bullrider a 5-8 years ago (memory fades me at the momeent on correct release dates) but there was bullrider and what was called rodeo bullrider. I remember being at my buddies house gettin over a food poisoning and this stuff reaked so much of justt BR, that it actually kinda bugged me. LOL. and the Rodeo Bull was a lot less airy/haze looking and was a little more compact looked a lot different ( better and denser looking and more crystally) but havent seen that stuff since the late 90s and the OG BR stayed, then a few years back the BR clone got to a east county person that I know and he made the as far as I know the original BR/Afghan, the only reason I am pretty sure is bc he said he made it originally, and this guy isnt a BSer and all he grew for the longest time was a pretty shwag afghan and grew that out commercially for years before he got the original BR cut and crossed it with his afgan. he also crossed the Hoggs with his afgan and the p91 with his afghan, but didnt hand out the Hogg/afghan or the P/afghan cause they honestly were better (imho) and ended up losing his version cause he was greedy. Reguardless the afghan P and the afhan BR came out and I think it was the perfect match for me, cause The BR reguardless of quality didnt get me that high alone and onced cross with afghan packed more of a punch to me. I dont know for sure, but have had two strains that I know of in seed form that are really close to flavor for me, not so much looks but it sure seems like a reasonable starting place and to me was a pure power plant or a shiva cross that I cant remember the cross was, another similar strain to BR is certain kali mist phenos, this just depends though, cause I have had quite a few different versions of kali mist. So not all the kali mists to me are the same. Anyways thats what I know about BR and SD stuff. I am a SD person as well.

Diego, I suspect that there are several versions of the AB, as people have tried to cash in on the popularity of the BR name in the SD area. If BR was a Hawaiaan Haze crossed with an Afghan, and the AB was crossed again with another Afghan, there could be several phenos around. Then, too, several people could have crossed the AB with whatever they had in their grow room and called that BR as well.

The pics are of the bullrider that APE has. I had been growing it out for a few years thinking it was romulan. A good friend mmm420socal told me it might not be romulan at all but something else... I gave the cut to APE and it was grown out by some patients..... fade to the future and what I thought was romulan is bullrider.

I got the clone years ago at CCC on el-cajon bld. ( now closed with everything else ). It was labled romulan, but now that I think of it they might have had some bullrider clones too....

ODD thing I might add. A worker at a dispensary gave me 4 clones. He said they were romulan. They were almost EXACTLY alike in apperance. Only when they hit 4-5 weeks flower did you notice the difference. So maybe they got mixed up at CCC or something....

Got some Super Silver Haze that looks just dam medicating. Got three clones and summer plans for her.

Have a great one peeps.

i got one BR from feminized seed at day 2 flowering! and you know it came from a very tight connect.

i was givin three seeds as a house warming gift; one didnt make it, one was put outdoor and the other just started flowering indoor.

WOW! this ones a keeper (if female of course). the center of each fan leaf has a purple heart! ive never seen anything like it.(confirm?) the leafs are so COOL!

ill try to get pics up soon. i havent been online in i while and i need to figure this computer out first.

ive been smoking the BR, Calikrush, real NL's, silvers, etc. for years now and id just like to say that its been fun. haha. you know what i mean...

Hey diego nice to have you here. I'm very close to your area, love the place you can grow outdoors whenever you want haha.

Pops, I don't disagree, I bet theres tons of versions out there for sure. You know your stuff man.

Bruce leef, dude I had one bullrider seed I'd gotten straight out of a nug of BR where I come from and I grew it out and it cloned fine and everything. I only got to veg it though, because I started having problems and no one could help me out at the time. I believe now that it might have been from overwatering...Also I like to bonsai on the regular and when I tried it with the BR seed I had it started to look deformed. I was unhappy with it and never even got to flower it even though I know it was a female from pre pistils. Check it out when I had it

The leaves curled and shit, but it was healthy and kept growing. I just thought it might have been a bad seed but by the looks of your BR maybe Bullrider in general is just sensitive to overwatering? Maybe over nooting? It didn't really burn too much though, but anyway. Thanks for info guys, like I've said before I love this site everyone is here! Peace!

oh yeah I agree a, I just remember the Rancho Bernardo kids with the P had just aquired the bullrider at around the same time as my buddy got it and was one of those too expensive clones at the time when people were paying too much for one clone. I swear everytime I see the BR its a little different. I just noticed that the real lemony hazier version hasnt been around in a minute in our circle I think due to they werent producing that much and the main girl that was offing it didnt like paying an arm an a leg a pound. Then my buddy gave it to one of my friends that went to Humboldt and didnt do a whole lot with it, but did manage to grow a good little 5 pack outdoor and that truely is a plant I think just is that much better OD. it got denser, more thc and the lemony flavor got a more earthy taste that just made it that much better ya know. A lot of old schoolers might know the girl that was getting rid of a lot of the P and a little of the BR. but agree , I just know that the afghan x BR my buddy had he had made. Hes a pretty well known guy in the east county and knows quite a bit of people. Im just more or less talking about what he was giving away. I think a lot of the stuff ccame to east county because we were giving them the most money. I dont know the original growers personally, I just remember how it came around. This guy was also one of the first med patients I knew too, I remember thinking it was cool in 97-98 that he had a med card for something, but I just knew this guy really didnt have a med problem, but he was greedy to talk about how he got it. There are a lot of east county kids down at the beach now doing a lot of things.

while there are are a few San Diego cats looking at this, and kinda talking about San Diego strains. Does anyone remember that greenhouse nug called "Vallente" (Valentay). It was a good indica denser, I think chemically fed, reguardless it was still nice when done. Pounds looked like qps. Had a unique taste though, kinda kushy, but not really. Hard to explain. Just wondering if anyone remembers this strain or maybe knows what the original is?

mine comes from a good bullrider connect. look back to page 2 and let me know what you think. how long before i should know if its a male or female. absolutely no signs at day 5.

The p91... Much rumors around this one and alot of times people would get nice weed and call it p91. Supposedly some of these guys got caught up by either the dea or local SD autorities a number of years back. It was even in the newspapers and on the internet news saved for like 6 months. I havent seen or heard of bud called p91 in 3-5 years. What a dissappointment. :badday:

Bullrider, and hogsbreath however are still to be found in socal. I thought the sativa in bullrider was oaxacan. Mabey im wrong. afghanixHWhaze is called afgooey but it may be of different parents.

I fucking love how much attention this thread is getting! Hmmm diego, I'm not sure I could label it yet. My bullrider seed that I grew out showed signs in a short period of time even before flower. But like I said I was discouraged and threw her out.

Jeff, dude where I can I pick some of that up?? lol, anyone still going to dispensarys? I heard there only open up north after santa barbara I think...

Hey huntforhazes I didn't know that afghanXHWhaze was afghooey. That's sure interesting to know, well at least one kid out there is afgooey you said right? Sweet. Peace everyone

yeah a lot of guys did get rolled, but only one really got the time. Most served conspierecy sentences if I remember correctly. Those were the guys that were producing the quantity yea, and i too havent seen the quantity like it used to be for years as well, but there are still a few people that have clones and are growing it personally. The P91 is supposidly a really good NL Huntforhazes, its probably why you see some people getting strains to be really good and just calling it P. also the p91 was grown with the Lucas Formula when it was grown in quantity and maybe thats why the weed your friends is calling p91 doesnt look the same, cause anything grown with the Lucas formula will make a strain look completely different than if it were grown with organics or a unskilled feeding regime.

diego,
did you say p91 is an NL strain? i got my NL clones and my bullrider from the same connect! could i be sitting a a pot of gold. but of course i am!
