Probably my favorite piece of live music I've witnessed this year was Dave Rawlins' Machine. I was blessed to attend Telluride Bluegrass festival and their set was right up my alley. Also really dug The Earls of Leicester with Jerry Douglas, so proper. Love country/folk/bluegrass more than anything.

Oh, and Tina Malia. Saw her with Hans Christian this year and it was really beautiful. Would do that again 100/100. Her song writing is so warm and fulfilling, with an angel's voice. And Hans is truly a great musician, a master cello performer, and a student of many incredibly unique instruments.

Bought a Moby CD last week for 24 cents + shipping. Helluva deal. Didn't even think I'd like it, but turned out to be pretty good.

been coding engines to produce music for decades.

i think, computers, gee, insanely easy to produce infinite music with a bit of applied programming.

the music industry thinks, gee, if procedural music takes off, we'll be the fuck out of telling people what to think.

so all you people keep buying cds and prerecorded music constructed from human culture. never try to grow or be different, this could be bad for your overlords. we need reception of carefully prepared recordings to ensure maximum cultural bullshit.

:tiphat:

I've been into metal my whole life. EDM also for long periods of my life. Lately I've been getting back into classical music.

Frederic Chopin was a genius. He changed the world, doing the craziest things with a piano that no one had ever thought of or had been capable of before. Listening to his music again makes me wish I had stuck with the piano lessons as a kid.

Metallica, Ratt, Snoop Dogg, Nice n Smooth, KRS one, and that High Rollers song by Ice T. A little metal, a little old skool, and a little gangsta!

The new Body Count album is cool. ;) Is Ice T the first gangsta metal singer?
