What's the best way to start a large amount of plants, seeds or clones?

For starting a large amount of plants you have to figure out the best way that works for you.. Trial and error is genna be a major factor here you will never know till you try and see what works best for your needs ,your style of growing, your environment, ..

Clones are good , a 100 clones won't take up to much space and are easily portable,..your going to need a few mothers though you,ll end up with a uniform crop and all finishing at the same time , also good if you've got the harvest covered and can get it all in..

Seeds are also great and you can start of 100 seeds in a fairly small space , but bare in mind you always want to start off with a lot more than you expect to pull in , .. You will Never here a man complain that he has too much bud to deal with only he wished he started more or put more out, that's my moto anyway and it hasn't failed us yet,..

Personally I'd try both in your case put some clones out and seeds, I'd start of with at least double you expect to bring in at least,.. Your genna get some runts ,some males (reg seeds) , some none takers , some ripped , some eaten what ever but always compensate for casualties , many a lesson learnt in the past but follow some these steps you can't go far wrong,

Good genetics play a big part also do some reading some research look into what strains do well and have done well for others and your half way there ,as I said trail and error but get the numbers covered and you can't go far wrong....

Ok haven't posted much this year but I like this thread a lot to learn from it.

I've been guerrilla growing for 20+ years and started out with clones and then regular seeds and now fem seeds. There are positives and negatives to each method.

I like fem seeds because I dont have to have any indoor at all and that counts if you are in a non-med state. I dont have to cull males and I dont have to worry about a chance of my clones flowering early. Most of all I dont have to lug in 12 inch clones or seedlings. Seedlings started at the plot are way hardier too.

I just soak my seeds for 24-48hrs take them out in a ziplock to the predug and fertilized holes. I dig my holes when almost all the vegetation is still brown. I cover the holes with old veg from last year.

This is important to me because I don't want to come in trail blazing 2-3 ft high vegetation and digging 40 holes it sticks out like a sore thumb. Dig the holes early and mark them well.

I bring the soaked seeds and some seed starter mix around May 1st - 15th. A small bag of seed starter can start seeds in many many holes.

I also bring in 12 oz water bottles with the bottoms cut off. I plant 2 fem seeds per hole put the water bottle over them and my small wire cage (12-14 inches high and 5-6 inches in diameter) around the bottle. If you wait until May 15th vs May 1st you now have 2 feet of natural veg covering your cages and bottles. They are almost invisible because you didnt fuck with the natural vegetation around them by digging holes.

The water bottles have the cap off so they can let heat escape but they retain some moisture and heat. Come back in two weeks to check on them. Remove the bottles and transplant seedlings( only if needed) until you have at least one per hole.

Now as mention there are negatives to the method. The natural veg will out compete your seedlings and they wont get all the light compared to clearing the natural veg. I'm willing to pay that price because I don't want my shit ripped or pulled by LEO. After the two weeks you can come in and selectively remove some natural veg for better light penetration.

I have been able to do 3 plots of 20 plants for years like this. I don't agree that the seeds are too expensive especially since you said you are a experienced guerrilla. $1200 - 1500 worth of seeds is a drop in the bucket if you have been putting money back into your grow op every year.
