What to do if I can’t smoke anymore.

I also vote chewed cob.
It does take a couple of weeks for the effects to open up especially if you've been smoking- (smoking floods the synapses or something and reduces perceived effect), but once it starts to work well, it loses any sense of subtlety, and really works great all day.

One thing is to chew till it's really just a liquid and keep chewing as long as possible, chewing just briefly and swallowing (once you're tuned into the effect) works but not as quickly or as well.

You're right about the altered effects but you'll find the high you're into I'm sure. recently I've had experiences that remind me of decades ago, full body vibrating to music, questioning the wisdom of driving, trying talking to the neighbours with the -"I hope they don't notice I'm tripping" feeling etc etc, like being a teenager all over again.

I think Tang is right, because it's the whole plant the effect can be far fuller than an extract.

One possible thing to watch are the six hour munchies though
That’s probably where I’m going to end up and hope it changes somehow, but even when I didn’t use anything for a while and tried just eating cob when I started back up it took a big piece to get me feeling anything. Like, a tootsie roll size chunk.

I am cobbing an entire HonPan in my garden this year though. She’s absolutely amazing cobbed.

When unable to smoke, I mix rosin, with just enough olive oil to be able to use
an eyedropper with it, and subligual it.
The onset is very rapid and resembles the effect I get from smoking.
Not trying to say it is the equal of smoking, but it is close enough that
I am able to get by with it. Best of wishes.
What ratio are you doing? I made a ton of Holy Shit oil using the recipe here and can do 2 droppers full under my tongue. I get a little bit of initial feeling but it tapers off quickly, then about 4 hours later I suddenly get the munchies and feel like I have sea legs. 😂

Roll up a Mullein joint every night and smoke it. You'll hack all kinds of crap up out of your lungs.

BTW, cannabis smoke is not your problem. Your problem is the contaminates in and on your cannabis. I grow clean (low feed, high transpiration, only feeding the minimum needed for robust growth), use pollen/allergy filters on my intake air, and folks use my cannabis for asthma and lung problem relief.

I smoke when I am awake, all day and coming up on 40yrs of toking as well. When I use cannabis from other growers I can definitely feel the negatives of non-clean grow methods in my lungs and throat..

Edit: Severe stomach issues and cannabis? Check for a runaway H pylori infection AND make damn sure your cannabis is grown without neem oil, neem meal and azadirachtin. Area around your kidneys hurt much?
@Douglas.Curtis Is there some link between h pylori and cannabis or was this a general stomach issues comment? I ask because I personally just had to do a bout of antibiotics for h pylori.

For me vaping is what comes smoking close. But with certain devices. Sublimator, volcano or dynavap f.e. Everything that could extract as much vapor as possible with 1 or 2 hits.
When i first switched i noticed that i had to cranck up the heat near combustion to get a good hit but over the time i could turn down the heat and still get very high. But u already stated that vaping is not good for your lungs.

Have u tried icebong? It's a double edged sword. It could make smoke and vapor better by cooling it but cooling too much is bad for the lungs. I had it more than once that i smoked too much icebong because it's so smooth and woke up the next day with heavy bronchitis.

Blue camomile oil from nepal worked best so far. Had a bronchitis(from tobacoo imo) and did put a few drops in my bongwater and it cured it. Cool for me but not everyone liked the camomile hits. I'm sure just inhaling would work better but it helped while smoking so i assume thats good stuff. I have tried other camomile oils because i can't get the nepalese stuff right now and they worked less effective.

I have my problems with eddibles too. Most of the time they don"t work or just make me little sleepy.
A few months ago i tried bulletproof coffee with 2-3g+ sublimator reclaim and that was too much. One day melting with the surfaces + 3 more days just not sober. I tried bulletproof coffee with ~4 dabs bho and i just got sleepy for 2 days. I got the impression that bulletproofing the stuffed helped me to get more thc in the liver fast so it could be turned into the 11oh thc(4 dabs oral would do close to nothing for me)
Liver function is a problem in my family. My dad and i always have high gamma-gt values without drinking much alcohol(dad 0, me twice a month max. 1-2 drinks) so i always thought thats the reason eddibles won't work for me.

H Pylori is found In nearly every digestion system. The overinfection is connected to neem/aza exposure. Many folks who have issues with aza have slowed digestion and overblown H pylori issues. I dealt with it for 10 years... been trying to educate folks on the issue for almost another 10 years. ;)

In fact almost never redosing through the day.

FWIW I've found most edibles are not all that, though homemade work better than bought ones.

Now you got me wanting to open my little Honduras-Panama cob and give it a go, but it's still a bit young so I think I'll leave it for another couple months.

Age of cob definitely makes a huge difference to quality of effect.

My HonPan cobs at 3-4 months smoked were really good, but they’re approaching a year now and they are phenomenally good.

I use a 4 ounce bottle with an eyedropper in it. I start out with adding rosin from strong cannabis, OG and glue combos work real well.
I keep the rosin in the freezer on parchment paper, which allows me to roll up the rosin so that it will fit through the neck of
the bottle. I let it sit in a cup of warm water to heat the rosin. When it is warm, I add just enough olive oil, so that I can pick it
up with the dropper when it is warm. Then I add a real small amount more, the idea being that I will have to warm it up a little
less when I next go to use it. I am pleased with it when I have to let it sit in a cup of hot water for a few minutes to get it
soft enough to use with the dropper.
The effect comes on similar to but just slightly behind smoking- 3- 5 mins after consuming, it feels much like I
did bong hits or burned one.

I’ll give that a try. It’s fairly similar to what I’m doing with the holy Shit oil though. I’ve been blending 10g of rosin with just enough coconut oil to make it useable, plus the other oils involved in it.

Interesting thread. I'm a little younger than you, but have had a similar experience recently. I smoke a lot but have noticed it taking a toll on my lungs and throat at points (throat when smoking dabs or hash). I'm a bong smoker and always have been, every other method still gets me high, but just not the same way. I had this discussion with a friend of mine who used to be a big wave surfer and he gave me some interesting advice that I've also not seen in this thread. Exercise. Not your run of the mill cardio or strength training (thought I'm sure that helps), but breathing exercises, most specifically diaphragm exercises and yoga related exercises. Aside from the obvious lung improvements, it helps with blood circulation, which is very important in metabolizing the beneficials of cannabis. It's helped massively with the heavy lung feeling I used to get when hitting the bong too many times in a week and I'm still smoking the same amounts. I did also invest in a Volcano hybrid, but I really didn't like the ritual of using the turkey bags and I get the best high from setting the temp as high as it gets, so the whip ended up hurting my throat the same as overdoing it on dabs. I managed to get a little glass adapter that allows me to plug the whip into my bong. For me, this is the way I get the highest currently and it doesn't aggravate my lungs at all.

I do also think there is a psychological component to how high you get off different methods. Some swear only joints get them high, some swear only vapes work, etc... But I think of it kind of like sex, you get used to one way of getting off and that works so that's what you commit to, it's habitual, even if you abstain for a while. Humans get used to routine, it works for us, but committing to a new habit and changing an old one is fucking hard, tolerance breaks are good for recharging, but they're not really changing anything. Learning a new way of doing something and letting your mind get used to it before your body does is important to making that change. Great advice @Brother Nature , I would say sometimes a small break is in order. I was puffing too much I stopped enjoying it. I lowered the amount I was using by quite a few grams and mostly vaped since then, and I now use less and enjoy it more. I do want to try other means on using it, so this discussion is helpful to me. I like to see what others use, it may inspire me to try some of the methods as well!
