around these parts midgrade commercial is usually chronic, big bud or beasters. Northern lights is a treat for most here ;)

Depends on the market your going for.

Some people will grow a purple strain because it catches higher prices, or maybe people are use to shitty canadian weed and they will buy any well grown bud as then you can focus more on yield then anything else.

Also, people will grow whatever strain is best for their methods. Some do hydro, so they search for a plant that responds better hydroponics instead of guys using soil.

If you can't find clones from someone and have to grow out seeds, read this place up and down and judge by experianced growers which seeds would fit your bill. It may take awhile but patience is key to finding that special plant.

Ouch... :fsu:

Sh*tty Canadian weed? Um, OK. :pointlaug

Did a Mountie bang your mom or something? Dude - we take great pride in our weed, and the US gov't says we are the biggest exporter of high end weed in the world.

Plus, we at least have had a brief window of legal weed in the past few years. I'm proud to say I smoked a J in front of the local cop shop, in plain view of several uniformed and plainclothed popos. They didn't crack my head open because weed was legal then.

Knock Canada - no biggy. Knock me - I love it. :sasmokin:

But our weed is awesome, and I'd love a chance to smoke some with you to prove it.

Here's hopin' a big bag of primo Kelowna dank lands in your lap. :yummy:

Peace and Canadian pot to you and yours.

i dont think it was a knock at canadian weed, of course there is great weed up there. the problem is that it stays up there, all the canadian weed ive seen in the last 4-ish years has been half-way dried hay-smelling shit that looks good in a bag.

the problem is that people who couldnt grow caught on to the fact that canada had gotten a good reputation for exporting high quality weed so they started trying to do the same without knowing dick about it. so now, the good stuff stays in canada and the us only gets the shit weed. its worse than what comes out of mexico.

but on the thread topic, thats like asking what personal growers grow. different strokes for different folks. depends on many factors usually including where you are and what the market is like.

It's all good - my protest was mostly tongue in cheek...

And for all my posturing about Cdn. weed - I have none, my friends are all out, and my grow is in reveg right now, so I can't even snip a small piece for me to blaze.

So I'd love some sh*tty brick weed right now - I'm a smoke slut, and if it's gonna buzz me, I'll smoke it.

LOL..whoa clam down there buddy. Nothing against you and your brothers up their smoking off the good green. I was just making a generalization about the crappy shit that comes out of canada (aka beasters) . Thats all it was, shit I've personally never even seen bad herb come out of Canada, but I'm sure thats because the guys I've known from there know their shit. Besides you can't really judge a product by anything other then it's grower. High&Lonesome has the idea, I was just giving the kid advice as outside of my home state and this site I've met very few people that even know what good weed looks like.

Eh, but what do I know. I've probably been stuck up on this mountain in Norcal for too long.

Depends on grower's needs as much as consumer demand.

If space or electricity are at a premium, you want a heavy yielder. If not, you can go for potency and/or taste. If time is at a premium, short flowering period comes into play. If stealth is a must, low-odor is the way to go.

in my area nobody really grows true commercial strains,..but there are some heavier yielders goin around : dogshit, shishkaberry, trainwreck, dynamite, Northernberry, budzilla, alaskan thunder fuck(or Mantanuska if u prefer), to name a few...
some do alot better outside than indoors and vice versa..

i think its a clone only now but it was so popular it shouldnt be too hard to get ahold of regardless of where u live(assuming yer in europe or north america)....perhaps im mistaken on that but most people ive met have smoked or grown shishkaberry before
