My daughter's back in cell phone connectivity and about 2.5 hours from her home in the Mat-Su Valley now.

She did OK, fished by herself in 2 different spots, though didn't catch her limit of 25 that she'd hoped for. She was a bit bummed about that.

No bear or human incidents, and she's exhausted now.

Waiting to hear back from an old acquaintance and from my older son to see if either of them are up for a decent drive on Sunday, and dip-netting on Monday, at which point that huge plug of fish numbering 61,000 from last Sunday ought to be in the area we'd be dipping.

I might still be driving down tomorrow by myself, but I'd be going down the river alone.

As I've now tilled the potato field 3 times and am preparing to go spread a buttload of steamed bone meal and Alaska fish meal all over, then till it in, ph test, and finally do a till-and-hill, and my left hip's complaining a bit.

Still need to set up the folding card table out in the driveway with the shooting rest, and the folding plywood target stand, and help my wife sight in her scoped .22 rifle she acquired last year some time(?), and then mark the square tubing on the bases of the roller guides for the boat trailer, take a steel cut-off wheel to them, then use a smaller speed square to template more precisely for the orange plow flags to mount them with better uniformity than I did the last time. And the mothers in the basement that have been angry with me for a long time.

Standard departure shit: do the 21 chores or projects that have been ignored for months on end, and at the last moment when there's 25 things to do for the immediate trip at hand, instead catch up on all the other shit.
