I saw Ian Hunter with Mick Ronson back in 1979 at the Paramount theater in Portland OR. They were great but the opening band was Nick Gilder. He sang that song Hot Child in the City. I remember people booing while he was on stage. I don't know how he ended up as the opening band. He sucked pretty bad. This was back in the day of general admission before reserved seating. In order to get a good seat you had to get to the show early and sit through the crappy opening bands.
