Everytime I try to find out info on this strain it just shows that it's mostly skunk and a 50/50 split of Indica and Sativa. What strains were crossed to make Cali-O? or is it a special pheno of a certain strain. Any help is appreciated.

Ok! we got two different ones. Which one is legit? The Thai x Afghani x Acupulco Gold sounds more like what it should be.

There are several seed companies who have done work with the clone of calio. Dutch Passion, CCC, and countless hybrids. If you can get your hands on the orange pheno, you will love it. You open the jar and it is like opening a jar of mandarin oranges. Not kind of like oranges....straight up ORANGE!! I like to think of the pheno we have as special, but in all honesty we found it in a pack of ten from DP. I have never had smoke that tasted like this. Even the roaches taste great!!

one of the best strains ever! a little molasses and a good flush/cure make the magic.

it's the luck-of -the-draw,,, most plants we wouldn't touch with a barge-pole,,, but every now and then some plants have the "skunky orange" scent/smell/taste.

The best "live" bubble-hash pon the LGA thus far was from CaliOrange

Royal Orange by Flying Dutchman is more skunky overall :D

I'm not sure what is in it but Hemcy's is the most orangey smelling, more sweet than orange taste but the potency of hemcy's is 2x that of any of the four brands that i've tried.( sensi, DP, spice brothers and HGF). Hemcy's is the only one that is 65% indica/ 35 sativa and out performs the others hands down in all departments. Sensi's, Dutch Passion, spice brothers, these are all 7.5 - 8. Hemcy is a 9.5. I was just thinking, I can't name 10 strains of pot from any company, sativa or indica that is more potent than Hemcy''s orange. I smoked my first joint in 1967- Ive smoked pot from every where in the world. I judge ak 47- white widow as 7.5. Hemcy's orange makes those 2 strains look like indiana ditch weed and thats no exageration. Consitent -10 pops will give you 7-8 the same and 1 or 2 that lean just a little to either side but of no significance. At least 5 females in every pack. Give it a try and you'll know it as i do. I have found one sativa leaning male that I'm crossing to Deep Chunk to add just a touch of red -eyed stupor.

I got a pack of California Orange from Nirvana. I'm just waiting to grow them. It's next on my list though.

that isnt the same as what they used to stock ,, i grew some a few years ago and kept a clone that was sativery and very orange , but the more recent stock i have grown from them was more indica , a bit orangy , but seeemed to have the musty indica in there too , not the same as a few years back ...

It really don't matter if it's Indica or Sativa dominant as long as it has the orange taste. Thanks for the info though.

CF i hope you have better luck w/nirvana cali o than i did for my 1st grow ever i dropped 5 cali o,5 n.l.@ all10 of my sadpxsk#1 freebies. All of my n.l.'s poped 3 for 10 on the freebies and 0 for 5 on the cali o.I still have 5 and will let them soak longer next time.Thinking back its probly my fault as the n.l.'s and freebies had tails that i didnt want to get to long so i put the cali o down at the same time figureing some people just sow seed outdoors and they pop.well i guess thats what being a noobie's all about, makeing mistakes and learning from them.

Now that's sayin somethin!!!

Me too - I'd love to get an orange that consistent - better order some while I can! Thanks GP!

I've tried a keeper Cali-O from dutch passion(courtesy of a friend) and it smelled during the veg period like citrus...not quite "Orange" but a definite citrus smell......the taste was not at all orange--just like a good slightly hashy taste with a slight citrus--very slight, taste on the exhale.....but then again, the pheno was probably not close to the true California Orange.

Also, I heard years ago that Cali-O was named for the bright orange hairs produced by the strain....also heard that it was a cross between an Afghani and a great Mexican strain......all info was from the internet pot sites since 96....so take it with a grain of salt.
