What is the strongest smelling gas/diesel/fuel strain in your experience?

gas like methane fart natural gas smells from weed, these tend to have strong garlic smells too

that reminds me of some tres dawg, i think it was, and actually kinda there in most stardawgs i've had and really anything with chem d in it it seems. it's in the same ballpark as:

A proper Diesel smell is like petrol smell from the pump at filling station mixed with Skunk strain Terps from early 90's ( not roadkill, i never tried) just 1st ever Skunk weed we had seen in Europe/Uk that would stink out the block like no other, would need to be in turkey roasting bags to contain the smell

i gave my mom some stardawg and she swears it was just some skunk just like she remembers from the 80s, and i see what she means... skunky ass buds i remember in the late 90s early 2ks, i do miss the real overwhelming skunk buds i remember from back then...

but then i smell some chem de la chem and honestly i don't miss the straight skunk aaas much anymore haha...

the chems do it for me.

i had some onycd that had an underlying orange peel scent, even like the blue- mold orange peels where it kinda smells like bleach or ammonia on top... except it was sweet and nutty instead of violent to the mucous- membranes.

ECSD, Chemdog & Purple Diesel have been my top gas/diesel/ fuel smelling plants that I've grown in the past. The Super Skunk pheno I just finished took the top spot for loudest smelling plant I've ever grown, but its not the loudest finished flower. The "Roadkill" Skunk I have takes the cake. Nasty death & decay smell in the jar, but when you break up the buds it's a heavy skunk fuel. The smoke is even more skunky & gassy than the ECSD.

I had some NYC diesel in amsterdam 10-15 years ago - i believe it was from soma seeds, that just smelled like fresh fuel from the gas station when you put it into your car, i cant get that smell out of my head, maybe i just gotta grow that nyc diesel.

i always turned my nose up at the idea of some dude from amsterdam cleaving a place in diesel history (and laughed when top dawg put out ORIGINAL nycd, a really amazing and medicinal strain in its own right), but i gotta say i bought a cartridge of nycd (prolly wouldn't have, but there wasn't much to choose from), and now that it's gone, i miss that weird grapefruit/ black- walnut- fruit husk taste/ smell.

there was another strain, pie crust i think it was, that had the black- walnut- fruit husk taste... very weird and off- putting at first, but addicting.

There's some semitruck exhaust smells out there, mostly on the west coast, but that's not what is meant by diesel.

When this thread was started a decade ago, "Fuel" meant sour, acidic or sharp carboxylic-derived alcohol based solvent smell with matching palatable flavor (as the smell comes from flavor molecules not fruit peel perfumes). Lemon fuel, skittles fuel, blueberry fuel. "If rubbing alcohol was drinkable, made from exotic alien citrus".



Lots of the hydro bullshit (and much of the soil supremacist bud) is overfed Phosphorus, and given no additional carbon source. This is why people argue about real vs fake cuts non stop. It's all the same shit nine times out of ten, just grown poorly, phos boosted to hell 9 times out of 10. (Rip the methyl group from dimethylallyl pyrophosphate and you have a vinyl group, which destroys the weed, redirecting the terpenoid pathway to produce all the plastic toxins/off smells instead of natural weed acids).

thanks for the info. i come from the midwest which has historically had the hardest time with being openly about weed, so back in my day ....the 90s... the weed was hopefully whatever tf you just gave up 65 for an 8th of. we got reggie 24/7 after smoking enough you get to know where it most likely game from. 90% mexican of course but oncein a while you get some really early indica looking buds that get you extra stoned, prolly jamaica, or some very thin buds that have your head floating on a string. maybe colombian or something. but the high ticket "dro dro dro" "got that diesel" "hey bro loud loud loud" "this that kush" "got that purp" "this that cookies" etc.... we just had to go on word and comparison to what the other guy says is sour diesel or ogk or cooks etc.
so when i can hear a guy correct me from thinking diesel must be talking about the exhaust smells. cuz i thought for sure thats what they must mean. lol we got gas for ever it changes names. was sour, then was kush, then was loud then was just refered to as "gas" so everyone can be straight they were talking about gasoline smells not the mostly lemony limey smells of the sour diesel ogk days.


i suppose maybe i should have smelled some diesel fuel one of those days,,,but i just naturally assumed if diesel smells like gasoline then why tf call it diesel. just call it gas like everyone else calls gas gas lol.

i think the name "diesel" was around before any of the diesel/ sour diesels to just describe that loud shit and not really to say that this weed tastes like sucking on jethro's tailpipe

i think just figured out a smell, i was yerpin' on some onycd and i realized that the nutty- chlorinated- tapwater smell... the kinda like smooth- and- creamy- ammonia (you know, sans the sharp and burning 'i'm gonna suffocate and die' thing), slightly solventy thing i detect really reminds me of this:

stilton, my favorite blue cheese.

and i associate it with what i think ppl mean when they say fuel... the more there's a simple alkane hydrocarbon smell, the more there's the chlorinated tapwater smell. i don't think it's the same terpene, but an interplay. i know myrcene alone smells like a solvent. incidentally, it is a solvent, but so are other terps (stupid melty plastic bits... )

We all process smells differently, the same flower can have a very different description. I had a few people telling me they could smell grapefruit in my HeadBanger buds when for me it was smelling sharp lemon and gasoline. A friend also describe some Acid Dawg(Stardawg x Sour D Bx2) as orange smelling and again for me and most people it was more acid and bleach smelling. I'm amazed by those different perceptions of the same smells and it shows how personal and subjective odors can be.
