What is the most efficient way to grow in my tent?

thanks for the comparison. it makes me feel better that i bought the sun hut instead of the growlab.

i didn't know that the GL and DR are shorter than the sunhut, i thought they were all around 7' in height - height is definitely important so the sun hut wins in that area. i did get a chance to feel the material of the GL and DR at the store and you are right that the sunhut tent is definitely thicker.

i just bought another sunhut 4x4 last month which i believe is the newest version and it didn't come with any windows. it did come with venting sleeves with drawstrings similar to the dark rooms and growlabs. it also has a zippered back door and has a couple of more vent and wire holes than my older version.

one thing i noticed is that the tent didn't hold in leaking water well even with the extra piece they give you to lay on the ground. i had an ez clone 120 (about 10 gallons) which i didn't close all the way one day and the water ended up leaking into the tent then eventually out of it.

i guess we can compare likes and dislikes when you post your new thread.

You must really have the old DR though because both of mine are pretty nice quality and don't sound like yours at all.

How does everyone feel about the Homebox? I have two of them (S and XS), but haven't used them yet. They seem to be high quality to me! The price was right too!

Ordered from BGH a year ago. This was the DR before DR merged and released the growlab. The grow lab is basically the same damn quality just better design, marginally better support, and better zippers. They say they made the tent thicker but I damn sure couldn't tell it was thicker in real life than it was before and it was still way thinner than Sun Hut.

I am not bashing a product or anything. This is 100% my hands on experience. When I went to the grow store to order new tents I was making him order the old sun huts (the silver lined one after the off gassing incident hit the tent industry this was their 'fixed' tent) he had in before the grow labs came out. He asked why I didn't want the multiple growlabs he had in stock and I toldem exactly what I thought of it. He had a big one set up and everything in the corner. Same damn material mostly.

The exciting thing for me was getting to see that he had the new Sun Huts in his big book that I did not even know had come out yet :D

Growlab and DR is purely really good marketing and horrible quality when compared to sun hut even the old version without all the cool windows and such. I will gladly move 1 or two plants out to water than deal with a DR/Growlab or spend money one, but luckily the new Sun Huts are out and have all the new windows etc.

I don't work for any company I grow weed. And I damn sure wouldn't be so adamant about something that I did not know and experience first hand.

That's the old version sun hut in those pictures of which is still better quality I got a room full of rez gear in mine now and it will be used again as soon as it is done flowering just has to be moved.

I would've bought the old version over the DR or Growlab if I hadn't seen on the page he turned to in his ordering book, the spread of the new one of which I had no idea was even out. I looked on the internet and could not find a new one, but yet my hydro guy had it in his new wholesale book (or whatever you call it) and ordered it for me.

Let me try to find a newer version sometime tonight on the internet and if I do I will post the link. I am guessing there are probably a lot of companies with old stock of every grow tent.

New one has new vent intake and outtake with no need for the metal reinforce accessory for the vent hole which was actually better than the sock on the DR cuz the sock on the dr wears out if you have to move too much 6 inch vent tube through it (not sure if they improved the sock on the grow lab but I can check next time I am in the store as he has it set up). On the new sun huts it is a sock but better quality. It also has the windows etc....Old sun huts don't have a window but you only have to move a plant or two out to water everything in the 4x4's.

They have to have an official website for sun huts like they do everything else its manufactured by sunlight supplies.

Also the new sun hut cost me $239 a piece for the 4x4 and I see in google everyone charging ~200 for the older version.

Alright I can not for the life of me find the new version on the internet not even on Sunlight supply website...

So I took a damn picture of the box lol. Might have to tilt your head sorry don't feel like reloading etc but as you can see this one has the window and new vent sock etc and its is more reflective...for sure. When they say steel frame they mean it.

I just wanted to tell you guys that that Grow Lab isn't a replacement for the DR tents. I've read that a lot and been told that on the phone by several places. When I was trying to get a tent (calling around asking specifically for a Dark Room) everyone kept telling me that the Dark Rooms were no longer made and had been replaced by the Grow Labs but that's not true. I forget exactly what the deal is with all of that but I think the company that makes those Grow Labs used to be a distributor for Secret Jardin Dark Room tents. They decided to start making their own and that's where the Grow Lab came from. I know there's more information about it on here somewhere. I just wanted to let you know because all of the places I called looking for one came right out and said that the Dark Rooms had been discontinued and the Grow Labs were the replacement. But they're not made by the same people as far as I know.

I agree with you about the Dark Room being kind of a piece of shit. And people tell me I should hang my Can 66 up in this thing  I don't care what the manufacturer says, there's no way I would trust hanging my filter up in this thing. I didn't even like how far the pole sagged from the weight of my Super Sun 2 in here. I ended up zip tying the pole that the light hangs from to the two poles that run front to back so that it had more support. I positioned those two poles that run the opposite direction from the one the light hangs from directly over where I have the light attached to that pole because it hung down quite a bit. Mine also leaks light all over the place. Not severely or anything, but I don't trust it to have a light on in the room that the tent is in when the lights in the tent are off. When I first got this I had my 600 watt HPS on inside the tent and zipped it all up and closed the door to the room that the tent is in (it was pitch black in the room) and I couldn't see any light coming out of the tent at all. I was actually pretty impressed. But just a few days later I started noticing light coming out of the stitching holes on the corners. And like was already mentioned the zippers leak light. I sleep in the room that I have this in and the light comes on at 6AM, it's got a 1000 in it now, but even with the 600 still when the light comes on the side window glows while the rest of the side stays black. I don't know why the window itself glows like it does and not the rest of that side but it does. I did the same thing too with the Gorilla duct tape, I went up the corners/seams with it because of the light leaking and the stitching "stretching". I'm not impressed with that floor liner either. It doesn't stay in place. If I ever bought another one I would get a different brand for sure. After reading your description of the Sun Huts I think I'd rather have one of those. :wallbash: Luckily someone I know wants to buy this thing. :woohoo:
