I don't understand, simply just saying "PersonX is growing" is not enough to obtain a warrant.

that is probably true, an anonymous call to to the local police station is not a very credible piece of information
a sworn statement can be another deal, that will probably have more credibility
and you're right about how the law is supposed to work, but some aspects of our law system don't work they way they are supposed to work
probable cause is a judgment call, and some judge's judgment is not very good

From what i understand I agree with invisibleempire. From what I have read and heard, they need more than a person saying u are growing. They need proof or evidence for the crime being commited, and the warrant must state what they are searching for. Say they come in with a warrant to obtain an individual, and they stumble on a grow, they cannont prosecute for the grow. They may seize your things, but they cant charge you for the grow. It must state in the warrant, search and seizure of plants, contraband, or drugs. Ive had this same thing happen to me. Police came in with an arrest warrant on a woman that hadnt even live in the house for the last 10-15 years. They found my grow, some oz's. they used scare tactics to try to trick me into writing a statement on myself, but I knew better and I knew my state laws. I seen the warrant before they made their entrance, and there was nothing on it about illegal narcotics or a grow. They did take my flowering girls and lighting tho. Best of luck bro. This is exactly why noone knows about my grow, ESPECIALLY my girl. Dont let anyone in on your secrets. If a warrant is obtained with bullshit evidence, a good lawyer can have your case thrown out.

I can understand though, if a crazy ex wanted to put on the record a sworn statement and testify as a witness, things may be a bit different...

thing is, many (even crazy ex's) don't do that because they realize how much bullshit they have to go through, and nothing benefits them in the end except seeing you in trouble...and they weigh the pros and cons of going to court multiple times, being a witness, depending on how high up the grower is if he is involved in any gangs or is a nut case he may try to kill her, you never know...

fear and paranoia are 2 things you MUST overcome as a grower. if you are in constant fear or paranoid, you not only make yourself stressed out which can cause serious health issues but you also change your outside 'image', of which your neighbors, friends, family can all notice...and suspect something...

at the same time you need to have a level of rationale and put proper security measures in place and use common sense...don't be lax...but don't be crazy either...

i've overcome this by simply "forgetting" about the grow when i'm not near it or tending to it. live my life as I would if I didn't grow...and it has served me well as i grew in my parents house for over 2 years and they didn't know a thing
