Ha, the money for the MDX didnt come from trees at all. But it helps a bunch in keeping cops from worrying about what Im into. Its a very cool luxury SUV that doesnt draw the attention of Escalades and Navigators. And itll kick a Nav's ass head to head in pretty much every category.

The funny part they dont show on cops is where everyone on the scene has already run the background of who theyre dealing with so they know what is likely to be in their car.

I have been pulled over lots of times and never asked boo about drugs or guns and never searched.. why? proably the worst reason thats truthful is Im white.. second is I dont have one criminal item on my adult record. If either of those werent true I would expect Ide have to deal with it at every traffic stop, just like everyone else does.

hmmm... i know tons of people who are white and get hassled by the pigs. But they look the part, your probably clean cut. Because i know when i havent shaved in a while and wear my "comfortable" clothing I usually get hassled. A Lexus is a glorified Toyota. They take the "T" off and put and "L" on when it hits land here in the US, just in case you didn't know. It's made by the same people with the same manufacturing process. All you get in a Lexus is the name and a few dress up items that make it look more expensive.

Example, Toyota Camry and Lexus ES300. SAME CAR!! Toyota Highlander and Lexus RX300, same vehicle, different look. Exactly the same.

I used to sell Toyotas at one time and it made me laugh at all the people who pay an extra $10K just for the name.

You know they don't have Lexus in Japan? They are all Toyotas. Americans are so ignorant they think Lexus means something special.

verite makes a good point, the best thing u can do where i'm at if u don't want to get hassled by cops is be white...having said that, when i have gone to areas of the country with not as many black folks i have been profiled for being scruffy in a muddy car with three other scruffy white guys...but around here unless u have hit something with ur car, punked the 5-0 deliberately, are doing more than 10 over or driving w/o ur lights at night u just aren't going to get pulled over if ur white...

I happen to believe a toyota is the best economical car money can buy. In short, yes i know a lexus is a gorified toyota. Just like a lincoln navigator is a glorified expedition, and the mercury suv is a ford explorer. but your overlooking the fact that toyotas and lexus(same thing, call it what you will) are 2 of one of the best cars around for the average fuck. If you disagree than you either enjoy driving offroad, or your a redneck.

Lexus cars arent just rebadged Toyotas! They share the same body but after that they are very different. Sit in a Camry then sit in an IS350 and tell me they are the same car.....

Thats one thing I like about the Acura line, many of the cars are not just the same body with different interior. Sure, my MDX shares a lot of components with the Pilot (before the 2007 MDX was released, that is) but they are two totally different looking cars with different options. Mine has a factory navigation system....before most any other mainstream manufacturer started installing factory navs. Plus Acuras are a bit cheaper than Lexus counterparts.

I love toyotas, I used to sell them. They are one of the best built vehicles on the planet, second to none. I have sat in many vehicles side by side at the Toyota southeast port where every car in fl, ga, al, south carolina, etc all come from through one rich SOB named Jim Moran. I have watched them re-badge toyotas to be Lexus. No joke. I said the camry and ES300, they are almost exactly identical. Same chassis, same engine, same drive train, different head/tail lights and emblems.

There are a few models in each you will find different, but that is just a way for them to help you jsutify spending more money for the brand.

Either way, they are all good makes, Toyota/Lexus, Honda/Acura. To someone who has been on the inside, it's not worth the extra money unless you're stuck on status and extra goodies.

There is only a few cars for me and there all rx 7s 79 through 2003 maby a cosmo or and rx8 when mazda find a good engine/ turbo combo to make the chassi preform to what it was built for.

i valet on the weekends and have driven pretty much every car on the road. stoned2death is right about some toyota/lexus models, but other models are completely different. just like honda/acura, nissan/infiniti. show me a toyota that compares with the gs430 or an is350. doesnt exist. there are some lexus models that any toyota just cant fuck with.
