probably a Honda... something that will get you from point a to b, and not have you spending most of your time/money at shell.

I'd go with an import from the mid 90's, because it's old enough that you can still work on it yourself (not having to go to a dealer because you have to have them hook up their equipment just to work on the damn car), good gas, parts are cheaper, will cost less, and has much better value then a Ford Focus.

This is the money you could be saving if you grow

I would go for a Jeep Wrangler or a Convertible. Like a LeBaron GTC.

Anyways here's a sortable list from autotrader.com.

Dont get the focus, my grandma had one and it rusted like hell and she had to sell it a few years later (was brand new). She got a Scion and loves it lol.

If I had 6k and wanted a car I would probably find a clean 5.0 stang and use the rest for a new rear end and powerplant. If you want somthing just to get around in pretty much any toyota is great, I have one for winter or when my fun car is up on jack stands. I like toyota because they generaly come with more power than honda and IMO are a little better usualy, hondas dont do it for me.

Thing is for a toyota or honda your going to have to settle for more miles, less options, or an older car... but they both USUALY build bulletproof cars.

Any Camry V6 is a nice car.

I'd try and snag a Sentra or if you can find one that's decent a Maxima/Altima. I'm 6'2" and I can drive my friends Sentra without any 'height' issues. An Altima or Maxima would give more room, and some more options but reliability wise there won't be any change....Nissans are just damned reliable.
