2lbs per k seems to be the norm over the pond I've seen one done with the urkle cut very impressive

most of them grow the quality stuf as they get a better return but the best one for cc I've seen so far is the mcfly cut that the swamp guys have 3lb plus per k 9 per light minimal veg

I see the yank cash croppers cater more for price as opposed to weight.

They know a pound of OG will sell for twice the price as a pound of crit mass. They grow desirable strains as opposed to heavy yielders/quick finishers.

This is my experience when visiting cali. Dont know about other states. Saying that in NY they were all over OG just like cali.

Here on the other hand whatever crops quickest and heaviest is still likely to demand the same price as any OG as long as it has bag appeal. The british market is far less discerning.

CC is whats known in the business as "cash crop" of which nobody on here condones, so tread carefully when mentioning cash, prices of weed etc as on all growers forums its forbidden and then follows the bans. We all grow on here purely to satisfy our great hunger for the plant no matter how many lights and rooms we have, we just love the growing and smoking of the plant ;)

I think you are getting confused with the UK site there mate.... They have an insane paranoia about any mention of more than 5 plants and get shitty with anybody suspected of growing "enthusiastically"... Here, you can mention a lot more, but just do not be stupid and spell out things that you do not need to. Have a look at Mad Matt's thread on IC

is blue dream in the uk ? i was thinking of others like green crack, bullrider , m39(canadian) or trainwreck(?)

Blue Dream is an outdoor producer, indoors she is not in the ball park. There was a good thread/postings about this on IC recently, could not find it, but remember it...

Trainwreck is in the UK, EU, as is SPG and Big Bud, a friend recently had a very nice crop with some BB in the mix, surprised to say he liked the result, as did others...

Fourteen pages and all very interesting but I'm still none the wiser really.

When someone pays twenty quid, or whatever, for a coupla grams, what variety is likely to be in the bag?

al sum it up Harry

basically whatever is easy to grow with less fuss speed and bag appeal and most of all what people want,no point growing something you can't pass on again that's the bag appeal usually the smellier the better for some bizarre reason they think if it's stinks it's better

I've had white Russian before totally bland harsh and hardly any smell but boy was it strong

Hi mate the eternal dilemma for commercial growers with a conscience is what to grow. Mangolian Indica is a favourite down South. Bagged and sold wet. Big yield looks purty and that's that.

I know people in the Mildands growing primo exodus cheese and they won't get anymore per K than normal schwag, so why bother? Pearls before swine. The chavs buying don't help themselves in the end...

I dunno why people are so down on dealers and commercial growers, without them, I don't suppose any of us would be enjoying a toke. There's shit and there's shit whatever side of the purchase/sale divide you're on!

Bit of a mixed bag down my way really, you see alot of female seeds strains, iced grapefruit, widow x big bud and so on, then there's the many cheese knockoffs, bigbuddahs and blue cheese, and then you've got some that grow huge swazi skunk. Oh and greenhouse seeds are fairly popular it seems. Most of the first timers like to buy white widow seeds.

The blue cheese is usually nice I have to admit.

BD gets mentioned all the time in Outdoor Cali grows, it works very well there, but, the same clone done indoors, they say it is far from being a producer, so does not get run.

Outdoors is different to Indoors, you do not pay for the big halide in the sky, so you can grow large plants that then take 3 to 4 months to flower, done like that, they yield more than some Indoor champions, also, you indoor plants often rot their fat [indoor] productive flowers when it gets wet.

Sativa Dom plants outdoors can usually take more rain than most Indoor growers can believe, the C99 x Haze from Hazy Lady I entered in the 420 had survived 8" of rain in one morning as well as a good months morning dew... nobody noticed : )

I think whatever commercial growers crop is often a mystery even to themselves, some buy in clones accepting the vendors often spurious strain-name,you can label anything cheese nowadays and its going to shift, back in the day it was northern-lights,AK47 or White Widow, all have been in favour as top commercial,in truth anything that can be chopped and still look good at 7 weeks,8 weeks if they have a conscience, and stinks to high heaven,lime-green I was once told is the hallmark of good weed  anything will shift, plod and prohibition have seen to that, the average brit smoker doesnt really have much of a choice, note I said AVERAGE smoker as not everyone knows a grower or a network of growers.

if your looking for puerly commercial and starting from seeds, i'd look into something like next generations dynamite. its a heavy yeilder, good quality and finishes quick. heres some info:

Next Generation Dynamite is a squat growing Indica strain, well known for it's heavy yield and high quality bud. Dynamite is very fruity, thick with resinous smoke. It's cannabis seeds produce a deep grapefruit smell that finishes with pink/purple colours as the buds ripen. Dynamite is our stabilized version of Canada’s famous Grapefruit clone. It's cannabis seeds flower indoors within 50 days and can be harvested outdoors early October. Dynamite's structure is short, branchy and grows wide outdoors. Winner 2005 Oregon Medicinal Awards.
