A key factor here is the end product is what we are looking for in what we call POI (Quality of High). In contrast, the leaf pattern is secondary to the POI. My recommendation would be to take cuts of each plant. Then, grow them out and sample the POI.

Another key factor is that when one goes out of the norm to preserve a line (alas HWI), then there is much work needed to stabilize the line. I don’t know where SeaKay Two is on continuing the HWI works.

If one was to put in the work to find the great Hawaiian heirlooms within HWI, then these would be very high value in reference to selling them or preservation of a Hawaiian Heirloom. Not many folk want to put in the work. Cash in on the quick and easy- yes. But- real work like CK2 are very few.

Real true men and women stand on solid ground of respect and integrity. A man amongst men. Real men, like Uncle Bid are very few. Anyway~ thats what life has taught me.

Be sure I took cuts.. I plan to go through some hawaiian lines, keep some outstanding individuals and then hit it with some different hawaiian line. I have already kona gold, blue paki x thai cuts.. and now maybe HWIMF if I will find something exceptional. but that will take few years... thank you for opportunity to grow it.

keep it up.

2006 is a few years after i did a trade with him, 5 years or so ,
he lost the stuff we did the trade with initially for a while he told me ,
he must have found someone that still had it ,i recall he did some crosses with molokai frost ,
anyhow im pretty sure he only called it hawaiin web when i first talked with him in 2001 ...

he never said anything about the quality of the pot it produced either ,
said he wanted me to sample it for myself to be sure it was as he thought , quite potent ..
i wonder if the current stuff is the same as it was over 20 years ago ....

i did send a bunch of them as a back up to gn to stick in his fridge ,
but during the drama with pom , they disappeared apparently ,
really bummed me out , even when i did what i thought was a good plan to back stuff up,
i still lost them ,, lol ,,
somethings just arent meant to be it seems ....

too bad, those seeds didn't make it..

okay but let call it HWI to avoid confusion with hawaiian web from Doc D...

it started to stink, those indica phenos, like coffee and skunk. sure I let you know how it smokes :D

Aloha bros. Just wanted to chime in. I’m also growing some webs/ducksfoot and it is very different from the webs I grew up with. I am also from hawaii. Big island. And remember seeing different webbed leaf plants. My favorite we nicknamed strawberry web. More rounder shaped leaves. A lot of one finger fat round ones like a strawberry. Red stems with pink hairs and leaned more on the indica side. i don’t see those anymore. But then again only started growing again for two years now and have been buying Hawaiian strained seeds in hopes of reliving my high school days. Has anyone grown Hilo hammer? I can’t even find pics but thinking of buying that. Also does anyone know of any seedbanks or private to purchase some old school Hawaiian beans. Mahalo in advanced

Last I saw Strawberry Web was in the early 2000's. A friend of mine grew it and the White Widow in Paradise Park. It was around a long time in the Puna/Hilo area. I'm pretty sure it was a mostly indica sativa/indica cross. The one I saw was 4 feet tall or so and most indicas I tried growing while in Hawaii stayed really small. There was another darker leafed and sharper edged web plant that was either pure sativa or more of a sativa (sativa/indica cross) that I grew in Hawaii in the early 90s. It was much larger (8' or so) and had a stronger (kind of gasey) smell than Strawberry Web. The buds were small but dense and grew with calyxes stacking up on each other. Plants handled the insane rain and humidity very well in the upper Puna rainforest. Seeds came from a bag of mixed seeds from a local seed breeder. No idea where this other Webbed plant originally came from.

Yea man that’s the one. I wish I had access to those. I have some different hawaiian heirlooms that I’m going to start this spring. What do you have growing at the moment

I remember meeting a fellow, almost 20yrs ago now, who was bringing Ducksfoot to Colorado from Australia. If I remember correctly... Now I'm wondering what happened with all that. :)

The only Hawaiian heirloom i kept is the Swazi from lower Puna.. Got it from a friend who grew it for years in Opihikao and Kalapana area in the 80s. It is alot more manageable than alot of the other sativas and has the high I like. Used to have a Thai called Hilo back yard ( cloned from a Hilo back yard) and Swahili (a real viny old sativa) a friend grew in Hamakuafor years. There were alot of strains back in the day. Many with no names. Some of the 90 day wonders were good, but couldn't compare to the older varieties.
What heitlooms do you have?

who was it bringing the ducks over? they may have sourced them from me since i was sharing them around back in those days ,
maybe second hand but from my stash originally ??

Aloha brada. i just purchased some Molokai frost. And also some Maui skunk dog
kona gold
puna butter
and a strain called go.
im not sure if it’s the real deal but it’s worth a shot. I moved out of puna for a few years now and relocated to Kauai. I got some ducks foot but not the island one. I bought the auto duck from dutch passion and crossed it. Looks more sativa than the Hawaiian one. i think I remember that Swazi. If I’m not mistaken some of those phenols have pink hairs early in transition?. Lmk if you ever want to part with any Swazi or anything in general. I’ve been gifted a few Beans from overgrow and purchased a few here and there. Trying to re create the old school Johnny d from Hilo. Back yard strain sounds good too. What’s that like?.
at the moment I have some purple mex going, alii mist and some Runtz finishing up. Next run will be these Hawaiians some sour diesel and some testers I’ve been gifted.
