Shuttering the economy.
Quarantining thE healthy
Govt Subsidizing corporations
Nothing about this was voted on... and has been the biggest boon for big biz and the biggest crusher of small biz in my lifetime.
Nothing conservative about a stacked deck.
Good job supporting that bullshit and for what? The country that didn’t do it is fairing better that us.

Government subsidizing big business has very little to do with Covid or conservatism. I’m not arguing that point.

I’m saying business will morph into the 21st century just like it did in the 20th century. New challenges bring new ideas. I started a new business last July. Not making a fortune, but I’m cash positive. It pays my bills and leaves me a little.

Thinking of an outdoor conference arena.

Business needs to be creative or it doesn’t deserve to exist. Nothing elite about it large or small. We owe them nothing. Covid is the rainy day we were told to expect.

Oh, and here:

"Sweden's GDP fell more than its Nordic neighbours in the second quarter of 2020, dealing another blow to its lockdown-free coronavirus strategy.

Sweden's official statistics agency said that Sweden's GDP fell by 8.6% in Q2.

In comparison, Finland's statistics body said that its Q2 GDP was down 3.2%, and Denmark's said GDP there was down 7.4%.

Norway's GDP also appears to have fallen less than Sweden's, though its measurements are out of sync with other nations. Its GDP fell 7.1% from March to May, a timeframe one month earlier."

Covid testing in Sweden is also lower than the Scandinavian avg

Sweden's cumulative covid death rate compares with the US. Righties love to point out the job Cuomo did in NYC with Covid attacking the nursing homes, well Sweden lost 7% (of 14,000) of it's nursing home residents to covid.

Covid cases in Stockholm are still ripe for a second wave.

hmm.....so a nation that left the economy openly running, did worse economically, then the one that shut down their economy next door?

does anyone else wonder how exactly thats physically possible?

so the shut shops made more money then the open shops?

When the GOV started handing out free $$ to company's that didn't need it they all had there hands out. All of the 1st stimulus $$ wasn't sent to small business owners. They sent money to people that bought themselves toys, 1 guy even bought a Ferrrari. All the unemployed where paid more than what they got working. People went on a spending bender which left most grocery stores shelves empty. Now the stores are restocked and the shutdown is over. I'm not surprised we didn't see much effect on the economy

I had to go get blood drawn today at the local clinic, upon arrival there was a couple followers of the almighty cheeto, no masks, one waS SMOKING A CIGARETTE near the front of the door so I had to walk through his exhaust. The tweaker chick didn’t even have a mask they had to give her one. Luckily the lab was in a different part of the clinic so I got out of there as fast as I could but not without a couple choice words to the guy smoking...

The question is, why did gov give OUR money to the corporations? If they were serious, they could have shut the country down COMPLETELY for 30 days, no stock market, no one pays a single bill or mortgage, only food and necessities. Instead of giving $2.5T to the corporations, they could have given every household in the US $18,000. Imagine what that would have done to the economy after it had opened back up.

It makes no sense to me to keep the economy and big businesses open part way and shut down the little shop owners. People were at home, not spending. Big businesses can reduce variable costs, but fixed costs stay the same so of course they loose money. But, who were the big winners? Amazon (in the US) ? Of course, but they will claim a big loss and get the usual tax refund.
Peace Bro

the media loves your compliance and fear..

Covid is a political Hoax and I personally feel you are all going to be angry and ashamed once you realize you were duped and were completely unaware of the fact

how can you say its a hoax? i can see a discussion about how bad it is and how best to fight it. but to deny its existence seems like putting your head in the sand. your best statistical odds are still to eat healthy, exercise and keep those vit d and c levels up. then if you get it, you have the best chance possible of fighting it off.
