If people were going into hospitals with cancer, and coming out with cancer and covid, the population would be up in arms. If you went in with something less serious and came out dead from covid cross infection, people would ask why the hospitals weren't closed.
I agree some should operate as normal and some should be converted to infectious deseases centres, but that takes time and more money. Politicians are mainly lawyers, I don't know of any who were doctors. They look to minimise liability not the risk to the public from their own actions.
If people want their area open, all they have to do is not get covid or not pass it on. But most it seems want to live their lives their way. People won't let go of freedom to save lives even in the short term. They want to be free to kill others and themselves.
In the early days, we could blame governments, or China, but now we have to blame our neighbours or ourselves.

did you guys forget that the test its self is faulty? the manufacturer clearly says you should not use it for diagnostic purposes. its only supposed to give you a reason to investigate further, but nations are accepting the positive results as conclusive, while they don't let you out of quarantine even if you test negative. why, you ask, because they admit the tests are flawed.

you guys have such short term memories, it was reported many times in the beginning how pretty much any death at the height of the virus was being classified as covid death. there were also many different doctors and hospital owners coming out saying they had been instructed to classify deaths as covid even if they didnt die from covid.

Taiwan didn't buy bunk. In a nation of 24 million they've had 7 deaths and 509 cases. Total. Multiply out their population and death numbers and they'd have 98 deaths compared to the United States' 200,000+. So maybe you could agree that a reliable test and some national protocols based on science would have been a good idea?
