I have gotten out into new circles doing activities with common interests where I can meet people but I quit doing that once I started growing and now I only date people who grow since it's easier and you both have shit at stake to lose. I meet them through friends and just getting out and doing stuff. When you meet someone that way, it will be much better than finding someone online who doesn't have the social skills to have friends and meet people in an non-internet way.

I hope that helps and truly not every woman is materialistic and fake. frankly, if she's going to all the trouble to get ready, consider it a compliment that she cares about her appearance and wants to make a good impression (even if shes heavy handed on the make up, she still wants you to like her). at least you're not complaining that she let herself go....
