developed by RUSSIAN IT professionals - thanks bud, but no thanks. do you ever search? if has a spybot attached
Yeah, I noticed over the years a number of "free" anti-spyware/anti-virus programs seem to add spyware to your computer. Then you have to pay for a good anti-virus to get rid of the new infection.

You get what you pay for, and up to $50 ain't bad to know you're secure for a year.

I have Zone Alarm's Internet Security Suite. That costs more. There is a free firewall you can get from Zone Alarm, but it doesn't have all the features needed to remove spyware or viruses.

Ok, so I was going through my spam folder this morning and I got two interesting emails from admin@RIU, claiming to be from Anonymous (or were they saying I'm Anonymous?), and giving a link. I killed the link, just to be safe.

Was this what folks were seeing when going to RIU? I didn't get anything like this from admin@THCF.

Dear Anonymous,

The purpose of this message is to inform you about the Revolution:

OCCUPY HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT IN LONDON ON NOVEMBER 5, 2012.
OCCUPY CONGRESS IN WASHINGTON D.C. ON NOVEMBER 11, 2012.

STOP WAR.
CANCEL ALL DEBT.
REDISTRIBUTE WEALTH.

Please, watch the "Nazi Banksters' Crimes Ripple Effect" movie to find out why, how, and to have sound arguments to persuade others. The movie can be easily found with a search engine.

Please, print the flyers at 2012jubilee dot info and distribute them.

Please, spread this message and the movie to everyone you know.

-Anonymous

Anonymous is a joint teenage U.K./U.S.A. hacker group that has been arrested by the authorities in both countries. so far 6 of the original 7 have been exposed and a number of secondarys have been arrested too. they run under the cloak of Lulz which is their term for LOL. even canada has a chapter and may be the last member of the 7. any Lutzsec or LutzRaft attachments should be deleted or junked. look out for Antisec as well, thank you.

Well, the world order of Banksters did screw whole Global populations financially, if you count the trickle down effect. Where's Batman when you need him?

I don't think you really understand what you're talking about here.

no, i know exactly what im talking about, being an IT professional for years and getting info still on cyberspace! my hobby was gardening which turned into mmj due to family illnesses; mainly cancer. this is by far not my first forum friend, i go back to BEFORE overgrow. i saw the first cannabis world bite the dust and still have their strain list.

i have been into the marijuana scene since the late 60's; back then we had the underground newspapers and magazines and computors were housed in warehouses. take care!

I don't care how long you've been an "IT professional," what you stated in your previous post is a clear indication that you do not know what is really going on, nor do you understand the background on the group that you are talking about. I'm not saying this to be an asshole, I'm saying this because it helps no one when folks make definitive statements about things that they don't understand themselves.

I want to also make it clear that I am not defending the basement-dwelling neckbeards known as Anonymous...god knows they're a bunch of worthless schmucks.

Thanks for the heads up Skip. I just ran Spybot and only found Babylon Toolbar and Double Click. Guessing they are not too bad.

I was worried as I also post at one of the effected sites.

This is correct to a degree. Anonymous has expanded way beyond its origins in the US & UK. It is now a worldwide phenomenon, and the most recent arrests took place in Spain and Mexico and Holland.

Anonymous is the broadest group. Subchapters include LulzSec, AntiSec, LulzRaft (which I'd never heard of until Serious6 mentioned the group), and other more local groups.

Anyone can act as Anonymous, however there are some senior Anons who really know their shit. There's supposedly a group of them that decide on targets, and I know the LEOs are after them.

But as what little "control" over this group gets decentralized and more localized others make decisions on what to do and who to target.

I couldn't believe they targeted the Mexican drug lords... That would not have ended well. Interesting that they have info on public officials who are part of the gangs, and were going to release that info into the public domain. That would've been interesting, but a few anons would've literally lost their heads over it.

I actually hosted Anonymous (channers) on another site when their website went down. Now THAT was an interesting, learning experience... ;)

And don't be surprised if there's some Anonymous floating around these forums... They're everywhere! :)

And the senior Anonymous are not teens anymore.

Nor are they all basement dwelling nerds as the media chooses to portray them.

I believe some of them are true freedom fighters, and that's what I respect.

They can bust someone here and there, but they can't stop the meme.

For every one they arrest four more take their place.

I don't want to hijack the thread but follow Anonymous on twitter if you are interested in getting a little insight in to what they are up to.

Dr Web isn't a typical Anti Virus Prog-- At least the Free version isn't a real time type thing-- It is for when you suspect you have a problem...you run it-- Check it out...it is quite extensive and scans for root kits also-- :tiphat:
