I guess because the flower that was growing on top of the leaf got pollinated? :)

What you have there is unusual but not unheard of. I've never seen a good explaination for why this happens but I've seen numberous examples over the years with various strains grown by various growers, that had flowers growing out of the fan leaves. I've heard people suggest it happens alot with people who use Super Thrive. Did you use that or some other B vitamin supplement?

okay i am just a nube...i am about 21 days out and noticed a few problems i may have been over ferting...wont leaves die off when the plant reaches maturity so could this be it?

Strain: Lifesaver

Medium: FFOF

Nutes: GH flora series...i was giving them double strength for some dumb reason till i read feeding directions now i am at what the feeding sched calls for w a tsp molasses every other feeding when just using water...oh yeah they are now getting no more N

Any ideas...should i flush with straight water shes in a 7 gal smart pot with just ffof no perlite mix so drainage may be a problem...

Thanks All You Old Farts!

I'm not HK but looks to be over fertilized a bit i would probably start to weem it off its nutes anyway flushing wouldn't be a bad idea being that its nearing the end of its life cycle you dont want alot of nute build up in her anyway. You definitely dont wanna keep her soaked either though when was the last time you watered them?

wow that was fast thx..she just got watered today w water and molasses...should i lay off the molasses for now too or give it till day of chop 2-3 weeks left...i dont think ive been overwatering cause i only water when shes light i was referring to the flush causing swamp mud in the pot? or will i be alright running 10-12 gallons of water through her

The molasses would probably be fine for another week or two but i like to weem them off their nutes early cause usually in soil i've notice that the nutes tend to build up so you probably have plenty in there to finish them up already and if you didn't already know obviously dont flush with your molasses solution. Keep checkin in too cause i'm sure HK will have some good advice as well.

Depends on what you mean by flush, if you mean dumping alot of water thru there to wash out excess nutrients then no, I wouldn't do that. If however you mean just giving the plants plain water when you water, that I might consider, especially if 21 days out means 21 days from harvest. If that's what you're saying what's happening with the leaves is relatively normal aging. Usually around the 5th week of flower (on 60 day flowering strains) the leaves will start to go. The usually don't just die and drop off right away but rather they do like trees do in the fall with thier leaves changing color before falling off several weeks later. This should be happening either entirely or mostly with the big fan leaves. The leaves sticking out of the buds should stay normal looking. If you do start feeding straight water then you should see the leaf discoloration become even more pronounced as the plant drains the leaves of nutrients stored there.

I'd say you got nothing major to worry about other then not reading directions until you have a problem. :)

Molasses you can give straight up to harvest, it's not really a fert although it does have some minerals the plant uses. Mainly though molasses is meant to feed the micro organisms that live in the soil and form a symbiotic relationship with the plant.

As for the type of flush where you run massive amounts of water thru a plant, that's really just for when you have a ph imbalance from overfeeding and you need to try to wash that imbalance out of the soil before it can do too much harm. The flush at the end of flowering before harvest should really just be you watering with plain water and molasses if you wish and you should begin it at least a week before harvest, many people start 2 weeks before harvest.

I'd ask for a 220, just tell them your wanting to run some heavy duty shop equipment or move the washer/dryer out there. The reason I say 220 is then you can get something like this at the link below:

http://www.bghydro.com/BGH/itemMatrix.asp?GroupCode=TICMLC800&eq=&MatrixType=1

Devices like this will allow you to run 220V or 110V items. More complex ones will also have multiple timers allowing one box to controll all sorts of things or multiple setups running on different schedules.

One of the best threads on the internet, hempkat, you, and others here, give some really good advice, keep it up bro. Have you every used Madfarmers 35%h2o2? it was recommended to me to fix a ph "burn"(relied on meter's signed note saying it was preset, didn't check for a while, noticed some problems then checked and had been showing 6.5 tap water at 8.4! Then, to make matters worse, imagine mixing stuff then discovering that for some damn reason the ph won't rise above 6.3, trying for 6.5.) By then, too late, lost 4 plants out of 7. Oh, did I mention the idiot that was thinking that 5 days for 5 gals of ffof would be dry enough? the sides were pulling away, the top was dry, but they should have gone 10 easy. Oh well, first time with LEDS, still saved a SLH, Motavation, and strawberry haze (SLH looks like a tornado hit her) have tried a flush with the 35% h2o2 at 1.5mils per gal, seems to have stopped the damage anyway, the motavation's popcorn is starting to fill out nicely, frosting like a big dog. Just wondering if there is anything else I can do to help. I am about 7 weeks with all of them, trying to get as much out of this while I start a new bunch of blue dream and some purple widow given to me by a bro from cali.

I've never heard of using h202 for correcting ph issues although I can't see where it should be a problem. Hydrogen peroxide is really more for issues of root rot and are good for treating overwatered plants. Peroxide is really just water with an extra oxygen molecule and when you give it to a plant that's been overwatered that extra oxygen molecule gets released in the root zone giving much needed oxygen to roots essentially drowning in water. So it may have helped you on those 5 gallon pots of FFOF but on the ph imbalance all you can really do is just flush the imbalance out with ph adjusted water.
