I'm sure there are LEO and politicians that are lurking in the shadows of this and other forums right now are laughing their ass's off at us because we CAN NOT get our shit together as a group.
Instead of coming together as one and telling Uncle Sam to go to hell and let us police our own states, we've let greed and anger influence our decisions. Where we could of passed a bill that could have been amended later on, and given other states the hope and precedent to pass similar bills, we basically shot our self in the foot.
I was thinking earlier before I logged back in that this is a completely different era from when I was growing up. I remember smoking joints in front of the Secret Service and the DC Police at the smoke-in in front of the White House in '76. Lafayette Park was wall to wall people, thousands upon thousands were there, the last few years have seen less than a hundred or so. It's like today's younger generation doesn't care. The spirit of the Hippies and Yippies from the '60's and '70's is gone. There is more concern about what what new cell phone to get or updating one's Facebook status then trying to make the future a better place and to regain the freedoms that Big Brother is taking from us slowly but surely.
To quote the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. " I HAD A DREAM ". And it seems for cannabis legalization that's all it is.

Yup. Agreed. The only thing is "we" are not one group. There is a group that is slinging (the "No" voters), and a group that is not.

What kind of ICMAG member would vote NO?! I cannot understand this, how can you be so greedy think about the people who needs it!

and just like Abbie said--

Amen. Imagine the demand if 19 passed. The entire country would flock to Cali. What is the worry about prices being lowered? I don't get that logic. Demand would skyrocket! And prices would too, as a result.

Feral you're spot on. The thing that kills today's generation is it's too easy to open up a web page and see for yourself what's happening. I'm younger than you, but even when I was a teenager hell right Into my twenties, if we wanted the scoop we would go check it out In person.
If this measure loses/lost, I don't think giving up hope is what to do. I think ground has been gained and momentum is picking up, and within our lifetimes whether decrim, individual states or full legalization will happen. No law will please everyone. No law. Concessions must be made and sacrifices must be beared. The only thig that really troubles me is big business getting their hands on things. Good luck Cali. Someday for the rest of us. Peace

You are the ignorant one here. This is how democracy works. We dont always get what we want but what makes you so smart to say people are ignorant?

on nevermind, i see u got a lot of post so you know all.

Im sorry.

No that is not democracy you fucktard, not when it's based on lies and misinformation to begin with and it's a plant that should not have been persecuted in the first place. Cannabis being currently illegal is IGNORANT, and so is anyone that voted this measure down with a no vote is fucking IGNORANT and surely not one of us just another greedy motherfucker who can't see the big picture. Remember KARMA is a motherfucker to all you traders that voted no I hope you like the results.

I'm starting to realize why California is soooooooooooooo bankrupt, everyone is out for themselves it seems. The only people who voted no, were those that had a vested financial (or moral in the case of conservatives) interest in Prop 19 not passing. i.e. conservatives, the medical marijuana business, lawyers and illegal dealers.

like the civil rights act
or
prop 8
or
suffrage
or
repealing prohibition

its not about "This is how democracy works."

this is about good over evil...

when good men stand by.

the no vote on this is pure evil no matter how you slice it.

if one single person goes to jail or god forbid looses their life over some situation 19 would have prevented...
the no voters are solely responsible...

10% is a big deficit to overcome, I think the propaganda from various sources worked to block this dream from coming true & congrats to my soon to be fellow police state residents if you voted no. I think this whole fucking vote is rigged anyhow there is just no way they would let it be.

If the vote is rigged why are you busting our balls for not voting? Seems a waste of time genius.

what sotf is saying is that there are many users here who make serious profit from a no vote.....they dont care about the patients they dont care about the movement....they just want to make as much coin as possible by keeping it on the black market and strain hoarding and such......And many are cali cash cropers.......So I also say shame on them..........for helping keep progress at bay for their own selfish means............And for being the exact thing that keeps it down.............the scumbag element..........

Kind of hard to support your family if your assets are taken and you're stuck in prison, right? I need no one to tell me why the NO voters voted no. The ones from this site voted NO right along with the crowd who HATE cannabis, people who support jail sentences for its use! - I could not do that. Not now, not ever, not even if I had a family of 6 kids which I irresponsibly created with my wife before even having the funds to do so.

I wonder what a flip you No voters would feel if one of your NO voting friends got landed serious time. Normally I am very neutral and see 2 sides of the issue. Hope is gone, not like plenty of California growers don't make $$$ off of exporting as well as selling local.

Its called SB420 dumb ass. Get your paperwork.

Hey my friends!

It happens that we are not chalenging the real problem. The real problem is that 55% of the Cali residents have the right to decide what the other 45% of the Cali Residents should or should not do. It's disgusting...

It this a democratic situation? Should now the DEA persecute the 45% for their opinion and will for doing what they want to do as long as they don't interfere with others rights and liberties???

I don't know about you, but in my opinion this kind of decisions can not be made with ballots. The simple fact that a ballot is used to make such decision is for itself a crime against human rights, wheter there are 49% or 1% of people in favour of it.

Keep it high, we just found a way that does not work, and it was so obvious...
