If my govt. had really wanted to turn me off to trying Marijuana back in 1969,

Instead of telling me all the lies they did, they should have just shown me pictures of how "Toe-Jam-Athlete's Foot stepping in Elephant Poop-Hash" was made!

Yeah....the best part was when they scraped the Charas off their feet and made 'Toe-Jam-Hash!'

I have to wonder who was that guy? The guy who came down from the hills one day with a pocket full of toe hash that was so good he changed the game

Newly elected California Governor Ronald Reagan (who had been elected on promises to crack down on the 'hippie movement') ordered a symbolic raid on the 'Psychedelic Shop' on Haight-Ashbury in San Francisco. Although no drugs were found on premises, the raiding police still confiscated items from the store such as the newly released book 'The Love Book' from the shelves...

As police raid the peaceful shop, a man holds a sign to warn others on the street of the police bust going on inside. Height-Ashbury, San Francisco November 17, 1966

Godey's Lady's Book, April 1864

Last Dance with Mary Jane

Victorian fashion, known for its uptight, proper style, was the height of elegance for women. But in 1864 one Victorian designer took the fashion a bit higher...

'Godey's Lady's Book' fashion magazine's, was one of the leading publications in Victorian fashion. In the April 1864 edition, they took fashion to the higher class.

The star of the 1864 magazine was an assortment of women's dress's. The focus of the dress's culminate with a white evening gown decorated with an interesting choice... Cannabis leaf's!

Accented throughout the design, cannabis leaves are placed to accent every part of the evening dress. The chest, sleeves and skirt all share in the leaf's motif.

The description given for the dress doesn't mention the designers higher intentions but leaves the leaf design to speak for itself.

There is little doubt, Mary Jane was the Bell of the Ball in 1864!

I think the Dervish is the guy with the animal pelt across his shoulders .
The Dervish is a form of Sufism . Whirling Dervish is a dance turning in circle to achieve a heightened state of mind . Cannabis is involved .

The other two guys look like straights from the city . Old mate is from up country .

Thanks for sharin

You are correct EB, had that one mislabeled. The Dervish give up all earthly possessions much like the Sadhu in India(although the sadhu are Hindu), hence the homemade look he's got going on:biggrin:

^ ^ They must have used some of that weed grown at Ole Miss to twist those. I’d say “No” to those too, lol.

Almost looks like they rolled some tobacco in a sheet of writing paper, twisted it up, snapped it in two and threw a bean in from one of their own sacks to make it look believable:biggrin:

A man wearing a hat, shorts, and fringed vest, with a pipe strung onto hit belt loop, dances among a crowd of other audience members at the Sound Storm music festival. Poynette, Wisconsin 1970

It's a Bird, Its a Plane

The rumor going around at the Sound Storm music festival held in Poynette, Wisconsin in 1970 was that Ken Kesey and crew had followed the Grateful Dead to the venue and was in the crowd. So when a helicopter hovered over the sea of concert goer's and dropped thousands of papers onto them, of course it was acid!

Well not this time...

Kesey was in fact not at the concert and there was no acid raining from the sky.

Festival staff had identified multiple undercover agents scoping the crowd and decided to help everyone out. They quickly printed thousands of fliers identifying the narcotics officers in the crowd and got a idle helicopter to distribute them equally over the crowd.

Even after reading the flier many people in the crowd didn't take a chance, and sampled the flier just in case...

"A helicopter drops papers onto the audience at the Sound Storm music festival. It was widely rumored that Ken Kesey was at the festival and that he dropped tabs of acid on the audience, but in reality the helicopter dropped fliers made by festival staff identifying narcotics officers or undercover police who had infiltrated the event."

To Possibilities!
