Thank you so much and I wish happiness to all who read my words. Complements distract me. However I have very positive news to report. Concrete steps have been taken and words being put to purpose. I have some help on the way and a prime growing location will be selected so we can get seeds in the soil early this year. I'm sincerely hoping that my plans coincide with Colombia legalizing medical. I know Colombia will eventually legalize totally when the USA does. So today the sun is beating down in Bogota but a fresh mountain breeze makes the shade indispensable and I'm looking at real estate.

I have a lot of what I call Black Colombian seed from Manizales. I've never planted any black before and I'm really curious to see what the plants look like. I'm thinking their going to flower for a long time.

Been following from the start - great thread. Cant help visualizing Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas burning bricks of weed.

Lovely buds and even more lovely women!

I purchased Colombian Black seeds last year. Finding any info on them is next to impossible. I believe your assumption of a long flower is correct. The only info I could find was a flowering time in the 15-16 week range.

when the US finally gives in, most of the rest of the world will fall like dominoes. there will be a few places (north Korea and a few other dictatorships, you know who I mean) that will denounce it as western decadence but you know what? FUCK them...:dance013:

It is so impressive to me that Colombia is making such positive changes. It is said to be a safer country now, and she is considering Medical Marijuana. I will still never go back. The idea makes my heart race like a line of coca pura. There are still a few people there that remembers things, hence the execution of Griselda Blanco. There are still a lot of crazy people there. I am just another Yankee now and you are becoming a Colombian. Good luck. I will always read what you write and would appreciate photos of things other than just buds.

I hope that you do return here
huligun. Bogota is much better than when I first came here, cleaner safer and just a better overall feel to the city. The young people have a fresh positive perspective and seem to letting go of the old culture of violence. Sure I miss the USA and always I'm 100% American but I have a deep love for this country and her Nobel people. Every day is an adventure a every day a lesson in human compassion. The people so warm and friendly with true love of life. Colombia is being reborn and the world will see the true Colombia.

I will always miss riding my motor cycle into the mountains to select perfect buds to sell to tourist in the city. My street prices were high, but my customers were very happy. I would often get tips for my trouble from Americans. Europeans were a little more stingy that way.

The bad memories are a like a horrible nightmare and bring up thoughts that make me feel unwell. I have had to see doctors for that off and on since coming to America. Because of that and what I still read about home I am still reluctant to go. I am a father and husband now and cannot afford to take risk like I used to.

Dude, I'm probably about to blow you world, but weed is actually legal in North Korea! lol. I guess It's not even considered a drug at all. They seem to be more worried about meth. There are a few articles about it online if you google it, along with some pics.

Drug Cannabis is illegal, hemp is legal to grow.
I would advise you not to take any smoke to N Korea if you go.
That said, they seem more enlightened then the USA where all Cannabis is illegal by federal law.

New day

New day

I’ve never thought about going to North or even South Korea, in fact it was one place I did not want to be stationed at in the military (went to Germany instead). And Asia in general turns me off as a travel destination because some countries have really whack drug laws.
The idea of even thinking about visiting Colombia was nothing more than a crazy fantasy 12 years ago. I remember calling my dad and telling him I was going to Colombia to meet a woman in 2001 and him hanging up the phone on me. Then he called right back telling me it was the stupidest thing I could do, telling me I would be kidnapped right off the boat. This ran in to his next statement that he had no money, couldn’t get no money and I would just be killed. With a rusty machete no doubt. He went on to say that just being an American in that country made me a target and this “woman” I was going to meet was an obvious communist fanatic looking to start an international incident. He reminded me that all the cocaine in the world came from Colombia and even one day spent in the country would turn me into a raging addict. Dad really didn’t want me to make that first trip here. In fact we stopped communicating for the next two years. In 2004 dad (77) came to Colombia with a like-minded friend of his and returned with a different view.
In all honesty I can say that during my time in this country I have been so lucky so blessed to have met the best people and had the best experiences. I know there’s some really wicked folks here, and I know some really bad stuff has/does go down here but it does everywhere. But I’ve seen the good and redeeming side of the country, great times with really cool people. To me Colombia is like the doctor has determined that the benefits out the risks. Of course that feeling could change in a heartbeat.
This is Boyacá, I’ve been there many times and write about it a lot. This department (state) feels very comfortable and safe. Great people, the best fresh food and drink, it is not tropical temp wise but has a perfect year round temps (73f). I go here every chance I get.

Villa de Leyva

Boyacá is known as "The Land of Freedom" because this region was the scene of a series of battles which led to Colombia's independence from Spain. The first one took place on 25 July 1819 in the Pantano de Vargas and the final and decisive battle known as the Battle of Boyacá was fought on 7 August 1819 at Puente de Boyacá.

The Finca

The Finca

This is a possible place to grow, it's a lot closer to Bogota. South West about an hour by car/bus.

attachment.php

I like the area but it's at a much lower altitude.

attachment.php

Much more tropical and lush, temps still very nice year round.

attachment.php

The whole farm is on the side of a mountain, nothing is really level.

Booze?

Booze?

Beautiful. Wot's in those kooky bottles?
I really don't know, the wife never gave me a valid explanation. It seems like some type of alcoholic beverage but I couldn't even repeat what she called. Very poplar with the locals from that town.

That looks more tropical and humid indeed, think I see a monstera leaf in the last pic top right (cool plant)

What is the altitude there and what sort of altitude are you looking for?
Do you generally find that higher altitude = better pot?

Ive heard many times that the lowland sativa's have a more "soporific" effect, I wonder if thats because of the air, light intensity, temps, humidity, or everything...If indica's also express this difference it would be cool to grow a very heavy Afghan type at a very low elevation for some super sleep meds lol.

I really am sensitive to altitude and I can tell the difference in high and low altitude grown weed here. I do prefer the higher altitude grown, even with Crippy. I'm guessing the finca is like 5-6,000ft.It is warmer than Bogota but not hot like at the bottom of the valley. I will expand on why I prefer the high altitude more later.

Finca 2

Finca 2

This finca which is located about an hour southwest of Bogota in the Soacha Province of Cundinamarca Department. Its economy is mainly focused on trade and agricultural marketing, with a significant production of ornamental plants and flowers for export, so it is known as the garden city of Colombia.

attachment.php

I spent some time here and even found some weed supposedly grown there on my last visit. The finca itself is owned by some of our very good Colombian friends. This finca is typical of many that line the road from El Colajio (SP) to Bogota.

attachment.php

This finca has about ten acers of land several out buildings, a 3 bedroom with garage rental house, a two bedroom cabin, huge 4 bedroom main house, duck pond and gated entry. It’s really nice but not really in the country with the main road only several hundred feet away from the main house.

attachment.php

Although not for sale, this finca due it's size location and access would cost anywhere from $175,000 to 150,000.

Current seed

Current seed

These are the seeds I’ve collected and would like to begin breeding on the farm. All are from samples I obtained myself here and tested for effects. Only the one’s I felt were best of the non crippy domestic Colombian Varity. I only have a limited amount of seed to breed with and I want to keep each line separate from each other.

Colombian Black #1
From seeded bud originating in Manizales. Effects of high potency sativa plant. Tranquilizing, calming with a strong euphoric undertow. The effect is delayed and only two or three good hits are required to achieve a medical dose. She has a ceiling and smoking too much creates a sedative undesirable effect. Somewhat thought provoking given proper stimulation. Not bright or overly happy but still optimistic within the thought train, making for a good positive overall experience. It finishes with a sleepy but refreshing effect and is better evening smoke. Tolerance is moderate, recommend no more than once a day for maximum effect.
Colombian Black #2
From and especially potent seeded bud of Cauche, obtained in Bogota. Very narcotic effect, strong with almost instant onset. Rich, heavy taste with expansion and coughing in the lungs. Crushed flowers were very sticky and had to be cut rather than broken up to burn. Super potent for Cauche and has an overall devastating long lasting duration. No hiding the fact you’re medicated with this. Has a hangover if abused (not bad) and the finish is very sleepy but no headache or body pains. Low tolerance, this stuff gets you every time.
Colombian Red
When I returned to Bogota in 2011 my dear mother in law had obtained some very potent local cannabis. I wish it came with a fancy name but it didn’t, simply “marijuana”. But it was indeed special and there was a reason she got it for me. Didn’t look very good, a big clump of reddish brown seeded tops. It had a subtle but spicy red hash (Lebanese?) musty smell that was interesting. On closer inspection the buds were very red/rusty colored and covered in fuzzy resin. The burnt taste is sharp and distinct with that unmistakable Colombian flavor. But the effect is what really took me, like a hammer from god this stuff smacks you square in the head from the first contact. It over takes you instantly, so deep sex is the first thought. This weed has the best “aphrodisiac” properties in the world (to me). The effect is instant pleasure and builds to a euphoric peak that over takes body and mind. Another one that’s effects are undeniable, red eyes, stupid look, dry mouth. Tolerance is high, not good for all day smoking. Best for special indoor events with like-minded partners of the sexual kind (you choice).
Golden Corinto
This is from a sample I obtained from my long time Colombian friend who normally only sells crippy. Nice semi pressed finger length buds that were moderately seeded. Not “fuzzy” or particularly sticky, no special scent. Actually not very potent, not overwhelming but you certainly felt her effect. The effect starts right away with an uplifting, mood brightening feeling that sort of sweeps you in to euphoric bliss. With this the more you smoke the happier you get, high and higher until laughter. Really good stuff, great while having a couple beers since it has no downer effect at all. Very little tolerance although you do end up smoking more with daily use but always able to hit that happy spot. Also quite clean as she finishes.
Golden Sativa
This came from my old Colombian connection as well and is similar in effect to the Golden Corinto. However this is noticeably stronger and slightly more exaggerated in effect. Long finger thick slightly pressed fully seeded buds. All seeds fully mature and buds covered in a golden fuzz, sticky to the touch. The effect comes on a little slower and the taste is sharper more pronounced. The same “happy” feeling starts coming on and building. A little racy as thoughts start piling up in your head. Then in a euphoric frenzy I begin to feel incredibly creative and inspired to write or build something useful. It’s a wonderful motivational sensation that continues till the effect leaves you. The effect alone is awesome enough but the best part of the effect is the finish. It just ends, no after affect at all, it’s like you were never high never that high. And low tolerance, some more though is required with repeated use but always gets you there clean.
