i love a 1yr on all my dope...that is about the longest i usually hold on to stuff....but, it is always killer...taste is more precise and clear. high is always there...appearance looks dramatically when aged for over a year
When I was in high school I used to hide my stash in my suspended tile ceiling of my bedroom... One day as I heard my parents getting home, I scrambled to put my herb in the ceiling and accidentally dropped it behind the drywall. This was a full 8th of some nice lime green buds which I hadn't at the time discovered were a powerful sativa. It had been put in a bag and stuffed into an altoid container with about 5-6 altoid mints in there.
Fast forward a little over a year. A friend who I used to get my smoke from got busted by his dad so our main little circle of friends was experiencing some hard times lol. I remembered the sack in the altoid tin and began thinking of how to get it. I had no idea whether or not the containers were made from a magnetic material but what did I have to lose by trying to fish it out with a big magnet? I tied a long piece of hemp twine to a magnet from an old tweeter, casted it down into the wall of my bedroom and heard the most glorious "clink" sound that I had ever heard in my 17 years on earth.
The first time I knew for sure that what I held was a racy sativa after the first puff. Unbelieveable buzz, made me want to organize my room. Likely a haze cross but the altoids completely dominated the flavor and smell so I'll never know for sure. It cooled the throat as you smoked it and tasted like peppermint oil. I almost want to "lose" another bag of herb in a mint container again!
I've found heat can easily destroy a good plant... shipped some in my car once. temps were easily 100 in the car, full summer in northern CA, black car, sat for a week in the sun ( car ) , windows rolled up.. high was greatly diminished, and this was fine cured 1 1/2 years.. like takes 4 of the amount to get to where your going
