,Here's what the Flying Tiger girls are looking like now.
The FT#1 is posed here with a FLT C99 that went into flower the same day. C99 on left, FT#1 on right, both 32 days in.
Lowest branch (w/ white tie, rgt) was dusted w/ FT#6 pollen.
This plant is the only plant not topped, and she's still shorter than #5 & 14. Also the frostiest plant.
Flying Tiger #12 @ 28 days
My 2nd favorite, she didn't show pistils til she was put into 12/12, and has the shortest internodes of the four. She also had a branch pollinated, you can see the white tie on it, the branch bent around horizontally.
I'm training these plants to fit around the vertical lighting, almost an espalier approach.
The Flying Tigers look quite early flowering, moderate yielding with interesting sativa structure for indoor growing. I hope the apollo adds more 'kindness' while retaining the Golden Tiger extreme potency.
The Vietnam Nha Trang Thai are very tropical and will take a while to see them in real flowering, especially when grown from seed.
Hola Dubi, always appreciate your comments on what you see in these plants.
As related in Chaco's thread, we've had some unseasonably warm weather here, just as I've added a 2nd 600w to the tent.
A couple of days it hit 90 degrees and hurt the plants a bit.
Now I have the A/C in and I hope to see them rebound.
Flying Tiger #1 has disappointed me somewhat. Her pistils really browned out in the heat. She just hasn't blown up as much as the others, and the early promise of resin hasn't proceeded along, and the others have caught up in that front.
I see a lot of Apollo in her bud structure. Here she is @ 47 days
FT #12 is doing well, a few pre-mature browned-out pistils from the heat. I see Apollo in the squiggliness of her pistils.
Despite being the tallest plants, FT #5 & 14 are doing great. They seem to lean more to the Golden Tiger side of things.
#14 has been right under my LED and seems all the healthier for it, while the #5 is just off to the side of it.
I've now switched things up and have #1 under it.
I may very well kill off the VNT seed plants and work with the cuts from 3.
In the next wk. or so, I'll have to make room for 6 seeded plants to finish up in the tent. I'll have 2 plants finishing up, but by killing these seed plants off, it'll buy me some room & time.
I can tell these will need a lot of work, and want to give them as much room to grow as I can, so it makes sense.
Today I killed off VNT #4, as she was the leggiest and least prone to flower.
Here she is before she was snuffed.
Here's #3, 6, & 7, the keepers.
I will keep them going as long as I can just to observe their traits.
I did in fact kill off VNT #3 & #6 today. My cut of #7 died, so she was spared, and is now in the 1st steps of wall training. A pic next wk. to let her fill in.
Here's a last shot of VNT x M.Thai #3 @ 35 days
They are all looking good HL. It looks like the Apollo brought the flowering time down. So maybe the FT's are down to 10 weeks? After reading your posts and a couple others I went in search of the Golden Tiger beans and found some. Can't wait to join the Golden Tiger grow club.
Thanks, Skinny! I'll be happy if they finish under 12 wks.
I think because the heat 2 wks ago browned out a lot of pistils, they look closer than they are.
I will continue to feed them thru this coming wk. before I start flushing.
I mentioned my disappointment in the FT #1 last wk. but she's coming back strong from her heat stroke.
Notice how the trichs are just starting to pack up on the leaf margins in my last shot of her?
When I saw the resin she was building early, this is how I imagined she'd be progressing. Happy she pulled out of it.
Newhousegreen, I'm still partial to #1, she has a lot of Apollo showing up. I expect her buds to be denser than the others.
#14 is my 2nd. Her stretch wasn't as bad as 1st feared, and she's really filling in, the girthiest of the plants. She looks a little frostier than the #5 & #12.
I like a lot the look of your Flying Tiger flowers
Looks dense and resinous like a skunk but the flowers exploding thanks to the extra sativa influence and vigor. Female 1 looks the more indica while the others looks quite sativa influenced in the bud shape.
It's a pitty you had to quit the Vietnam Nha Trang x Thai but i understand is not very indoor friendly.
Anyway im very glad to hear you friends sharing your fruits and knowledge
