Hey Sleepy,

How many females did you get of the Verry Berry Surprise? I skimmed thru the thread, but only saw 5 of 7 females then you ran into the "Claw". I am starting to suspect something regarding the Verry Berry Surprise.

hey...8 out of 10 sprouted...one out of those 8 died...6 of the remaining 7 are female...

the other problems i encountered are MY FAULT, not the seeds'...

the 6 plants are fine. a better grower than i will have much more success.

i only gave them about 3 weeks to veg, also.

for me, the end product is just for the stash...i'm all about quality over quantity...its always nice to have both, though!

Hiya Sleepy, dropped in to get some facts straight.

First off the VeryBerry Surprise is not from Sagarmatha, that was the contest for the Magical Mystery Freebie. I grew out pure VeryBerry, not Wonderberry or Bubbleberry

Quite a few people said that so far ;)

I don't think they're the same though. Blue wrote that her's were specially suited for outdoor, whereas the VBS are said to be indoor seeds.

It's still a mistery :chin:

Alex is correct, my pure VeryBerry seeds (from Green Hornet) are advertised for outdoor and greenhouse growing.

Green Hornet doesn't work for anybody...Green Hornet is the name of the seed company and they breed their own strains.

My own VeryBerry smells (yes, I still have some left, been curing well on to 6 months ) wonderful, like wild strawberries and lime. An excellent cure did alot for the taste and the high (which were both very anonymous) which IMO were compromised by the fact that the plant was engineered to be grown outdoors and I grew her in an environment not optimal for her. Its still mediocre, though better than before. I really can't tell from those pics whether or not it could be the same plant. The shape of the buds is about the same, looked like a bunch of pink hairy golfballs when seen from above LOL :biglaugh:

Here's a pic of the whole plant at 49 days of flower, maybe you can guess better from this pic.

By the way Sleepy, my VeryBerries were extremely nute-sensitive....didn't enjoy them much at all

I'll be dropping in to help you with your guesswork if I can

Sleepy - When you said "6 of the 7 are female" is the last one a male or still unknown? I am thinking the Verry Berry Surprise have been feminized. I have 10 females out of 10 seeds planted, 100% female....I was expecting to see a few males.

I am trying to find out more about this strain(s). So far, it is sensitive to nitrogen, seems to be feminized, and there appear to be a few different phenotypes in the mix.

I agree, it is all about the quality :joint:

I'll say it again, i suspect these very berry suprise beans are the so-called blackberry s1's from cali kush seeds. all mine are female also and these babies greatly resemble some blackberry widow i once grew out.

Plant problems will always cut yield but your gained expierence will pay off in spades in future grows. Besides, you just might get surprised by your results. :ying:

Update...we are the borg...

Update...we are the borg...

resistance is NOT futile!!

i found a tiny web on the top of the nicest very berry surprise...

after i took these pix, and the light went out, i sprayed the whole shabangabang with sevin...

i can't believe how small these fuckers are!!

and i thought my show was clean! damn...

any thoughts on how i plan on combatting the borg, please let me know...

i plan on spraying them down again tonight, after lights out, with neem, then going back to the sevin every other day and alternating back and forth...

humidity is 55%-60%...do i run the risk of mold/rot this way??

i also have serenade, should i use this in combination with the sevin & neem?

here are some pix taken last night before i found the little web:

the web was on the top of this one:

...i would have not seen the web, had i not been in the grow after the HPS light went off. My plan was to take some pix, then foliar feed with Nitrozime...after spraying, the mist caught my eye in the tinyest of webs...then i saw it. a little fucker crawling around! i just about screamed! :yoinks:

i inspected the whole garden and saw them on one other very berry plant...then the spraying commenced...

:badday: Sorry to hear you got the cooties...can't let um assimilate your grow...So far all I've had to deal with are gnats...I hope I never see a spider mite...get um quick :dueling:

Do the sticks weaken the main stem?..just whenever I have a branch supported by the wall...it is always weaker then the rest and flops around without the wall...like being in a cast the stem does't need to build strength if it is already supported...Just my :2cents:

Sleepy the best thing for spider mites is hot pepper chili spray. completely natural and completly harmless to the plants BUT not to the mites.
I use it at the first sign of mites and it works like a charm.

Get the MOST hottest strongest fresh chili peppers you can find.
put 5 into a blender, 2 cups of water and blend. ( together with the seeds)

Strain and spray this on the leaves, underside and top and even on the buds,
Be careful not to get the chili spray in your eyes or on your hands because it does burn your skin.

Repeat for a few days and you will find that it is extremely effective.
Dont make to much chili pepper solution because it does go off. Enough for a couple of days at a time.

It does not harm your plants or buds or even little seedlings.
