Excellent work mates.
Thanks a lot very much :D for sharing....
I was already interested by the Cage and stuff like that some years ago and liked the idea when debatting @ OG..
Now, with your improvements and used with dirt, I'm convinced. Really.

Thanks again again.

Thanks...

Thanks...

Hey Doc, the details are much appreciated! I have a 1/2 Coliseum that I never used. I like your design much better for reasons that I do not have time to detail. Once again, thank you!

U.G.U. and dirt doc that is epic. I think I may do some building this weekend. I was going to go fishing, but shelf buiding 101 may be in order. I think I will go for wood shelves, tilted, coverded in plastic with rain gutter drains. So if I want to automate I have the runnoff going into a catch for disposal and fresh from a res. What an insane thread.
Good job.

Shit this would be so wild with a 2 to 3 story high coco slab tower with 4-5 plants in each slab!

Could give me 8 to 12 slabs instead of 6-7 in my homebox xl!!! I bet I could snug 2 6oohps in an aircooled tower too... Hmmm!?!

hello all... i love this thread...
I was planning out my four shelves, and i was looking at the lighting, and how it would work best without getting to hot with 2x1000w per 4Shelves. i'm not going to be running cool tubes yet so i thought i might as well put my old light mover to test.

this should increase the light covrage by 1.6X, ( 8* foot roof ) bulb travels 3.5Feet up / down

love to hear some input on this.

dd. i have an idea for a manifold system that can disconnect quickly so you can move shelves. only thing isyour res would need to be large enough to hold enough water for all your plants. it would not be automated but it would save hand watering 80 plizz. all you would need to do is mix your water correctly and plug in a pump when ready. and shut off when watered enough. drain excess from res. if you want me to get detailed let me know. i love this thread! peace SIR :joint:

So I had to tear down my 3.5' x 3.5' cabinet and downsize myself into a 4' x 2' space that is 52" high. I have a 600w hps and some 4' dual flouro bars for lighting in the new space and I was kind of scratching my head until I saw this thread and Northern's stadium thread.

Can I hang a 600 W vertically in a 2' deep x 4' wide, ~4.5' tall space? I figured I would hang my bulb dead center and then have a 4 foot shop light in each of the 4 corners. The shop lights are setup for dual spectrum, one veg and one flower bulb in each, for a total of 8 bulbs (24,000 lumens in 240 watts). The 600 is a hortilux as well, I am keeping everything as dual spectrum as I can because I will have to veg and flower in this setup. I will take a pic once I have things together a little more, but my plan is to have a shelf on each end to hold one 3 gallon pot, about 11"x11" and 12-15" tall. This leaves a space a little larger than 2' x 2' in the center to fit 2-3 more 3 gallon pots. I am aiming to have 4-5 plants in this setup of this structure ;

This is the general size and shape I like to work with, albeit they will be a tad smaller in the new setup. I think that elevating the plant on each end would get more light to them in the rectangular space I have, but I am the first one to admit that I know nothing about vertical lighting :bashhead:

For cooling, I have a 6" vortex. I figured I would have my air out directly above the 600 and I'd also run a small fan on the bulb at all times to keep it cool. Do I have a chance in hell of keeping my temps tolerable without additional air conditioning? My ambient air temperature is pretty good, and I am heading into fall/winter/spring which are pretty cold around here. Normally I close all the furnace vents in my basement in the colder months to keep the basements ambient temps down (and to try and get some extra heat into the rest of this shitbox condominium!).

I still have to grab a new socket and cord set for vertical hanging, please let me know what you guys think! Thanks and keep up the great work guys!

Sorry, I didn't answer sooner. I've played with the rain gutter before. I use mainly aero. I used rain gutter and built a couple of channels to fit a shelf for a friend. I realized later on that I could do several levels and go vertical. I've just been to chicken and don't really have the space to do it. My area is kind of occupied right now.

Awe did this thread die? Sucks for me....

Almost done with my rendition of Green Bastards design, someone here was looking for his grow room... Go over to cannabis culture, he's making history.

Only design I have seen to get 6lbs from 2kwatts using less than 40 plants. Not that im knocking other peoples designs, but why have so many plants.

I am adding in a 3rd shelf and some more plants to see if I can push the 6lbs... also I have co2 installed. The pic is of some plants that were budded in a horizotal garden and then moved so they werent really made for this.
I want a few more plants with the added co2 and see what i can get.
They look good so far but the new test batch will be done in april.

what a crock. I tried posting on CC and I get this :The host from which you are accessing the board is not recognized as a valid host. This is more than likely related to a firewall issue that is blocking the referer variable. Check your firewall settings and try again.

I go through a proxy server. I'll be damned if I make a direct connection to a board whos owner is facing jail time

I really was digging GB thread there too.

sorry off topic
