you sound like me ic, i have to kill plants cause they get to big in veg so when i do chop whatever is the biggest plant in the veg tent goes into flower next, however old it is, really impressed with the buds on the bottom of your plants, that bottom light is paying for its self, thinkin of changing my vert to 2 600 watters instead of the 1 1000 watter.

Thanks and welcome by.

I know I still have a long way to go but at least I can help some of the newer growers here out like I was.

Yes I whacked a bunch of plants just before this run shown here. I think I may not have enough for all my rooms on the next run yet. I still got some time though and may start water more frequently to speed them up.

I like the second bulb it really firms up the lower growth. I would run (2) 1000 watters if heat was not an issue. Cost of running the 600 on the bottom is only about $95 for the entire 10 weeks. I am sure that I get that back in better bud. I know when I ran just a 1k bulb I got way more larf. Now I am hard pressed to find any.

Soon I will know how much this run is. 3 more weeks till chop.

You changing your grow because of me would be hilarious as I have picked up so much from you Fred Bobble ect.

I never had much luck with light movers in horizontal grows using reflectors. I did a couple of bare bulb grows with 6 to 8 plants surrounding a light. Got bored with that and hung shelves so that I had three levels of plants for a total of 8 feet high and twelve feet long.

I was surprised by how effective light movers worked in this instance, even without a delay timer. Rigged pulleys on each end of a light rail for 6 feet of vertical movement. The different angle of light really helped. If I ever try that again I'll use a cycle timer to pause the light for two hours on each position. If you have heat problems or die from larfing, could be worth a shot.

The ceiling in this room is seven feet high. The sourbubble cross reached that and flattened some on it.

Ok, I thought to start this thread I would show you how I build my light support for the bottom.
The top light is just hung by a hook like this.

Ok lets go. First you need the following parts:

8 3/4 inch pvc elbows
6 zip ties
1 four way pvc tee
1 light socket HID
4 pieces 3/4 inch diameter pvc pipe 9.5 inch long
6 pieces 3/4 inch diameter pvc pipe 14 inches long
1 1/2 inch black pipe nipple 3 inches long
1 1/2 inch floor flange

Here is a picture of the parts.

I had some one PM me on how I hang my lights. The above is from the first page post number 6 and details the bottom light support and the hook at the top.

Just follow that post and the post following it to get a idea of how the light support at the base is put together. The top light is just hung by the hook. If you need more PM me again and I will try to walk you through building it.

well i can say yes i might change it because of your two bulb run, if i can get my plants the right hight going into flower 1 light works but it seems there always to damn tall and to get a good full screen of buds with a 6ft plant you need that bottom light.. heat isent a issue for me but the electric use is so as close as the light is to my plants i think 2 600's would work well. as soon as i get my 6oo watt ballest back from a friend im going to set one pod up with 2 600's and see what the results are.:tiphat:

Yes bigger plants also have a lower number count for the non med states. Arminius is running double 600's in his set up. Might look in on his run.

Hope it works out well for you. I will be looking for your run in anticipation.:tumbleweed:

Another thing is by switching from a 1k to (2) 600's it would only cost me about $25 for a 10 week run. Don't know what you pay but I am sure that 2 bulbs will more then cover your electric cost. Then you will have better coverage for shaded buds by crossing the light patterns.

I have some that have been pulled way down when I first tied the to the screen. I will get some pictures of these when I harvest so we can see how they fared. D9 said that he had pulled some down below the media and the grew very well.

I have been doing it to fill in because the low stuff seems to always be really small bud and tedious to trim.
