Hey folks welcome to my first grow! I've spent a few months mostly lurking here and other forums trying to get up to speed on growing weed. Hopefully I picked up enough to have a fairly successful first grow.

I've enclosed a pic of my grow cab which evolved over time from its original inception. I started out wanting to build a high-pod knock off only more micro sized. Eventually I settled on what you see here. Follow this link if you’re interested in the building of it and some of the thought behind it.

I have 8 zamaldelica (thanks Ace!) beans going in the mini DWC. Just stuck them in Rapid Rooters. I'm starting them outside the cab for now as I have to rig up a little stand to put them on.

Yeah it has two intakes at the bottom. One on each side. It could probably use two more as the vents are kinda restrictive.

ok I see em now ...I like lots of airflow as you can always dial it down... if I built it I would already be thinkin of how I could cram 4 more bulbs in after a few rounds lol...look good man nice and clean and neat...good luck

Nice cab!

You're planning on trying to fit 8 plants inside the cab?

@stoned-trout (love the name!)
I may have to dial down the air and keep the room cooler. The negative pressure makes it hard to open the door! The good thing is that I can maintain with 5 degrees of ambient. Yeah and more lights are on the agenda for the future. Thanks!

@blynx
Thanks! No, actually just a single plant. I was going to build a little stand and shoe horn them in there, but I can't find a good place for the air pump so I'll grow out the 8 plants outside of the cab, weed out the males, and then select the best female to grow in the cab.

Downside to this approach is you can't grow multiple varieties or even multiple phenos. I've checked out all of your micro grows and only hope I can only achieve similar results someday! You've got the micro thing down!

If the door doesn't open easily because of suction, then your ventilation system is struggling to get enough air. Basic physics mean the cabinet will always run warmer than the room around it, so there should be no negative pressure unless you're running a refrigeration unit.

Yeah those vents are too restrictive. I'm gonna have to add two more to get better air flow. I did testing with them in and out and I can get a 5 degree differential with them out. With them in place the differential is more like 7 or 8 degrees.

6 Out of 8 so far

6 Out of 8 so far

Well six have germinated so far. Sorry for the crappy pic. My phone doesn't do a great job.

Waiting for this thing to show up and then I'll pull them out of the cab.

Another quick update with a decent pic this time! All of them have popped, but you can't see two of them yet as they haven't pushed up through the Rapid Rooter.

Thanks OakyJoe! This is my first grow. I'm not doing 12/12 although I originally planned on it. My plan is to keep these plants on a 24 hr photoperiod all of the way through veg stage. I'm gonna veg the single female I keep until she's about 3 1/2 feet tall and then flip to 12/12. I'm gonna use Chlormequat Chloride right at the flip to completely stop the stretch and help induce flowering. Have you done a grow log on zamaldelica? How was the high?
