hi Dr Dog :D

thanks for stopping by - the cheese is doing well, i have 2 in there and the pics were of the one thats a week or 2 ahead. last couple of days i really got a whiff if their funk as i opened the cab - they really do stink of cheese! sort of parmisan type smell.

got a couple of pics of the plants in the cab. it's not looking quite as tidy as usual due to the Black Forrest 16week sativa on the left. the whole right half is cheese, the closer one being the last plant put in there. the power pant is on the right and hidden by the BF

picture.php

and one from a lower angle showing the light. you can see how much the cheese plant is jacked up to get up to the height of the BF. luckily the tallest buds on the BF are right at the edge, giving a nice dished effect.

picture.php

lastly here are the Jack the Ripper seedlings (Subcool)
picture.php

in other news i've just sent to the boutique for a pack of Tom Hill's Deep Chunk which looks awesome in every way. also some Satori from mandela and Durban poison from DP.

daddy fingaz - thanks mate - i dont mind about the flowering time as it's only a quarter of my grow. tbh, i cant imagine what the plants gonna do for the next 10 weeks or so because the buds are pretty big already. she may be a bit quicker i dont know. its the first time ive grown a 'proper' sativa and i guess i'm doing it to see if i can. i also wanted a male BF to make some seeds - mainly because the vietnam black genetics havent been used that much. i'll have to see about flowering time of the hybrids i've made - perhaps it'll make them too long for practical purposes.

otherwhitemeat - cheers! - i must say i've probably been lucky so far too. lets hope it continues **touch wood**.

nice setup NOF!

doing a no runoff grow takes a lot of skill thats for sure.

did you try using a organic fungicide or even H2O2?

i do no run off for most of my plants lives, until they're deep into flowering then i give them waterings to about 20% run off, but my containers still have drainage holes.

good luck on your next !

I got kind of confused by the meaning of runoff mate!
And google translator didn´t give me a meaning!

rsrs

Can you guys explain me that?

I didn´t use any organic fungicide or H2O2 because when I realize
the problem it was too late for that.

Verdant

I liked the beds a lot.
But I will make some improvements on it.

Wondering to make the drainage holes and maybe catch the waste water drained on a PVC tube and reuse it. Dunno yet. I must think for a while about the engineering that I might need to do.

I have some hard work at the weekend if I want to start my new grow run
up to Monday.

Your plants look great bro.
Is that real that Cheese smells like real cheese?

Keep growing mate,

NOF

Hi NOF,

run off is the water that pours out the bottom of the pots/beds if you water them enough.

Thankx a lot.
Do you believe that today, google translator gave me the meaning of run off?
Yesterday I typed runoff.

Anyway, thanx mate.

I have good news.
Yesterday I tested my growroom, and it seems to be perfect.
My high temperature was 23.5 ºC.

I´m so happy.
Last grow my max temperatures was something between 35ºC with the 2x400W on.

It´s almost done.
I just need to bild the eletric painel and configure the A.C thermostat.
Clones are ready!

Hope you guys come to my grow diary.

Verdant:

Sorry to use your space to tell about my growroom.
This thread is so cool that it feels like home!

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Stay cool,

NOF.

NOF - no worries about showing your room - we can learn from each other!
i would say you will have much less risk of problems by having some way of draining any water that collects in the bottom of your beds.

Dr Dog - thanks for checking in again mate! - yeah i usually start new ones a bit quicker but apparently the JTR is a stretcher and i also got waylaid trying to (unsuccessfully) germ some very old NL bagseeds.

daddy fingaz - yes, actually i was quite happy to slow down production with the BF. check your rep for a bit more info about them ;)
Sharksbreath x BF is definitely one i plan to cross - the mmg is a SB haze cross and that came out great.:joint:

Not grown out the mmg myself but some lga brothers have and rated it highly, sounds like u got a great pheno of SB to work with there aswell.
DNA guys do get a lot of stick, some of which is probably deserved, but it cant be denied they have some great strains, their chocolope and LA confidential are favorites of mine!

Meant to ask how did your little greenhouse side project go with the congo cross by the way (another great strain) , have those finished ok, soz if i missed your update!?

anyways take it easy! :joint:

yes mate the congolese x Geurilla gold from the greenhouse finished in early september (thats when you want 'em to finish outdoors in the Uk - the canadian GG genetics are soooo early). great soaring high and very potent. possibly the most potent smoke i have atm.
unfortunately the seeds i tried to make in the greenhouse didnt work :(

Why the seeds didn´t work Verdant?
Do you know what happened?

Hope you have better luck on future breedings!

dunno NOF - im pretty new to making seeds but all the others i've tried have worked really well so i suspect the pollen itself may have been a bit dodgy?

---

ok here we have the Black Forrest at 7 weeks. its filled out nicely and tbh i cant see how it's going to go another 9 odd weeks. having said that i am pretty new to these hardcore sativas so lets wait and see. i do like a steep learning curve ;)
picture.php

nugs im quite proud of the fact that there's hardly any eagle clawing on the leaves - in fact i gave it it's first 'feed' of molasses today as it looked a little hungry (i think)

powerplant is between 7 and 8 weeks and looking nearly ready. frosty

couple attempts at macros

everything seems to be going well, its a bit cooler in the cab and i'm a little worried about the plants slowing down - i want to measure the soil temps but have lost my temp probe :wallbash: i spend most of my life looking for stuff.

Wow that BF looks awesome Verdant....I cant imagine it goin another 9 weeks either but if it does then its gona be a monster!! I have always admired your scrog system....i usually train out my plants using fuzzy sticks and achieve multiple tops. When I get around to it i might have to try and build me some screens like yours.....keep up the great work :joint:

Thats a real shame, always heard great things of the GG but never been able to get hold of it myself, throwing Congo in the mix its sure to be a killer, gotta love a bit of outdoor bud!

i spend most of my life looking for stuff.
V.

I know that feeling, its usually the bloody mrs's stuff aswell!!

that power plants also looking mighty fine ...
:yeahthats

nice macros as well mate!

Hummm...

How many days did you keep the pollen?
As I know the pollen have a few days of viability.

If those B.F are going to be for more 9 weeks I really don´t know.
All I know is that she is getting beautiful. And they seem to be far away
from ripeness...

By the way, who breed B.F?

All the best,

Irie_Lion - yeah it will be interesting to see what occurs with the BF. looks like one of those strains that will ripen from the bottom upwards. thanks for stopping by

oldbootz - thanks - pp is a strain from your part of the world apparently - do you know anything about the genetics??. also i just bought some durban poison (DP) - what do you know about that ? i hear it has an up high - is it ok for indoor or better outdoor??

daddy fingaz - yes shame about the congo x gg seeds - i have a few more in the freezer and if i ever grow outdoors again i will definitely try and make an ibl out of them over a few seasons.
ended up buying a new thermometer today!

NOF - i kept the pollen in the freezer which worked with the other types - who knows??

---

took some cuttings yesterday - Blueberry, Sharksbreath and MMG. not sure if i will run them all yet, depends on how many females i get with the JTR.

cheers

hey V, i have wondered for a while now what genetics are in the power plant. it looks very indica to me possibly some nigerian or congolese genetics in there to give the yield a boost and shape the colas.

the durban poison is a very nice smoke, but with all the full on sativa's from this side of the world they develop shitloads of tiny tiny leaves all in and around the bud area that can be a real pain to remove. but its generally a quicker sativa than most. i would definitely say that it would be better to grow these outdoor, but it would be more than fun to see one in your scrog setup hehehe. they are not known for high yeilds but if vegged to a good size it wont let you down.
