This year I decided to grow a garden its been a long time since I've had a vegetable garden. It has turned out to be pretty nice this year with all the good rain and good hot temperatures. After work I took a few pictures and there will be more pictures to come after dinner.

Heres a Charleston Grey Watermelon about the size of a basketball.

A Burpee Early Jumbo Melon

A National Pickling Cucumber

And some Yellow Brandywine Tomatoes, about the size of a 50cent piece each

After dinner I will get some more pictures.

Hi Buck...looking good! Your tomatoes are almost ready! Mine are still green.
Heres a shot of my bell peppers. This pic is poor because it was getting dark and my flash is screwy. You get the idea on size anyway.

And of course a day old pic of my pumpkin.

some of the things in my garden

some of the things in my garden

jalapeno's, this plant didn't get very big, but she's putting them on

some banana bill's - these are some strong plants, they are decent peppers too, the color really determines them on these

lilac's, they are alright, never again though, too many other strains out there

same for the fat n sassy's - not too impressed

i love these new sugar snack hybrids though, these things are the size of golf balls when finished. have yet to try one though.

brandywines - 100 dayers - suppose to be good eating and bigger maters

i love the looks of these sofar - hardrocks - a new strain - here is a "10 pack"

and a flower

not sure what your problem is here, but it seems like you have some soil all around them, why not dump them and plant them in some nice mix? :chin: at least guarantee yourself some maters... :chin:

anyone ever grown veggies in a DWC setup before?

looking to expand my garden and i was contemplating growing some veggies under my HPS's.
what kind of light cycle do they need?(does it need to change in order for them to fruit)

i've found heaps of subscription sites online for hydroponic veggies...but screw paying..somebody somewhere must be doing it and have a better idea about it then me...

Seed's Garden Update

I have been so involved with my punkins that I have neglected this thread a bit.

BP420--I wish I had an answer for you but I'm not a hydro grower.

Steve59--Get them maters in some good soil and they almost take care of themselves.

RR420---Hats off to ya. Your garden looks real nice. Superb.

Buck-eye---I'll send you some of my Carolia-cross seeds this fall since you like "stripey" melons. lol

Here is a pic of the worlds ugliest melon. It is around 15#

Been picking corn lately...have mucho more to pick.

A mater shot.

And a punkin shot.

I have also been picking alot of cucumbers and green beans. No pics tho.

Heya Seed
Nice selection you have harvesting. My veggies are pretty modest this year, but here's my take on veggie LST - Hungarian Sweet Paprikas :yummy:

Awesome thread. I also grow vegetables but am limited to a measly 2 x 2 area and a whle bunch of pots ranging in size from 1/2 gallon to 5 gallon. Does anyone here have much experience with container gardening? I would like to find a strain similar to what you have RR420, but more suitable to a container. Do you think it would be possible to grow out Sugar Snack in a container? I currently have a 7 ft. tall cherry tomato plant in a 5 gallon container. With consistent training and sucker removing, I have gotten the plant to put out good amounts of flowers, however each set of flowers is putting out about 7 tomatoes max. Which is kind of weird since this is a clone of a cherry tomato plant I had in the 2 x 2 patch of soil I have. Do you think it's the container? It's a 5 gallon bucket with 3 seperate 2 inch holes drilled on the sides with very fine screening attached to allow for draining. I realize this is nothing compared to the amount of root space it had in the patch, but could this actually cause the plant to put out less fruit? All other aspects of the plants growth are the same as the original mom I had cloned her from, except this one thing.

i have some problem. Something keeps eating the flowers on my plants. I dunno if its bugs or a rabbit. When I check my crops yesterday, most of the flowers on my zuceni plants where gone, some on my egg plants. down the the stem, nothing more, suggestions?

Thanks for that link sproutco. That's an awesome strain but what I'm looking for is more fruit per cluster. So something like that Container's Choice that's suitable for container growing, but one that puts out smaller fruits in higher numbers per cluster. Hope all that made sense. If anyone knows of any let me know. Thanks guys!

^^ Here's another tomato suited for containers with smaller fruits about 3 ounces . It is called Patio F Hybrid (really anything with the name patio might work). They also have a cherry tomato called red robin for containers. This list is in alphabetical order. http://www.tomatogrowers.com/small.htm

Thanks a lot sproutco. That's exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate you taking the time to look it up.

On another note, do you guys think ICmag would allow trades of seeds/clones? I know MJ is a no no to ask for but what about veggies?

Hi Stevr59,
Tomato plants need bees to pollenate and you dont need another plant. If it is showing flowers your doing fine. Keep your feed nice and balanced....xx-xx-xx.
