This thing works really well. I had to turn it down to about 20min cycles instead of 1min because the thing had my place smelling really strong of bubblegum. I am pretty confident that even with some stinky plants in later flower it could cover up the smell. However it only masks the smell, it won't eliminate the smell like carbon or ozone will. As promised here are some pics:

I would recommend this unit to anyone who has a grow 1kw or under and doesn't mind the idea of masking odor. Some might be suspicious of the strong fragrance. A carbon filter is probably the safest way to make sure there is absolutely no odor but at a fraction of the cost, no annoying carbon to fill, and no construction required, this thing is a great alternative or addition to a filter.

Hope this helps :smoker:

Did you have any problems adjusting the fan speed? It says its a phillips head screw in there but I'll be damned, mine was virtually flat I used all sorts or screwdrivers trying to adjust it I may have accomplished nothing at all lol.If its too strong you should use only 1 disc instead of two,you shouldnt have a strong perfumy odor if you do you need to turn it down. When you get it just right you'll know, the air smells clean but not too perfumy and definately not like erb.

okay guys.

let me ask this again since a few more people are using it.

I have a closet that i cant do any modification too. I would prefer not to drill into the door and make vents for a carbon filter. i will not be having many plants. Would you recommend this to someone living in the 5th floor of a 6 story apartment for a closet grow. Maybe i would get 2 of them. 1 for the closet and 1 for main room.

I smoke blunts in the place all the time, and no one complains, and everyone upstair smokes as well.

What do you think?

the optimum 4000 unit controls odor in my whole apt set at 2. picked it up off ebay for 40 bucks.

Just ordered one... my carbon scrubber takes care of the cabs, but I know my apartment is out of control when drying, and when we puff massive... We'll see!

give the vaportek folks an email, ask them to send you some samples of their various scents...why not choose a smell that makes ya happy?

i got a vaportronic a couple weeks ago. i also got a few of the small units you stick on the wall.

i'm pretty pleased. usually when i open the flower room, the thick smell of reefer fills the room. it's great but...

now i open up and i get a bubblegumish smell. not bad. it's kind of annoying when i'm trying to smell some buds. :)

over all, i give it a thumbs up. i have spent well over 1,000 on various odor eliminators and other then getting an inline to filter the air, this is the best.

i also have an automatic ozium dispenser at the front door. it shoots every 15 mins. works for me.

get one. NOW!

Fatboy if it smells like bubblegum try turing it down 1 number at a time until the BG smell almost goes away and its replaced with a more clean smell.(If you'rte using classic neutral)

thanks ballastman. i'll turn it down a notch or so. i have 3 disks in the unit. i'll take one out. it's a 5.5 x 5 x 11 foot room. the smell is totally masked. NICE!

i wonder what i did with the instructions? :)

Yea,I use it in the hanging room 8 by 8,in the 8 by 8 flower room I use the vaportek, the vaportronic works good for me with just a couple discs and thats with a roomful of drying erb.I'm happy with results from both units others may disagree but I see no need for a carbon filter also, and believe me my rooms reak sometimes.Zero smell in the frnt yard, zero smell in the living room, fresh smell in the growrooms.

Yep, my vaportonic was $36 and the replacement neutral cartridges were $24. I only put once disk as my room is only 3x3x5'. It works great you can shake the plants for a good skunky smell to come out and in about 2 minutes you can't smell it anymore. It's a great unit, it doesn't scrub the air but simply (and effectively) masks the odors to become "classic neutral". i don't think you need any more odor control. This Vaportronic is designed for 10,000 sq ft at max with the max of 5 disks. Or can work for your room at one disc and the lowest setting. Great flexbility! and it runs off of one D battery.

any more insight into how long the discs last? if you're only using a single disk on the lowest setting (or close to it), how long would that disk last for?

I bought one and I wish I hadnt wasted the money on it. Unless your room/space is small and basically sealed its worthless. The disks are very effective but dry out quickly in anything other than the Vaportronic (I put one in the oscillating fan's fins but its bone dry in a week). I wouldnt bother with it unless your grow space is like I described before....small and sealed.

dogs can smell people under 2 feet of water, i think it could smell your reeferbowl or growroom through a carbon scrubber, though it will take most of the smell out, i doubt a scrubber is 100% efficient

I use two. One for the grow room (primarily for when I harvest/hang dry) and one out in the smoking room, where it's a constant cloud. I still carbon scrub veg/flower regardless.

For the cost and what I use them for, they work great!

So I'm a little confused... you're not satisfied with the product, but you're not using it the way it was meant to be used? Am I misunderstanding?

I'm planning on buying two of the Vaportronic units and a pack of the meadow discs. One for out in the living room where we smoke and one for in the bedroom where my cabinet is. I've got a carbon scrubber, but there's still a bit of a plant smell, so these should take care of it.

4. What do you mean by “neutralizing odors”?

Traditional odor control has involved either masking odors with a heavy perfume or desensitizing the olfactory senses of the persons subject to a smell. Our product works by combining, or pairing, our aromatic oils compound with malodors. The result is either a substantially reduced odor or no odor at all. We have additional product literature available to address this matter.

It seems like it's more than a mask for odors, I'd say it's probably between incense and carbon scrubbers, as it does mask, but it also eliminates. I'll just have to see how mine works! :joint:

Naa I used it the way it was meant to be used but it didnt do shit in my 10x10, unsealed room. So I just started putting the disks in the fan and it worked well for odor control but the disks dried out too fast. I really think its only valuable for people with small, sealed rooms.
