does the lemon scent work as well? the neutral is working but doesnt have the most pleasent smell even though its not that bad either-

Neutral smells like a hospital or a fukin nursinghome big time .
I found the berries and forest to werk equally well .

Well, I just emailed the manufacturer, becasue there are currently alot of scents available. I would like to find out if any besided the "neutral" were good at nuetralizing odors. I will post what I find out....

ive heard people like forrest n lemon, but ive heard or read rather that neutral is the only scent that most seem to say really neutrilizes n not mask the odor. post what u find out. im curious myself.

Has anyone here thought of a diy project similar to this
http://boards.cannabis.com/grow-faqs/59316-diy-inexpensive-odour-neutraliser.html (only one I could find in a quick search)

using the #90-1600 Series Ecoz Odor Neutralizer Concentrate listed on the website instead of Ona? Could be a nice alternative that you could easily scale to your garden. All you have to do is add a little more concentrate overtime. This may seem like a bit of a hassle, but it's not much worse than adjusting the machine and adding new discs.

How many people here run these systems on their own without a scrubber? I know that the two combined would be optimal, but the increased sound from my fan with a scrubber is just as big a security risk as smell. I've used only a homemade scrubber in the past and have had no problem with smell.

Finally, I see a lot of people talking about the strange smell of the neutral. Have you tried other fragrances around the house with just the neutral in the growroom? I've always used whole house air fresheners in my vent system along with different essential oil burners in the main rooms. This also helped disguise my vaporbros :whistling:

Ok, so I never heard back yet, so I just called the company and spoke to them directly. So first of all, the optimum 4000 is the one that we would all want, it is really the only product made to run continuously. Some of the other products can handle more, but are not made for constant operation. Second, the neutral is the only cartridge made to "eliminate" odors. The others are scented and will help "mask" odors. Thirdly, you can order directly from them if you need to (eg. no distributor in your area, they take credit cards).

Well, I hope that helps anyone that is looking. I am going to try one with the neutral and hope that it doesn't smell too much like a nursing home in here!

wrong.. all cartridges will 'eliminate' odor, not mask. I own a vaportek 4000 and have used several different cartridges. The scented ones eliminate odors AND produce whatever smell you bought

Can someone who has one of these answer a couple questions for me really quick? I just bought one of these used and am not sure if it is working properly. First of all, it sounds the exact same on level 1 as it does on 10. I would have though that the fan would be louder on the 10th level. Also, i don't feel much air coming out of this thing no matter what level it is on... Did i get a defective one?

the fan runs at the same speed no matter what setting (except 'off').

it should be near silent.

no, there is no perceptible 'breeze' as such.

the only thing you should notice is the lack of ganja smell.

if you smell the 'scent' you chose, turn it down a bit. it is meant to neutralize odor, not mask it.

the unit runs at 16 Hz, so low power consumption, low noise.:tiphat:

Have to say I agree with this.
I always just bought the disk, cut a little hole in the bag, and roach clipped it to the wall, more oder control, bigger hole in bag, less needed, smaller hole.

But, with that being said, I did buy a Vaportak 4000.
I have the 3X strength cartridge for and I was reading it and it said good for 200 hours, damn, that's not even 10 days.
So if I run it full time say at 4, it(cartridge) will need to be replaced ever couple weeks?????

I am just keeping a disc out by itself now and then planning on running the 4000 for 24 hours prior to the landlord stopping by.
I also use a carbon scrubber, just want to be extra sure there's no faint smell drifting around, I get desensitized to it and can't notice sometimes what others who don't grow can, that's my fear.

i think theese disk work so well that what i do is once a disk is shot, just rewet it and take your new one and just put it in a ziplock left open or with holes punched in it, theese things work!! i had low odor girls and a fresh disc was actually all by itself to strong( u could smell the disk outside the room) so i put it in a ziplock and it was just right no vap smell outside no erb smell inside, so glad i found theese things, silent , cheap and small.

Would using 2 VaporTek Optimum 4000's in a 12x12x7 be overkill?

I was going to get 2 and use them at a lower setting. I'd think this would save me $$$ on the cartridges AND the possibility to turn it up on both just in case (I want to grow some stinky strains while keeping smell to a minimum).

I also plan on exhausting from a carbon scrubber. Since this air will be going out of a basement window, smell is a big issue. Can you smell the neutral scent if the setting is too high?
