Validated! On the Ballot in Fla in Nov 2014

the rest of both bills is identical. one is for the senate SB (senate bill) and the other is for the house (HB house bill)

i dunno why people are saying vote for one and not the other. they are both the same, and WE don't get to vote on either one. the senate committees writing the wording of the law are the only ones who vote on this. WE vote on whatever the final form is that they approve. elections are in may right? so we should have the final version by sometimes in april.

VOTE VOTE VOTE!!!

We NEVER get to vote on bills that come through the State Legislature. We will only get to vote on the amendment in Nov. That might end up as a moot point if these bills pass. I personally would prefer to see the bills pass through, I think they have a wider scope than the petition.

I don't see the amendment as a "moot point" in any eventuality. You should still get to vote in November. The more votes it gets the more heat falls on that crooked, cracker legislature.

don't care if HE votes against it. Christ is a bitch.

This is the general consensus amongst almost all of the voting public. Christ is a flip flopper and although he is the best shot at getting all this mmj stuff passed he most likely will not win another election...

I think Scott is in bed with pharmaceutical companies and has spoken publicly about how mmj is a mistake....MMJ in Florida is going to be a bitter fight to the end.

Crist is polling better than Scott ATM. Head to head with Scott, I think Crist will be governor. I also think that Crist would sign a decriminalization law as well as MMJ. He stated publicly that he is not in favor of legalization.

Crist. He will be 'pole dancing' after he cant make it as a democrat. Hasn't made it on the right, left or in the middle.

Scott a politician, and like all politicians he'll say anything to be 'right' with his party. He has straightened out the state budgets and schools are getting more operating expenses... as far as healthcare.. its a mess everywhere and he'll (scott) make a profit... somehow..

Snook, You're just looking for attention.
Crist, not Christ.. That's the Religious Guy that the South is so enamored of.

Scott means NO cooperation from the AG and anyone else in gummint.

Crist knows that being pro-MMJ will win Him elections. He's a politician yes, but not that dumb.

i don't care about this dumbass election. it's all bullshit, they all (*most of em) lie as has been proven time and time again i don't trust any of em, and i don't trust the govt in general. i only vote on issues, the rest doesn't really matter. do they ever do what you want anyway? look at this do shit congress. they will say anything they need to in order to get your vote then it's feeding time at the ole trough and fuck your campaign promises.

voting on politicians solves nothing, you only feed the cycle.

they lie, you believe, they lie some more, you get mad, they lie again, win your trust back, then lie some more. ad infinitum. when was the last time a law benefitted you?

obama care? just a guaranteed payday for insurance companies. this net neutrality thing thats gonna be coming up soon. just a guaranteed payday for cable companies. you watch and you see. they don't care about you, they care about whoever put the most money in the campaign fund.

wish more people would wake up and smell the bullshit. haven't voted since second bush term, certainly didn't vote in the obama fix. i can tell a long con when i see one.

it's all a ruse they need the black folks to get on board with the next phase of the plan so they needed a black face to sell it. i fear for what's coming. this cia shit, the nsa shit, the drones, the wars.

1984 man it's not just a book.

just look at this thing in new jersey, before that anthony wiener, that guy from one of the carolina's i think, arnol swarzenegger, all the governors of illinois for the past 20 years, the guy who was using campaign funds to pay debts and trick off on vavations and lavish dinners, dick chaney, carl rove, the pedophile guy who killed himself (he wasn't elected) , etc, etc, etc. the frequency of the revelations...(bible thoughts)... is increasing. there's a scandal everyday, the mayor of toronto... like what the fuck will it take to get people to realize it's all a fix, voting for more crooks won't change shit. remove the incentives to being in public office, watch all the crooks disappear.

vote on issues, thats the ONLY power they will let you have, FUCKING USE IT. till the day we grow enough spine to lead ourselves.

After that mmj bs in NJ passed I bad mouthed MPP and wrote an email to them complaining about a no grow law. They wrote back saying they will support any no grow legislation and just getting passed mmj legislation on the books at all is their goal. I thought that just a huge cop out.

But this is FL! In the deep south. We're talking a whole different ball game here. Therefore, even if no grow, I will vote for it.

IMHO those bills talked about here have scant chance of making it all the way and until forced by popular vote that big Pharma and money controlled legislature won't do shit but put up roadblocks and delays, until they absolutely have to.

But that said, I also will never have my name put on some government list that could be used just as a LEO hit-list to only make sure every I is dotted and every T crossed to LET me have a plant. Even though I would qualify, I don't plan on getting a card and only if a dr rec is enough would I ever buy from a caregiver or dispensary. And I will still grow my own, no matter what happens.

Still I support this. I will be getting an absentee ballot because, and only because, I have a hard time walking. And THIS is the only thing on it I will vote for. I do think it will get more support if when the big push starts in Aug. or Sept. we emphasize nobody don't need to vote for anything else on the ballot if they don't want, but they do need to vote for this. I also think setting up registration booths on college campuses but emphasizing that notion of voting for nothing else unless strongly convicted would greatly help push this over the top.

But then again, I could be wrong, that did happen once.

Hey guys. I don't have enough posts to create a new thread, so I'm going to post this here and maybe someone else can create one for it.

ACTION: Florida Legislature Watering Down Medical Marijuana Initiative.
Tell me I'm not reading this right. I am happy to be wrong. But I don't think I am. And if I'm not, we need your help!

While Floridians have gotten medical marijuana on the November ballot, the current legislature appears to be trying to do an end run around it's usefulness. Bills have been introduced in both the Florida Senate and the House, which essentially limit "medical grade marijuana" to a substance that contains no more than 0.5 percent or less of any THC and at least 15 percent cannabidiol.

A substance. A. The letter A is really important here. In the world of marijuana, there's a grade called Charlotte's Web. Charlotte's Web is to typical marijuana--whether it's the truly medicinal type you get from a clinic or a doctor or the kind that comes from Joe Blow from Kokomo and his basement grow-room--as 3.2 beer is to Coors Light. That's about the only grade of "marijuana" you can get to smoke which meets this criteria:

0.5 percent or less of any THC and at least 15 percent cannabidiol (CBD).
Obviously, you can get this dose in a pill form. But it's practically worthless overall, if that dose in that form isn't going to help medicate what ails you. Let me let a professional explain it better:
Patients across the state are thrilled Legislators are beginning to realize the awesomeness of medical use of cannabis. What they fail to realize is just as the children with seizures get miraculous benefits from a high CBD/low THC strain of cannabis, that is one strain and one ailment. The rest of the patients gain just as miraculous benefits for their ailments with other strains. The rest of the patients need the rest of the medicine.
The current legislature has taken this restriction up in the form of two bills, FL SB 1030, and FL HB 843. You and me and anyone else who wants to see medical marijuana statutes be worth the paper they're printed on in the state of Florida need to get on the phone ASAP and call your Florida Senator and Representative--and email them while you're at it--and tell them to defeat this nonsense and support SB 962 – Medical Use of Cannabis. That is the responsible piece of legislation and is meant to legalize all the medicine for all the patients, as the writer says.
We NEED your voice, it is critical that this sneaky subterfuge not be allowed to stand.

Contact your Senator here.

Let me note now, so no one gets confused--the quoted paragraph from the "professional", and the link, came from a news site over in the next county from me. The gist of the actual story is about our pols "ethical dilemma" (and how they're seeking spiritual guidance) on legalizing A Drug. The paragraph above is part of a comment in response to that article. And the comment itself is amazingly full of excellent medical information, along with the information which alerted me to this situation. The author posted at 11:01 pm on 2/25, I urge you to read her post! (I can't link it separately).

What irritates me so completely is that this "news story" makes no mention of this anywhere. And I haven't seen this anywhere else, but I looked up the legislation and there it was--it appears exactly as the comment describes it.

I searched and didn't find this posted already by anyone else (wondering how I could possibly know this while SemDem doesn't??!). Please, please, if I'm wrong, tell me and I'll take this diary down--in the morning. I'll be back later, but I had to get this posted. I'm going to go facepalm into my pillow now...

What I have read is that the 1:1 ratio is most medically beneficial. What confuses me most is how since this is a Sched I drug can ANYONE say ANYTHING about whatever levels of anything in mmj are best, doctors and labs can't get any to study. Yet does this move by the Florida legislature that are mostly just a mouth for big Pharma and their desires surprise anyone? It shouldn't. And also please be aware this is probably only the first attempt toward them trying to water it down, much more fun and games coming. We have about another 8 mos. of this foolishness before the vote.

generalgreenus,

it is interesting that the elder geatz, some yrs ago, had a friend who requested cannabis while on his death bed so he broke the law to go find his friend some out of compassion.

cbd doesn't work so well on my spasms so it does nothing for me and I will continue to grow if that specialized bill gets approved due to it being a Republican introduced bill.
