Using Fresh Plant Material?????

It is pretty much agreed that some terpenoids found in the trichome head are water soluble and can be 'washed' away in the ice water method, isn't it ?
The trichome just looks smaller, not pitted or broken, again this is just supposition.

Another question yet:

When the gland head is separated from the rest of the trichome structure,
is not an opening what occurs on the seemingly uniform detached head?

This wound might be the place where the head contents is exposed from, allowing the water-soluble components to be washed away.

It might be possible that one of the distinctive traits to be found on the most suitable strains for water extraction is a minimal attachment area between the gland head and the stalk, or a thicker cerous layer.

Also, this could explain the recent observations on fast removal of the resin from the water: as longer in the water, the greater the bleed (dissolution of water-soluble compounds and drainage of lipid-soluble compounds) from the wound.

And, last but not least, this would probe again the importance of harvesting the plants at the peak time, for this is when the joint between the stalk and the head is minimum.

in my experience it never really comes out gooey and doesnt bubble when u use dry stuff
I always make mine of dry trim or buds and for some odd reason it is much better than fresh material...I dont make water or icehash, I just dont like the taste or better, the lack of it, but thats just me.
