Yah, i think they made a ton of money. Cops got to confiscate alot.
Filling jails and prisons...place a prison in a low population area...gives the locals more vote power, cuz inmates couldn't vote, but were counted as population. not to mention buying prison related stocks was lucrative, when counts were kept high. Wonder if judges and prosecutors could invest in prison stocks without it having bad 'appearances', or be an outright conflict of interests.

I'm all for democracy, but it sure isn't perfect. At least with checks and balances, there's HOPE for righting the wrongs.

Just on a side note, i had to laugh when i read the description of the word 'marxism'. People seem to use the word improperly, these days. It was described as 'finding the flawed areas of democracy and trying to right the wrongs'. Which seems like a good thing to me, but the word has become a negative.

Huge money generator for LE. It's really sad to see the vids in airports of the literal shakedowns that local LE do. I think the most recent one I saw was in Texas. The LE officers know on a basic human level that what they're doing (ie searching people's bags under questionable pretenses and confiscating cash from people for no legitimate reason). They know it's wrong because the officers scatter like roaches when they're called out on it or questioned on camera. The shakedowns are straight up 3rd World but happen right here in the U.S. all under the guise of "drug enforcement".

Maybe i'm just leary...but the NIDA's name suggests to me that if there are too many positive findings, they might stop the funding/research. Or, when they get the results, will gag the researchers, and only report the negatives. That has been the history of such 'research' projects.

Exactly the agencies are setup to be BIASED regulators with a unflexible position. Lawyers and insurance have taken over medical choice.

"is it a medicine or recreational?" i'd have to vote "yes" myself. absolutely no reason it cannot be both under the right circumstances. for years now, i've smoked one-hit bowls late at night so i can ignore my arthritis in my shoulders and go back to sleep. i'll also twist up and scorch a hogleg while wading a river fly fishing, or sitting around a campfire, get f'ed up! :smoke: there is no reason that your medicine has to be too expensive, or have bad side effects. that's just the only options they want you to pick from.

Wtf is happening here? Can someone give me a summary as my eyes are fcked this morning and my back is too stiff to get closer to the screen to read it all.

Am i right to understand it used to be illegal for fun and medical relief, now it is legal for both but big Pharma want it to be illegal for medical again so only they can sell you it?

Shit i knew this decriminalisation/legalisation caper was a bad idea.

Really takes the dark night, soul searching, cloak and dagger, naked tiptoing pony trotting neeeeighing out of the equation.

Jeez where's my buzz

Marijuana Tax Act of 1937 was enacted right after the 21st Amendment to the US Constitution to repeal alcohol prohibition.
idiots went straight from one damn mistake to another without passing go or collecting their $200,,, is it "they don't learn, won't learn, or do not WANT to learn?" is saying "NO!" really fun, or what ? i know small children enjoy repeating it... it really pisses adults off.
