Coco first timer here, deep water culture is more my thing but had to give Coco a try. Here is some reservaprivada kandy kush week 3 of bloom running canna Coco and some cyco additives along the way.

What kind of light are you working with in there Dave_Guy?

After looking at their website one thing really jumped out at me...

They are claiming they grow, harvest, shuck, and age the coco in their own facilities. I cannot be certain of this but it's pretty convincing from their site. The company was established in 1996 as an OEM for coco manufacturing (which suggests everyone is getting their coco through these guys and just branding it).

Coco is coco - for the most part. They aren't steaming the coco, which is a good thing to keep the trichoderma but also can contribute to other coco borne illnesses (gnats come to mind) as the steam kills the dormant eggs. They also do some form of washing but it does appear to be the minimalist treatment for coco and an individual grower might want to apply a second wash to the coco before planting.

I'm the biggest! NO I"m the BIGGEST!!! I didn't believe them because they are in Sri Lanka which is a small fry producer country compared to the Big 3 in the world.
These guys might be the biggest producers: at least they say so:biggrin:

need a litle advice on my medium and watering schedule. I used coco as medium but mixed it with rockwool flakes 50:50 in 11l pots. now, I plan to use flood&drain every 3 days with nutes but will make regular hand flushes with half nutes+drip clean+zyme. you think that will clear the salt and build-up problems? can I flood everytime but use dripclean and zyme every feeding? should I go full hand watering or is flooding also OK with coco?(considering the regular day 15, 25and 35 flushes and last week)
thank you fellow growers, need answers a.s.a.p.

I havent done pure coco yet, but for flower i run a mixed soil.. About 40% roots organics(coco), %15 ocean forest (peat) %15 happy frog (peat) 15% black gold organic (peat), a few bricks of compressed coco & mixed in with 15 pounds of earthworm castings. In veg i use 40% promix bx (peat) & added a brick of compressed coco & then added about about 30% vermiculite.. I do use a couple dry amendments like azomite, dolomite, mycorrizae, green sand & sum other ingredients. In mho, i think coco is unique and definitely important, pretty soon i will try pure coco to see difference in results

F1 Seed run -Flo (Colorado Cut) x Grape Stomper F2

F1 Seed run -Flo (Colorado Cut) x Grape Stomper F2

I started with a Flo cut I received here in Phoenix, I wasn't expecting much tbh but it turned out to be a keeper. So I kept her running for two more harvests before I dusted her with Grape Stomper F2 pollen. The F1 seeds that I squeezed in this run turned out to be pretty unique, I'm excited to see what else comes from this.

Hollywood? OG

Hollywood? OG

I was told this was Hollywood OG, I've heard of the 91 Hollywood but these seeds were something different I believe and definitely special. Help with identification? This grow was from 2013-early 2014 but I still have a few seeds left.

Out of the 10 seeds I popped, i found two distinctly different pheno's that I'll post below, Pheno #1 is the most desirable and seems like a pure OG of some kind. Let me know what you guys think!

Learning curve

Learning curve

After many weeks of mess ups stunting hard knocks, I have managed to keep these girls happy, since adding cal mag plus 3ml gallon to my tap water I have had very few issues, and yes apparently coco loves drip irrigation,

Been working my way through this thread but couldn't find the information I was looking for. Ive been growing in promix w/ organic amendments, outdoors, for years. This season id like to do something different, and mix my promix 50/50 with coco coir. This will save my back hauling medium to my locations and allow me to start more plants.
Can anyone recommend a cheap online source for quality coco. Also will I need to add additional lime or any other amendment? Ive read calmag is used up by the coco, so perhaps something to supplement calmag? What problems might I run into mixing promix n coco? I grow primarily in swamps n wetlands so everything about coco is appealing to me not to mention the light weight.. thanks in advance this outdoor season will make or break me and im trying to over prepare if thats possible
