UN: Washington, Colorado pot laws violate drug treaties

This is basically the handlers of the US government telling the US states that they are treading dangerous ground by revolting against the global fascist status quo.

... This is another way of the federal government telling the states they are getting out of line.

The US is important is because it's due to us pushing prohibition in the 1920's that led to international MJ prohibition.

Exactly. The UN is our little sock puppet, nothing more.

The federal government doesn't have the state law enforcement officers to enforce marijuana laws any more. The state law enforcement officers do not have federal jurisdiction and the federal officers are not set up to bust anyone that is within state compliance. And if anyone is paying any attention, the federal government is having historical financial problems. As time goes by momentum is building for the pro marijuana lobbyist. I expect more states to adopt similar laws very soon and the more that do the harder it is for the fed to crack down. That is what is worrying anti marijuana lobbyist. They know that the momentum is building, the country is in financial crisis, Obama is a liberal lame duck, and he has bigger fish to fry. It is like the perfect storm for pro marijuana.

Agree with all of the above.

However, I anticipate them busting out the hardball -- like denying federal assistance or other financial arm twisting to states that don't do as they're told.

Expect to see some interesting parties suddenly showing up on radar as the tension mounts as described above. I think the average citizen has no idea how severely pharma and alcohol lobby against marijuana, or how insidious the flow of money is. I bet people will be surprised when they see who shows up for the fight.

Really it has nothing to do with marijuana, that's all just a ruse to keep the money moving around. Watch American Drug War when you have two hours to spare. Highly recommended even for people who are already informed.

The U.N. are a bunch of tools and hypocrites.... Remind them about India.

India is the only 'nation' exempt from the prohibition of cannabis, while still being part of the U.N.

Cannabis is so tightly ingrained with their society and religion that there was no way it was going to be separated from the people.

We need to be like that.
