the other point is that on a pure statistical basis, a human being has more chance to be stung to death by a bee then to be killed by terror. so saying that terror justifies spying on everyone all the time is bs in my opinion.

Agreed, I'd also like to point out that the worlds governments, militaries, and police kill way more fucking people everyday than bees do in a decade.

We are all slaves and need to organize our revolt.

Folks wake up this is not some new breaking news. I work in the Telecommunications industry for 15+ years now and the government has always had access to the systems. I have worked for some of the largest Telecomm companies in the US and they have had access since communications was started...Oh and I think are government are nothing like nazi's that is a pretty poor comparison go live in Syria if you are not happy here in the good Ol USA...

Wow I never thought I would see the day when the USA's only real comparison is Syria LOL that's funny. I have done lots of traveling in my day and if there is one thing that is always clear is that ppl in Canada ,USA and England are watched 24/7 by the powers that be. Not the terrorist only the ppl. The Gov seems to think that it's job is to watch me and tell me how to live.. I never knew this was why I went to the polls to elect them? I will not do this again with these assholes. It's obvious that we are really heading for this New World Order BULLSHIT .. Personally I would love to not live in any of these places it's never going to get better only worse. headband 707:tiphat:

today Obama claimed "They're not looking at individuals & they're not looking at content."

then what in the fuck could they be looking at???

It seems to me that the strategy is to capture and save everything imaginable. Then when anyone shows up on radar for any reason, pull all of their data out of the enormous cloud.

The good news is, we've had over 300 people arrested in civil disobedience in NC in the last 5 weeks. That applies to this thread in that NC is a perfect example of a government that believes it already has us all back on the plantation. They've been so arrogant, so dismissive, so utterly abusive of their power.

They also believe (like the White House) that they've got the whole thing on lock; they've been working out their system and blocking all our exits for long enough that they now feel like they can just let their hair down. How's that working out for NC? 1,600 people showed up last Monday, 151 arrested. Let's see how many turn out tomorrow.

Memo to President Obama: Can you hear me now? Good.

Also, let me say FUCK VERIZON in every possible way. When I had a stalker I couldn't get Verizon to release my own data to me, in terms of the source of threatening phone calls and texts. I had to get a judge to sign a search warrant. Hard for me to imagine how I'm violating my stalker's rights by looking into the source of calls coming into my line.

You know it's funny. People have and will continue to make fun of the so called conspiracy theories about 9/11 being an inside job. Who really know? But the 1 thing that did come about from it that they NEVER could have done without it was start such a massive domestic spy program. Prior to 9/11 it's doubtful a program like this, along with an entire new Dept Of Homeland Security could have ever come about. It needed a trigger. And if the first President GHW Bush and a group of investors hadn't bought the World Trade Center just 6 months prior to 9/11 and insured it for "acts of terrorism" I don't know if they would have been able to pull all this shit off.
GHW Bush as former head of the CIA and a former President has strong enough ties/connections, etc, that he can do anything he wants and keep his fingerprints and the governments off of it. It has been verified that as head of the CIA that he used military transport planes to move heroin and coke into the US using the profits to fun other covert activities. If there's a god this motherfucker is going to have a lot to answer for. And it never hurts to have your son in charge of the county when you "pull the trigger" on full scale government expansion, the likes of which we've never seen, that is ALMOST fully backed by the peasants in order to keep them "safe".

I don't want to be safe. I want to be free. Bring on the revolution and the murder. I'd rather be dead than a slave.

Just for arguments sake, let's look into the logistics of picking up anyone that posts about growing cannabis. Data winnowing on a couple of keywords, "illegal" data mining for IP and physical address, unacknowledged dispersion of the information to local law enforcement and done. Federal government has scary abilities and a proven lack of scruples.

Don't know who dissed Gramps post above, but it might give people the idea that they shouldn't watch the video. Everybody needs to watch this video. I came here to post a link to this video but Gramps beat me to it.

The source worked at a series of jobs at the NSA from computer technician to systems administrator.

from The Guardian

The 29-year-old source behind the biggest intelligence leak in the NSA’s history explains his motives, his uncertain future and why he never intended on hiding in the shadows

The individual responsible for one of the most significant leaks in US political history is Edward Snowden, a 29-year-old former technical assistant for the CIA and current employee of the defence contractor Booz Allen Hamilton. Snowden has been working at the National Security Agency for the last four years as an employee of various outside contractors, including Booz Allen and Dell.

The Guardian, after several days of interviews, is revealing his identity at his request. From the moment he decided to disclose numerous top-secret documents to the public, he was determined not to opt for the protection of anonymity. “I have no intention of hiding who I am because I know I have done nothing wrong,” he said.

Snowden will go down in history as one of America’s most consequential whistleblowers, alongside Daniel Ellsberg and Bradley Manning. He is responsible for handing over material from one of the world’s most secretive organisations - the NSA.

In a note accompanying the first set of documents he provided, he wrote: “I understand that I will be made to suffer for my actions,” but “I will be satisfied if the federation of secret law, unequal pardon and irresistible executive powers that rule the world that I love are revealed even for an instant.”

Despite his determination to be publicly unveiled, he repeatedly insisted that he wants to avoid the media spotlight. “I don’t want public attention because I don’t want the story to be about me. I want it to be about what the US government is doing.”

He does not fear the consequences of going public, he said, only that doing so will distract attention from the issues raised by his disclosures. “I know the media likes to personalise political debates, and I know the government will demonise me.”

Despite these fears, he remained hopeful his outing will not divert attention from the substance of his disclosures. “I really want the focus to be on these documents and the debate which I hope this will trigger among citizens around the globe about what kind of world we want to live in.” He added: “My sole motive is to inform the public as to that which is done in their name and that which is done against them.”

He has had “a very comfortable life” that included a salary of roughly $200,000, a girlfriend with whom he shared a home in Hawaii, a stable career, and a family he loves. “I’m willing to sacrifice all of that because I can’t in good conscience allow the US government to destroy privacy, internet freedom and basic liberties for people around the world with this massive surveillance machine they’re secretly building.”
‘I am not afraid, because this is the choice I’ve made’

Three weeks ago, Snowden made final preparations that resulted in last week’s series of blockbuster news stories. At the NSA office in Hawaii where he was working, he copied the last set of documents he intended to disclose.

He then advised his NSA supervisor that he needed to be away from work for “a couple of weeks” in order to receive treatment for epilepsy, a condition he learned he suffers from after a series of seizures last year.

As he packed his bags, he told his girlfriend that he had to be away for a few weeks, though he said he was vague about the reason. “That is not an uncommon occurrence for someone who has spent the last decade working in the intelligence world.”

On May 20, he boarded a flight to Hong Kong, where he has remained ever since. He chose the city because “they have a spirited commitment to free speech and the right of political dissent”, and because he believed that it was one of the few places in the world that both could and would resist the dictates of the US government. ...

It doesn't bother me that much if I've offended somebody on the internet, but sometimes it's nice to have a clue as to why. But that's the internet. :tiphat:

us government drone user accounts neg repping everyone lol

the thing, imo, hidden in amongst all the crap coming at us is (just like the persians then romans/catholic church and then "nazis" all practiced) Eugenics..

mass selection against an identifiable group or gene that has been deemed to express less desired traits,, we had "survival of the fittest" according to the guy who wrote the origin of species and when the world was turned completely sick the sickest became the fittest..

big time gangsters, psychopaths no less.. i'd say they are nearly half way to where they want to be with this nwo bullshit, which is retarded because this whole thing has been so stupid and blatent who was pulling the strings.. makes me ashamed to be human,, and we can be such amazingly inspiring creatures just hardly in our era it seems, or they die like JFK or john lennon.. really sad.. gene selection against empathy..

i suggest everyone who thinks OP's post is something new, I suggest you research the Patriot Act.

Your government shoved it down your throat while everyone in the US was panicked about 9-11.

Instead of public outcry over the bill of rights being used as toilet paper, the pussies in this country felt comforted that their government was keeping them "safe".

We could have just sealed the cockpit doors and avoided TSA, homeland security and everything else.

Instead, the government can LEGALLY enter your house when you're not there, search around, leave and don't have to tell you they were even there. That's the Patriot Act for you............but yeah, phone records. Yay. Maybe in another 10 years the US general public aka the walking dead will learn the real insanity of The Patriot Act when they learn about what I have just outlined.

Land of the free my ass. We have an out of control, tyrannical government.
