im not sure what cheese they are using but as many times as ive been amsterdam i have never once smoked cheese/skunk that is anything near what we have in the uk ...
+1
im Dutch , grew up when weed was still good , and yes this is true
i went to London once , and i told my hostel i was a traveller and wanted to let some mail arrive there . They agreed , so i ordered a fat sack of Ukcheese from the darkweb a week before my arrival to the hostel adress .
The package was there when i checked in . Slept in a room with like 8 people or so ,
and some french guy immediatly smelled it . it REEEEEEEKED , and it's high was obliterating

bout 2 years ago i ordered 2 phenios UGORG Blues clones from UK , grew her for a year or so and the local coffeeshop raved about it . Kept em alive for a few grows but had to let her go at some point .Still regret it.The guy i bought it from also had pests so shes not available anymore :(

I did knock her up with Sky Cuddler Double Kush pollen , hope i can find some cheese in there someday

Im not sure wats been given out were....but the guys who planted the seed and gave it exodus they themselves got it ti homegrown fantasy in 2002-2004 times...homegrown fantasy won a cup with an lost it a couple years later.....franco got given the original cut by brightside himself...it took him time to reverse but he did manage it....that is the original cut....you cant get more legit than the crew who brought the seeds, planted them and kept the cut....all this sequence of events was verified.
I dont think ghs have that clone no more....dont seem to be good at keeping cuts

Cheese (also called UK Cheese or Exodus Cheese) is a famous clone-only strain that originated in England around 1989, reportedly from a pack of Sensi Seeds’ Skunk #1. An extremely potent and high-yielding plant with a pungent cheese-like odor, it was passed around the underground to various growers and breeders over the years until it became one of the most popular and ubiquitous strains in the UK. Sometime around 2004, the breeder known as “Big Buddha” took this clone and crossed it with a carefully selected Afghani indica to create a seed version of Cheese. Big Buddha Cheese won the High Times 2006 Cannabis Cup in the indica category and went on to become probably the most popular and widely available Cheese hybrid produced in seed form. It is known for its sweet, tropical fruit meets skunky-cheese smell and large yields of high potency flowers.

exodus cheese is sativa 70% indica 30% ... its a skunk ..... why people say she is indica blows me away or perhaps they all bought seeds from a crossed out version and they all think they have something they dont.....

the guy i got my exodus clone from has had her since the early 90s.... big buddha didnt start producing aeeds until 2000s .... after 2000s cheese went down hill as all the fake shit started coming out ....

nobody ever forgets their encounter with the original cheese.... alot of people say she is sweet but she isnt sweet she is more chemical / floral / lavender / dirty earthy / skunky / repugnent...

ugorg used blues / livers in their breeding projects .... there is also another blues called sheff blues which is 10x better .... thats the 1 i hold...

The exodus crew never had her in the early 90s though bud, they had it passed as cheese later into the 90s.

It wasn't given to the exodus crew until after the mid 90s atleast.
97-98... defo not much earlier than that.

the story i got when gifted this cut was the seeds were popped by the exodus crew and this cut was kept and shared out...

this is like late 80s early 90s... my guy has had this copy since the 90s.. i didnt even know the story until this guy told me ...

where does the indica come from as alot of people say cheese is indica .... she is sativa 70/30 always has been always will be..

exodus is very easy to pick out of all the cheeses cause she has a unique terp that lasts till the end ....

They weren't popped by the exodus crew, they were gifted to them by cheese farmer in the latter half of the 90s who got the clones from someone else.

bro it makes no difference where the seeds were popped cause we all know they were sk#1 seeds which have now been bred away from that time period ... sam the skunkman went in 1 direction with them and shanti baba went in the other hence why those skunk clones are sooo highly talked about is cause there from a different era stuff you just dont get these days..

but yh exodus is easy to pick out cause she is different from all the others...

According to Sam, Skunk # 1 was available from himself from 1976 onwards and he has said that he started to breed more to the sweet side pretty much soon after because of early indoor/ greenhouse ( maybe outdoor too?? ) grower’s getting busted because of the smell and lack of odour control technology lacking from that time period, plus he has mentioned numerous times that he preferred the sweeter one’s himself.
So Skunk # 1 was already sweet by the time he arrived in Amsterdam in 1984.
I believe there was further breeding done there to stabilise and produce even more homogeneous seeds and I think this was done in the early 90’s??

I’m not super keen on the 1989 date attached to the cheese in reference to when they were first popped. Personally I reckon that date was added to give more credibility to some mistakenly thinking that Skunk # 1 was more RKS from that time period or at least more foul/stronger smelling. They are probably from the early to mid 90”s imho but I could be wrong.
I’ve come to this conclusion because I purchased Sensi Seeds Skunk # 1 in 95 and grew out a crop of cuttings the following year and the grow and resulting bud absolutely reeked. I could have sold it as Cheese it smelled so similar but of course no one knew of the term back then and no one did till much later the following decade.

It was just as dank, sweaty, cheesy as any of the clones available today and being called Cheese and maybe some of those are from the same time period? Or not?….who cares?
What I’m trying to say I think is that the Cheese smell/terpene profile / Stink!! Is not as individual and one off as some may think. It’s Skunk # 1, it’s stinky weed.
When Cheese first arrived in the dam, someone asked Sam what he thought it was and apparently without hesitation he replied “Skunk # 1 “
He knew straightaway the smell of his own variety.
Apparently he’s grown a few of ‘em 😁

I really hope one of these newer found cuts going around now turns out to be the OG cut, I’d like to run it side by side with my own and see what I’d prefer and keep. I wanna see for myself if the BS cut really is another level above the others and I’m wrong about it being not so individual to the ones I’ve grown/kept and my theory is actually off, we’ll see I hope.

Apparently it was Brightside himself that first took Cheese to Amsterdam and although on the fringes he wasn’t actually part of the exodus crew, at least that’s what I’ve heard/ read. Not that it really matters but I know it does to some when referring to provenance and that’s cool, I understand that.
When trying to identify and authenticate the Cheese cut, don’t bother with visual traits such as double serration, red stripes, zig zag branching and so forth. The ONLY way to tell is in the finished product and then sharing a bit with one of the original holders of the cut on the forums and getting feedback from them.
I made the same mistakes and thought the cut I have was the one. Turns out it wasn’t but its still kick ass weed, stinky as hell and dangerous to grow but not the BS, OG Exudes cut……if the BS is indeed the original??? Not everyone agrees, lol

If you think you have it and got finished bud, get it out there to peeps like ER, OJD, Hazy and other’s and get it confirmed once and for all.

And for those who are holding these new found cuts, hurry up and flower them, yer taking the piss, it’s been months 😁 he he

Hey window mate,i passed the cut i found to Er and Ojd for verification before i left the county so time will tell,i'm gutted that i didnt have time to flower her out properly and document it but the move was on cards for a while and i had to chop and run.Now i'm set up at my new spot i'll be getting the cut over here to veg and rejuvenate outdoor in the sun for the season and then bring her back inside, may as well take advantage of the favourable climate i got here, thats my plan...hopefully they can just put this whole thing to bed once they harvest because as you say, finished product is the only way to tell man and this saga has gone on waaaaaayyyyy to long haha

cheers bimble

send me a sample of your exodus flowers and ill send you some of mine and we can see the difference for our selves... ive currently got an exodus in flower.... let me know ... and trust being in the midlands in the uk ive smoked a whole variety of cheese so would be intresting to see where yours fits in.. ✌️🙏🏼👍
i'm not in uk at the moment mate sorry or i would take you up on that, cuts still being held by my friend that has had her all this time and can be shared at some point no doubt,i'm just busy working away on a project right now,we'll see what they say about verifcation on her and go from there i guess but all signs are leaning toward her being the cut some call brightside on here although its obviously come thru a different chain of custody along the way, albeit from growers very local to the luton bedford area

The guy that popped the seeds said the seeds were brought back from amsterdam late 80s, early 90s, people just added the 89' monika like it was gospel, you know what's its like, it's like a game of chinese whisper!

With those rough years being said from the horses mouth "late 80s, early 90s", I'd go more with the early 90s because people always like to add years on don't they!
So lets say the seeds were popped in 1990, the plant was held close for years and wasn't passed to the exodus lads for another 7 or 8 years after that.

As for being passed a cut called exodus cheese in the early 90's...i agree with @HazyDaze420 ..take that with a pinch
Things were only just taking off in early 90s ,very quickly though .personally I ha
Buddha and crew didn't have the exo/Brightside cut

I'm just about to start cloning Bimbles,,,I've had it stressed out for a while now,,,I over fertilised to check its reaction,,,

So far 3 things have made me cautious to say its brightsides,,,everything looks right but its not reaching 100% accurately just yet

This one leaf thing is not something brightsides does as much as this cut,,,

The stem rub is not as "stingy",,,but I need to under fertilise to known for sure

It's a lily too bushy ATM,,,,,

I'm about to clone it and really under fert,,so il update you then
