yes every where they say you are supposed to carry id, but not everywhere are you asked to produce said id when just walking down the road or some thing like that.

No we don't have a national ID card system that is compulsory in the UK, and you are not required by law to carry any identification papers on you even while driving a car....

This is one of the reasons why so many illegal migrants like to come to the UK because they can ditch their old national identity and 'reinvent' themselves as a 'refugee'....

Its well known that the USA doesn't follow due process of law...

.....and the feds will try to kidnap you abroad rather than go thru proper extradition processes, if they happen to take a liking to you. How do I know?.....well because that's what was tried on me.

....But this has been going on long before the current POTUS took office.

yup. Nixon used extralegal efforts trying to bring Timothy Leary to heel after he escaped from jail & fled to Algeria & Switzerland. the US tried to have the Swiss extradite him (Algeria told them to go fuck themselves) but they looked at what he was accused of (possession of 2 roaches) and agreed with Algeria. but, you know? having trump agreeing with Nixon does not look good in the long term for trump or what is left of the gop, LOL!

my point was simply that due process is no longer sacrosanct and once you take it off 1 type of person you can much easier take it off the next group and so on.

immigration is just one of the new tools of repression, it gives the gov an excuse to wander around demanding peoples documents. now when i was in school this was given me as an example of a fascist nazi police state behavior. but now they got the Americans to the point where they are begging for check points and "routine" id checks. instead of having a secure border, they now have an excuse to demand you identify yourself and your immigration status any where in the country. same thing is happening in England from what im reading.

it used to be the drug war used as an excuse to "spot" check people, but at least they needed probable cause, with the immigration status excuse, no one is safe from being made to produce documents and all the potentially dangerous consequences of any interaction with the police.

These, and the medic's post that I put up, exemplify why this crap has got to change. Europe has shot themselves in the foot with unbridled immigration and rather than follow them off of the cliff, the US needs to put a stop to the leakage across a phenomenally porous border. We need to stop abrogating citizen's rights and stop creating an attractive nuisance that is getting people killed or horrifically abused.

As if generating and driving the refugees had not been a deliberate event.

I was in the US this week to catch a concert. We stayed in a BnB where the host was a retired constitutional lawyer. She told me something I never knew. As a tourist, or even an immigrant, the instant you step foot in the USA you are protected by the Constitution. Almost completely (can't vote).

Here's a quick search on the topic.
"The Fifth Amendment, as well as the Fourteenth Amendment protects everyone from deprivation of life, liberty or property without due process of law."

"once an alien enters the country, the legal circumstance changes, for the due process clause applies to all persons within the United States."
ZADVYDAS v. DAVIS

"U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 1982 that non-citizen children must get a free K-12 education"
Plyler vs. Doe

But undocumented immigrants don’t share all of the rights held by citizens - for example, they can’t vote in state and national elections.

So I encourage you all to look at all sides of this situation. There are no winners but please don't take up an opinion that comes from a media source that only has one agenda in mind: to discredit the current president.

This post appeared to have some credibility until it took a pro trump ending.

I guess any media besides fox is discrediting trump, since they are the only ones reporting unfavorable news?

I was always amazed at how few of those 'rights' the first americans ever saw.

You missed the point, AND did some selective editing - "Personally I could care less what you think of President Trump but where I draw the line is when we start taking down innocent people and painting them as villains in an effort to destroy someone else. These GOOD POEPLE working on this crisis have done so for the past 15 years without one word from anyone else until just recently."

15 years of the same old, same old, and it wasn't an issue until a week or so ago. What conclusion would you draw from that?

rives, when someone shows a concern for trump getting bad press it’s worth asking why that is.

Certain bias being displayed is the point.

If a person was able to focus on one thing at a time versus 24/7 deflect mode, maybe that would simplify things.

Oh bullshit. More of the specialty of the house, "much ado about nothing". She was asked to leave as a result of her official capacity and mentioned it on her official account. She did not "literally bitch out the owner of the restaurant", she said this -

"Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left. Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so".

My, but you folks are sensitive.

rives, it does NOT matter why that bloated lying pig was thrown out!!! her response should NOT have been on her PressScy twitter account, period!!!

BOLD & RED is what MANY consider her criticizing (I refer to as bitching out) the restaurant owner, period!!!

I'm going one step farther here, highlighted in BOLD & BLUE are Sarah's 5 magic words, her typical Republican 'get out of jail free' card w/a bullshit phrase... "I always do my best"

So when she fails as in this case she can write it off as 'she tried her best' but guess what, it just wasn't good enough. FAIL Sarah FAIL.

She along with the little orange man will go down in history as the biggest fucking liars to step foot on Capitol Hill.......

if thats an ethics violation what would it be if she did some personal trading on info she gets in her job? thats also an ethics violation right? you see where i'm going with this right? you are diluting the word, just like people do when they use the Nazi word because the barman says you had enough, or when you compare Putin to Hitler, it dilutes the evil he did. words must be chosen with care in these situations. what she did was mix up her twitter account or add a personal comment on her official account, it's nothing, it's such a small thing to jump on with so much energy that it just looks weird imo. not you, but the msm in general.

I think that it had far less to do with concern about Trump getting bad press than the FACT that it has been going on for 15 years with no notice until it can be used to attack Trump. Same thing with the foil blanket/cage pictures from 2014 - they were met with a large yawn under Obama, but now everyone is pissing down their legs. Anyone who is the slightest bit rational would question why that is, and come to the obvious conclusion.

Who cares....

The Obama administration basically took over the upper echelons of the DOJ and illegally used every tool at their disposal to torpedo a Presidential candidate, including forbidding the IG access to the department responsible. Somehow, you choose to ignore that and are concerned about a press secretary saying, correctly, that the Pussyhat wearing moron's actions said more about her than it did the press secretary. No hyperventilating rhetoric or large bold font is going to make it something that doesn't even rise to an insignificant transgression.

I didn't use the word Nazi, but I can see how people think that way. The whole political world moves further to the right, the press gets suppressed, and we are divided with propaganda. Authoritarian government takes babies away from their mothers. Sound like something from your history book?

We have already moved far to the right with billionaires voices millions of times more powerful than a single voter. I don't think this is what they had in mind at the inception.
