I was at the bookstore today... My True Blood jones hit me hard.
I got the first 4 books.... lol.
I think I will wait a while to read them, after the season finale, when things are gettin real bad.... lol

The books' plots are different enough that it won't hurt your enjoyment of watching future seasons. There is one fairly major character in the current season that was killed off fairly early in the first book, for example.
I've read the first half dozen - they are 3 or 4 hour reads, though I skip over quite a bit of the girly gooshy romance stuff to get to the supernatural battle royals. If you really want details on vampire/human sex, it might take you a bit more time to read them.

The books are by Charlaine Harris. They based the TrueBlood show on the books.
I got a new Dean Koontz book too, so I will probably read that first anyway!
I read the first few pages of TB #1, totally not like the show.

of closure with Maryann buying it finally, of
course they had to close with that nail biter
of Bill's demise and Jessica's feeding frenzy.
oh yeah, Eggs buying the farm was a surprise too.......

lets face facts here. Bill got taken by Eric. Sookie is gonna have one helluva time getting through this one. I have the strange feeling that Sookie's cousin is going to play an intricate part is the next season. She might be the only way that Bill makes it out of this.
Sam's real parents?? Why does my gut scream werewolves. Im sure that theres a good chance im wrong here, but im 100% sure that they arent human.
The thing with Andy and Jason is going to lead to a clusterfuck. Jason has a big mouth and im not sure that Andy can handle a secret of this magnitude. Sookie is going to find out somehow and fuck the whole thing up.
What pissed me off the most was the fact that Sookie only decided to say yes after she saw how the ring looked on her hand.

cant a guy just get a ring that HE thinks his lady friend will like? No doubt that Bill had plenty of savings, but does that warrant the necessity of a 4598354345 carat diamond?

The episode was ok but it was so predictable.. Everybody knew Bill wasn't going to sacrafice sam.. You think Matyanne would really not figure that one out?? I know it's T.V and all but I thought it was just too obvious... Also the thing with Bill being taken.. Everybody Knows nothing is going to happen to Bill.. If they won't even kill off Layfaette they are def not gonna kill him off.. What wasn't predictable was Jessica running off... I'm curious how this will play out..

A shame they broke grannie stackhouse's stuff and trashed her wedding gown.

Now I want more Rev. Sun and Mrs. Sun versus the Vampires fighting. I like that.
Mrs. Rev Sun should get preggers with Jason's love child. We find out Rev. Sun is sterile, so he knows it ain't his cause he has the mumps or something when little.
So Rev. Sun after Jason for preggers his old lady would be fun story line... lol
I hope Bill lays off that white face paint next season, all the other vampires glow with pink healthy cheeks, but Bill is drawn and white season 2.
Got some really cool Halloween pumpkin lighting today! 9 volt battery, fake candles that have 3 colors LED lighting.
Think I'll do a True Blood pumpkin this year and put that inside.
I'll paint a big gap in my teeth and go as Sookie.... heehee...

yeah, same here pretty much. the finale was really good until they killed maryanne. everything after that was extremely weak for a show about supernaturals. where the hell are the wares?

The book handled the whole storyline much better... though I won't discuss any of the plot points out of respect for anyone reading the book
